And just like that, the nineteenth day passed in a flurry of activity.

On the twentieth day, monsters began to spawn at dawn. The frequency was much higher than the day before; they appeared almost every half hour in groups of one to three.

Moira Lynch finally understood why Hugh Finch had said they would be at a great disadvantage if they stayed here.

Among the three of them, Hugh Finch’s ability was divination. Barry Wallace would fall into pieces at the slightest bit of excitement, and his physical constitution was abysmal. That left Moira Lynch as their only combatant.

Although she possessed the Annihilation Talent, after learning how terrifying it was, her intuition told her, ’It’s best not to use this ability in front of the Cosmic Consciousness.’

After all, this game required them not only to survive but also to prove to the Cosmic Consciousness that they were harmless.

Her Space Power could teleport these monsters elsewhere, but that was just a temporary fix, not a long-term solution.

After dealing with the newly spawned monsters, the trio left the bunker during the lull before the next wave appeared.

Before they left, Moira Lynch took out three protective suits for them to wear.

The suits would prevent any trace of their presence from escaping.

Once inside the suits, their bodies were completely sealed, leaving only their eyes exposed.

Moira Lynch stretched her arms and legs and looked around. The suit’s design was very form-fitting and even had an internal temperature-regulating system to keep them warm in the cold and cool in the heat. Aside from a slightly obstructed view, everything was perfect.

Even with the obstructed vision, the suit was equipped with a thermal detection system that could capture any approaching heat sources and issue an early warning.

This design completely compensated for the limited visibility.

"Doesn’t this design look like a budget combination of an Exoskeleton Mecha, temperature-regulating clothes, and a hazard suit?" Moira Lynch asked.

Hugh Finch nodded. "It does. Given a little more time, they could probably develop a full Exoskeleton Mecha."

After suiting up, Moira Lynch put on another layer of clothing. ’Walking around in an all-white suit is just too conspicuous,’ she thought. ’It’d be impossible not to attract attention.’

Once they were ready, Moira Lynch used her spiritual power to lock onto their target destination. An instant later, they vanished.

After arriving outside, Hugh Finch surveyed their surroundings before asking, "Moira, what’s the maximum range of your Space Teleportation?"

"That depends," Moira said. "If I’m not teleporting people, and the objects are small and few, I can send them anywhere within the range of my spiritual power."

"And what if you’re teleporting people?" Hugh Finch asked.

"That depends even more on the situation. If it’s just me and I have plenty of energy, I can teleport anywhere within a thousand meters. But carrying you two, the maximum distance is a hundred meters. That’s my absolute limit right now."

Their bunker was quite far from the Portmire city center. ’A paltry hundred meters?’ Moira thought. ’I might as well walk. It would save me some energy.’

’As for teleporting ahead by myself and then bringing the other two over in separate trips... forget it.’

’It would be a waste of energy and a huge pain.’

’Besides, I’m the only real fighter in this group. If I left them behind, what if monsters launched a sneak attack?’

’I don’t care if Barry Wallace lives or dies, but I care about Hugh.’

’So, we’ll walk. The distance isn’t a big deal for us.’

It might not have been a big deal for *them*, but Moira had overlooked Barry Wallace’s stamina. They hadn’t been walking for long before he was already gasping for air.

As luck would have it, a monster with hair standing on end and a stumbling, swaying gait appeared behind them.

Although they had dealt with plenty of monsters the day before, this was the first time Moira’s group had come face-to-face with this particular type.

The image of the monster formed by Moira’s spiritual power was that of a humanoid creature with hair standing on end and an unsteady gait.

But when they saw it with their own eyes, they realized their imagination had been far too conservative.

The monster behind them was humanoid in shape, but that was where any resemblance to a person ended.

Its legs were unnaturally long and thin, like two bamboo poles that might snap at any moment. No wonder its gait was so unsteady.

Its exposed skin was ashen, the color of a corpse. But the worst part was its face: it had no eyes. Its nose consisted of two small black dots that looked as if they’d been poked into the skin. All that remained was a mouth filled with conspicuous, shark-like teeth.

Moira felt that this monster was somehow different from the ones she had dispatched before.

When Barry Wallace saw the monster, he forgot all about his fatigue and bolted.

Seeing its prey run, the monster opened its massive mouth, preparing to launch a sonic attack.

Seeing the monster’s stomach begin to rapidly expand, Moira didn’t hesitate. She immediately stuffed a nearby rock into the creature’s mouth, silencing it.

Hugh Finch then quickly drew the Gun of Destruction and ended the monster’s life.

After making sure the monster was completely dead, Hugh Finch walked over. "You didn’t bring a weapon with you?" he asked.

At his words, an expression of sudden realization crossed Moira’s face. She slapped her forehead. "Oh, right! I do have a weapon. I almost forgot."

As she spoke, a white bow appeared in her hand, and a black Arrow Tube materialized on her back.

Seeing the weapon in Moira’s hand, a look of envy flashed in Hugh Finch’s eyes.

"Do you think... if I went back and had Little Snake devour a few items, it could do something like this for me?" Hugh Finch asked.

’Moira’s ability is just too broken,’ he thought.

"You could try," Moira said earnestly. "After all, divination has some connection to spiritual power. But I don’t think the chances of success are very high."

"I’ve researched everyone with a Spiritual Talent before. Once they acquire a Spiritual Body, their Spiritual Bodies might be overly active or highly independent, but there’s never been a case of one devouring powerful items."

Hearing this, Moira thought for a moment before replying, "That might be because my talent is a variant. It also contains a spatial attribute. When I first awakened, the Spiritual System was dominant and the spatial attribute was secondary. But after an evolution, the two Attributes reached a state of balance."

Chatting as they walked, the two of them easily caught up to Barry Wallace. Along the way, they even found the backpack he had discarded.

He had clearly tossed it to lighten his load.
