Chapter 460: Chapter 456: Something’s Wrong with Starfire

“Actually, the binding bracelets issued by the X Realm are their cheapest kind of product,” Future said smugly. “There’s a world of difference compared to our system.”

“Especially a high-level system like me. They can’t even hope to catch up.”

“At best, the people wearing these bracelets can only access a system store and use it for communication. There are just too many other restrictions.”

“But even so, for an ordinary person, it’s a huge perk.”

Xie Ning nodded slightly. “Yes. In terms of communication alone, it’s a major step forward.”

In this apocalyptic era, only official personnel could use their self-developed Satellite Bracelets to communicate for missions.

Ordinary people couldn’t even dream of it.

But now, to promote their binding bracelets, the X Realm was definitely encouraging as many people as possible to join in.

So ordinary citizens would have the chance to get a bracelet.

The bracelets were quite tempting for them, as they could open a Dimensional Space the size of a cookie tin.

“What’s the use of a Dimensional Space the size of a cookie tin? HAHAHA,” Little Spider laughed mockingly. “Do they think this will usher in an age where everyone is a Space Ability User?”

“Dead wrong. The gap between this tiny cookie-tin Dimensional Space and a real Space Ability User is practically the difference between a puddle and the ocean.”

What can you put in a little cookie tin? A phone and a keychain? What’s the use of that?

At most, you could fit a summer outfit, and then it would be pretty much stuffed…

Xie Ning propped her chin on one hand and replied to Little Spider with her spiritual power, ‘Don’t say that.’

‘It’s a shame these bracelets weren’t widely distributed in my past life. I wonder what happened.’

‘If they had been widespread in her past life, she would have been unable to resist wanting a binding bracelet herself.’

‘No matter how small, a Space was still a Space. What’s more, it would make communicating with teammates convenient. Why wouldn’t anyone want that?’

‘So many things in this life were completely different from the last. Only a few people and factions were the same.’

‘It was as if… the past she once knew had been beaten beyond recognition overnight by the flap of a butterfly’s wings.’

Xie Ning let out a breath. Seeing the farce with the X Realm People outside finally come to a close, she put on her hat and prepared to rest for half an hour.

She had been organizing things in her Space earlier, and two hours had passed without her noticing.

Organizing everything was a skill, and it was exhausting.

After all, she had been actively using her Space Ability for two full hours…

She could have just brought a small stool out to the terrace and organized things by hand, but Xie Ning felt that would be even more tiring…

She took a small sip of replenishment water and closed her eyes to rest for a moment.

The vehicle started moving, and the scenery outside began to roll backward.

Soon, vehicle after vehicle departed from the Jingji Security Zone, heading straight for Gushang Base.

Inside vehicle number eight, Li Zongyuan’s expression was grim. He glanced at the driver before speaking in a low voice to the man beside him.

“Did you sense it?”

The man was in his early thirties, with a buzz cut and a fierce-looking face.

“No.”

“But that Starfire Team… there’s definitely something wrong with them.”

“I couldn’t even get a reading on the overall strength assessment for the Captain of Star Fire. Captain Li, don’t you find that highly problematic?”

“As for the others, the data I got was also extremely high. Their average value is over three hundred??”

“How is that possible?” ‘They’re just Earth people.’

How long had it been since they awakened their superpowers and became Evolved People?

Even if they had established the Global Superpower Academy before the apocalypse began.

At the very most, they would have been studying their superpowers for four years, not even five.

Their overall strength rating could actually reach 300? As a team average?

“Impossible,” Li Zongyuan said, looking at the man in surprise. “If their overall combat rating is 300, their superpower levels must be quite high.”

“Fourth Rank, at the very least.”

“Fourth Rank? You mean everyone on that Starfire Team has reached the Fourth Rank?”

It’s been so little time since the apocalypse began. How could the Earth people have progressed this quickly?

“Exactly. That’s why I think there’s definitely something strange about that team.” A vicious look flashed across the man’s face. “Perhaps this team is blessed with some incredible luck, or a secret. You get what I’m saying!”

Li Zongyuan’s expression darkened as well.

“If that’s the case, we’ll have to find another way to investigate.”

As he spoke, he glanced up toward the driver’s seat.

The driver was a plain-looking, middle-aged man with a flat-top haircut and a newsboy cap. His eyes were as sharp as an eagle’s.

“We should speak carefully. This man was sent by Gu Chen. He’s supposedly from their Team A, but you saw what happened earlier.”

“Gu Chen’s team doesn’t seem weak at all. Che Kai, did you ever assess their team’s overall combat rating?”

“I didn’t get the chance.” The man with the buzz cut shook his head, his expression turning grave. “But Captain Li, we might need to be more careful.”

“Just from that move his team members pulled earlier, I can tell they’re anything but simple.”

“They managed to subdue you instantly, and Qian Rongtian at the same time?”

“That’s highly problematic, isn’t it?”

Li Zongyuan nodded. “It is.”

Extremely problematic!

Even though Qian Rongtian was only a Support Ability User, everyone from the X Realm had previously assumed that the Earth people’s combat abilities were leagues below their own.

But now…

It seemed they had all been collectively slapped in the face.

“Are they really evolving this fast?”

“It’s because this world has a large population and an abundance of plants and animals! So their rate of mutation is on a sharp, upward trend.”

As Li Zongyuan spoke, a hint of envy crept into his eyes. “This world may be primitive, but I have to admit, its biodiversity is incredibly rich.”

“Thousands of years ago, our world was just as prosperous, wasn’t it?”

“It’s strange. We’re just in a different dimension, so why is the difference so vast?”

Che Kai said flatly, “It will all be the same later on. If this apocalypse can’t be stopped, then as things progress, this place will just become another wasteland.”

“I just don’t understand why the Master is so optimistic about this place. Can humanity really contend with nature? I find that unlikely.”

“If everything is ultimately headed for destruction anyway, then our coming here is a futile effort.”

“Don’t talk nonsense.” Li Zongyuan’s voice dropped even lower.

He glanced cautiously at the driver, who was focused intently on the road.

Che Kai sneered. “You’re just being overly cautious. He’s just an ordinary person. You really think he can hear our conversation?”

“Relax. My AI is constantly monitoring our surroundings, and there are no suspicious electronic devices nearby. There are no listening devices or anything of the sort here. It’s impossible for anyone to hear us.”

“What do you think of the Captain of Star Fire?”

“Nothing special. Just a woman,” Che Kai scoffed.

After a moment’s thought, he added, “She probably just has good luck.”
