Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging
Chapter 472 - 462: Returning to Tarmir
When Patience learned that Moira Lynch had actually awakened a third talent, it immediately began a search.
However, after a long while, Patience spoke, its voice somewhat dejected:
"Sorry, Master. I couldn’t find any relevant information in my database, and there’s nothing on the Astranet either."
In fact, it wasn’t just about third talents; even people who awakened a second talent were exceedingly rare in the interstellar community.
Moira Lynch was a little disappointed by Patience’s answer, but she also felt it was to be expected.
After all, those who could awaken a second talent were one in ten thousand, to say nothing of a third.
Even if someone did awaken one, they certainly wouldn’t reveal it easily.
"Patience, my new talent seems to be the Ice Element. Could this have something to do with receiving blessings from multiple Frost Sprites?"
She had awakened a third talent, and it just happened to be the Ice Element. Moira Lynch herself wouldn’t believe it was a coincidence.
As she thought this, Moira Lynch took off the Universal Gloves from her hands.
Sure enough, the mole on her hand that represented Ice Finger had vanished. Not only that, but the moles in other places and the pattern on her back had also disappeared.
’The mole is gone, but is the ability still there?’
’She had just frozen the water’s surface with ease, which meant her Ice Finger was still there, but...’
’Why did her hand feel warm?’
Moira Lynch placed her hand in the water again. Normally, a thick layer of frost would have already formed on the surface, but now, the water showed no reaction at all.
Just then, a thought crossed her mind, and in an instant, the flowing water froze solid.
’It seemed her blessings hadn’t disappeared; they’d just been converted into a talent. She just didn’t know if the Snow Chestnut’s ability had also been converted.’
’Right, there’s one more thing I haven’t checked.’
Moira Lynch reached up and removed a beauty contact lens from her eye. A pair of crystal-clear, sky-blue eyes, shimmering like ice, appeared in the water’s reflection.
Because of the blessings, both of her eyes had turned blue, but they were different shades, making it look like she had mismatched eyes.
Moira Lynch paused before the water to admire her eyes for a moment. ’You know, this color is actually quite pretty.’
At this point, she was about eighty percent certain that the reason for her third talent’s appearance was the blessings from those Frost Sprites.
After inspecting her spiritual power and her space, and familiarizing herself with her third talent, Moira Lynch began to examine her second talent.
Moira Lynch rarely used this second talent.
The white flame was for healing, the black flame for destruction.
As for healing, Moira Lynch was almost never injured. Even on the rare occasion she was, her natural recovery was so fast that the wound would heal before she could even treat it.
So, aside from crafting various weapons and using it during that one game before, she really seldom used the talent.
As for the black flame, Moira Lynch had to admit, this talent was powerful. Its attack power wasn’t just top-tier among the types of talents known on Caelus; even among the talent types announced by The Federation, her black flame was definitely one of the best.
To prevent people with such talents from endangering society, The Federation would usually either recruit them or place them under surveillance.
Now, looking at the white flame in her hand, she could feel that the energy within it had become purer, more sacred.
Moira Lynch didn’t even need to do anything; just being near the flame made her feel incredibly comfortable.
As for the black flame next to it, it had also become purer. Just looking at it gave her a heart-pounding sense of dread.
And that was while being its master; anyone else who saw this black flame would only feel an even greater threat.
Moira Lynch retracted the talent and sighed. "I should use this talent less in the future. It feels a little unsafe."
After getting a handle on her current situation, she looked up at the sky and discovered that the stars had become even brighter than before.
’This was most likely related to Hugh Finch,’ she guessed. ’After all, besides him, there were no other outsiders on all of Cloudsea Planet.’
Just then, a fish swam past her, rushing hurriedly in a certain direction.
There were many other fish just like it all around, their destinations identical. Even the frequency of their bodies’ undulations was the same.
Seeing this, Moira Lynch followed them. About an hour later, on a small island, she found Hugh Finch sitting cross-legged with his eyes tightly closed.
At that moment, Hugh Finch’s entire body was surrounded by motes of white light that resonated with the stars in the sky.
The Prophetic Robe he wore fluttered slightly, and his whole being was suffused with an air of mystery.
Beneath the water’s surface, countless fish had gathered. They continuously leaped out of the water and fell back in, only to leap out and fall again, as if in worship.
Seeing this, Moira Lynch did not step forward to disturb him.
"Patience, turn on the recording function."
’She had to record this scene.’
A normal person using the Verasi Potion would only need ten minutes to an hour, but Hugh Finch had actually taken a full three hours to finish.
Therefore, Moira Lynch waited in place for nearly an hour before she saw Hugh Finch slowly open his eyes.
As he awoke, the stars in the sky slowly faded from view.
Moira Lynch walked up and asked, "How do you feel?"
Hugh Finch’s expression was serene, and he exuded a transcendent aura, making one feel as though he might ascend to immortality in the very next second.
He opened his mouth, his voice clear and slow as he said, "This feeling is truly marvelous."
’If he hadn’t been worried that taking too long would make Moira Lynch worry, he wouldn’t have wanted to come out so soon.’
After confirming that Hugh Finch was truly alright, she said, "Since there’s no problem, let’s get going. I bought tickets for the ship to Pyralia; it departs in about three hours."
"Ship tickets?"
A trace of confusion flickered in Hugh Finch’s eyes.
Moira Lynch explained, "I’ve never been to Pyralia, so the Teleportation Gate can’t lock onto its location. We can only use the Teleportation Gate to a planet we’ve been to before, and then buy an interstellar spaceship ticket to Pyralia."
"Oh, so that’s how it is." An expression of understanding appeared on Hugh Finch’s face.
As the Teleportation Gate opened, a blue Space Teleportation Gate appeared before the two of them.
A second before entering the Teleportation Gate, Hugh Finch asked curiously, "Right, which planet are we headed to?"
They had been to quite a few planets on their previous missions.
"To Tarmir. The transportation there is well-developed. They have ships that can go to Pyralia at any time."
By the time the two arrived on Tarmir, there were still more than two hours until the ship’s departure.
The two went to the ticket inspection area, where an eye-shaped robot floated down from above. A white light shot out from the eye, scanning them both from head to toe. Immediately after, a mechanical voice emanated from the robot.
"Identities confirmed. Moira Lynch, Hugh Finch. Destination: Pyralia. The spaceship will depart in two hours and forty-eight minutes. Please board on time."
