Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging

Chapter 371 - 361: Playing the Role of a Game NPC 9

After all, the Rabbitfolk were a vulnerable group in the interstellar community. Because of their high fertility, they were very susceptible to harassment from other races.

So, to avoid trouble, they would hide their rabbit ears and tails.

Moira Lynch, however, had no idea the robots in front of her had mistaken her for a rabbit. She only noticed their gazes flickering between the top of her head and her rear, eventually settling on her behind.

’Oh god, don’t tell me I’ve run into some perverted robots.’

Just as Moira Lynch was grumbling to herself, the other robot returned.

"I’ve just spoken with him. He’s agreed to let you help, but since you’re only one person, you probably can’t handle much."

Moira Lynch didn’t like the sound of that. ’You can question my character, but you can’t doubt my professional ability.’

"Don’t worry. I’ll be sure to give you a surprise."

Seeing the confident look on Moira Lynch’s face, the two robots both gave her a look that clearly said, "I don’t believe you."

It wasn’t that they looked down on Moira Lynch. The real reason was that she hadn’t even passed a single ranking exam; the badge on her chest was for the lowest level. Even if they wanted to believe her, they couldn’t find a single reason to.

The Spiritual Life Robot led Moira Lynch to the front of a massive warehouse.

As the warehouse door opened, inside were rows of individually packaged gaming helmets.

One of the robots explained, "These gaming helmets were manufactured recently. They were originally going to be put up for sale, but then the gaming pods burst onto the scene and immediately captured most of the market. As a result, we’ve only sold a small fraction of them over several months. On top of that, many people who did buy them ended up returning them for a refund after using them for a while."

At this point, the robot let out a sigh.

You have to understand, before the gaming pods appeared, our stock of these helmets wouldn’t even last two days. Now, they’re just sitting in the warehouse collecting dust.

"Didn’t you say you were going to give us a surprise? You can start now. I’d like to see what kind of surprise you have in store."

Hearing this, Moira Lynch gave a mysterious smile. She unleashed her spiritual power, and in the Blink of an eye, nearly a third of the gaming helmets in the warehouse vanished.

At this sight, the two robots’ eyes instantly widened, their expressions completely dumbfounded.

"Y-You, how did you just do that?" one of the robots stammered.

"I told you I’d give you a surprise," Moira Lynch said.

’If I wasn’t afraid of scaring you to death,’ she thought, ’I could have actually taken everything in this warehouse in one go.’

’But the aftermath of doing that would definitely be a massive headache.’

’For my own body’s sake, I’d better not. Besides, there’s still plenty of time before my shift starts.’

’Tomorrow, I think I’m supposed to play a game boss. Not the final boss, though. I’ll just have to press the skills as they light up, like in a game. Press whatever lights up.’

For the rest of the time, Moira Lynch didn’t continue clearing things out in such a grand, sweeping manner. Instead, she collected them in smaller batches.

But even so, her speed was still astonishing.

In just a short while, Moira Lynch had cleared out the entire warehouse.

Seeing this, the two robots finally snapped out of their shock and stared at Moira Lynch as if she were a monster.

With their level of professional expertise, they could tell that Moira Lynch’s talent as a Recycler had to be top-tier.

Usually, someone with this kind of talent would be specially protected by a large group of people and would travel around space disposing of trash.

For example, planets that had just gone through a war, or planets that had just exploded—all of these situations required Recyclers to handle.

If it were ordinary people, handling such a task would require a massive amount of manpower and resources, but a Recycler wouldn’t need that.

If Moira Lynch knew what these two were thinking right now, she’d probably choke on her own spit and even regret her earlier performance. After all, she wasn’t a real Recycler.

’Cleaning up a battlefield is barely acceptable, but cleaning up the fragments of an exploded planet? That’s asking a bit much. Who would I even sell that stuff to when I get back?’

However, her recent actions weren’t without their benefits. For instance, Moira Lynch didn’t even have to say a word before the two robots obediently led her to the next warehouse.

This one was filled with gaming wristbands.

Because gaming helmets already existed before the wristbands came out, the quantity of wristbands wasn’t particularly large, but it still filled an entire warehouse.

According to the two robots, this warehouse held a month’s worth of stock. But now it had been sitting here for almost half a year, and they had barely sold any.

They had even tried packaging them as blind boxes before.

But the rich wouldn’t buy them, and the poor couldn’t afford them, so the whole thing just fizzled out.

It took an hour for Moira Lynch to store the entire warehouse of gaming wristbands in her space.

During that hour, Moira Lynch spent more than half of it resting.

She got hungry and needed to eat to replenish her energy.

Fragrant white rice with stir-fried pork and mushrooms, with a bit of the savory mushroom sauce drizzled over the rice... The flavor was so appetizing, you couldn’t help but eat more.

Watching Moira Lynch wolfing down her food, the two robots couldn’t help but gulp.

Unfortunately, they were just robots and couldn’t eat normal food.

However, if their systems could just be upgraded one more time, they would be able to eat normal food.

But upgrades cost money. At their current salary, it would take them several years of work to save up enough.

After Moira Lynch had eaten and drunk her fill, they arrived at another warehouse.

Just as Moira Lynch was guessing whether this warehouse contained gaming helmets or gaming pods, the door slowly opened, revealing rows upon rows of gaming pods.

Before Moira Lynch could even ask, one of the robots proactively explained, "These are all gaming pods that were returned because of various issues. They were originally scheduled for destruction. Since you’re here, you might as well take them all."

"Issues? What kind of issues? Are these gaming pods still usable?" Moira Lynch asked, feigning curiosity.

The question of whether they were usable or not was very important to Moira Lynch. It would determine how she would deal with these gaming pods.

"They’re all just minor problems. They’re definitely still usable, it’s just that repairing them is a little troublesome. Plus, our supervisor is a perfectionist. Besides the pods that were returned for various minor issues, there are also some in here that had small cosmetic flaws during production."

Moira Lynch looked at the gaming pods in the warehouse, so excited she could barely contain herself.

She could already picture herself raking in the profits.

What Moira Lynch didn’t know was that someone else had the same idea.

At that very moment, a young man with blond hair and blue eyes was frantically ordering gaming pods online.

Once he got back and put these gaming pods in his shop, he refused to believe he still wouldn’t be able to compete with SoySauceDrunkard.
