Apocalypse Gachapon

Chapter 2030: You are very good

Shi Yong and Ouchong almost opened their eyes at the same time.

The two looked at each other and smiled, both seeing the relief in the other’s expression.

They were the key bargaining chips for this negotiation with the Su Race—at least, that’s what the Order Leader had said, so they would believe it. They had to master an ability taught to them by the Order Leader.

Fortunately, just as the spacecraft was about to land on the Survivor Fortress where the Su Race resided, they had mastered it.

The two looked back at the hundred people behind them. These brothers and sisters also wore excited expressions on their faces. They knew that the Assault Camp was no longer the same as before.

It was a force… that would eventually stand as a formidable combat power among the cosmic races!

One day later, the spacecraft sent by Jie Su to fetch Ye Zhongming docked at the spaceport of the Survivor Fortress where the Su Race resided.

…………………………

Jie Su sat in a chair, quietly drinking a beverage in front of him.

Opposite him sat another man, also drinking something, but it looked very much like some kind of blood.

“Although you are a direct descendant of the Su Race with a not-so-low succession rank, you should also understand that unless some major accident occurs, the future leadership of the Su Race likely won’t fall to you. Perhaps a position as an Elder will be your limit.”

Jie Su listened, his expression showing not a ripple.

“It cannot be denied that you have mastered the Silk Sea Light Array and use it very well. Your performance in the Novice battlefield also let people see your potential, but this doesn’t prove much. The opponents’ strengths were all too low.”

The man smiled, looking at Jie Su who remained silent.

He tilted his head back and poured half a cup of that liquid into his mouth, then continued looking at Jie Su, saying, “Also, you are not old, and your Clan Leader is also not old. Your Elders can also live for many years. For you to truly become one of the few most powerful people in the Su Race, even if everything goes smoothly, you will have to wait for many years. I really don’t have that kind of patience.”

Jie Su still didn’t speak. Instead, he finished his drink. The cup was clean, with not a drop of liquid left.

That man glanced at it and smiled.

“Twelve aircraft, including four ‘Tao Hai’-class transport ships and eight ‘Lov’-class frigates. Just these things alone—can the million Moonspan Gold you’re offering me buy them? It’s barely enough for only a quarter of the price.”

“And this doesn’t even include the costs I’ll incur constantly opening flight routes for you,” the man said, crossing his arms. “You know, to make many people turn a blind eye, Moonspan Gold is needed to make them close their eyes.”

“If all you can offer is what you have promised now, it’s really not enough.”

After saying this, the man drank the remaining blood-colored liquid, seemingly ready to end today’s conversation.

Jie Su let out a light sigh, shook his head self-deprecatingly, and stood up.

“Regardless, thank you very much for taking the time to see me.”

He bowed to this man, whose presence was like a mountain, took his leave, and began thinking about how to explain things to Ye Zhongming.

He had originally thought there shouldn’t be any problem, but clearly, he had overestimated his current status.

However, Jie Su wasn’t too disheartened, because in his view, if this matter succeeded, it would be best; if not, it would still be fine.

“Giving up just like that?” the man suddenly said.

Jie Su raised his eyebrows, looking puzzled at this man who was very famous among the super major races and major races.

“Did I say I disagreed?” the man laughed.

“You…” Jie Su’s eyes widened a little, not understanding why the man’s attitude had suddenly changed.

“Sit,” the man motioned towards the chair with his chin.

Jie Su obediently sat down.

In front of this man, he really had no right to maintain any arrogance.

“Young man, too impatient.”

A handsome young man standing behind the man smiled upon hearing this, thinking that Jie Su wasn’t impatient at all; it was entirely you who spoke impatiently.

The man casually waved his hand, and the cup floated up from the table, drifting over to a transparent bottle nearby.

The man behind immediately went over, poured a cup of the blood-colored liquid, and brought it over.

“People say that appearing in the Novice battlefield by lowering your own strength was reckless and irresponsible, impulsive and emotional. But that’s actually not true. You keenly seized this opportunity, letting the cosmic races know you, and also letting the entire Su Race recognize you anew.”

“Your status within the Su Race has risen since you returned.”

For the first time today, Jie Su’s eyes met this man’s.

“Normally, for you to achieve your current status through continuous performance would take at least another five years.”

Jie Su lowered his gaze, but his body relaxed much more than before.

The man looked at him appreciatively and continued, “The chips you laid out for me: an initial one million, and then as long as this matter is ongoing, five hundred thousand every year. After it ends, the aircraft still belong to me.”

“None of these particularly interest me, but why you can offer these things—that I am very interested in.”

“Behind you stand quite a few races!” the man stated with great certainty.

Jie Su nodded very frankly.

“To be able to take out one million Moonspan Gold without affecting the operation of the race, at least three or four of those not-so-wealthy races behind your Su Race would be needed. You, with a not-so-high succession rank, actually have the allegiance of at least three or four races. Such a person, I think, is worth investing in.”

Jie Su lowered his head again, but the man laughed heartily, “Too late, I already saw. It seems it’s even more than three or four. You really surprise me.”

Jie Su, whose subtlety had been seen through, no longer hid anything and just smiled calmly.

Whether seen through or not, intentional or unintentional, what did it matter?

“And also, I’m someone who likes adventure. You want to use so many aircraft and also want unrestricted, unmonitored navigation rights. I’m very curious about what you’re going to do. Although I won’t ask, I really want to support you. This feeling of constantly needing to search for answers is great.”

The man laughed loudly, drank the blood-colored liquid again, then stood up and said, “Actually, what I said above is just so-so. Your little maneuvers, a bit of curiosity, or those turtle-like races supporting you—I don’t really care about any of that. What I truly care about is you as a person.”

Walking to Jie Su’s side, he patted this young man’s shoulder and, with rare seriousness, said, “Although I was born into a major race, I also dislike the ways of the major races. The current situation of the cosmic races is entirely the responsibility of these major races. If these seven Survivor Fortresses continue to be led by them, there is no hope. Sometimes, fresh blood needs to appear.”

“And you are among them,” the man said, smiling as he walked out. “At forty years old, with a Furelai exceeding fifty thousand.”

“Jie Su, you are very good.”
