Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging
Chapter 285 - 275: Intelligent Brain
"No."
’I am SoySauceDrunkard, and SoySauceDrunkard is me. How could I possibly have met myself?’
"Do you remember that elf we met during the sea race? The one who gave us the Space Button."
Afraid Kai York might not remember, Moira offered a reminder.
Kai York’s expression shifted from confusion to surprise, and finally to shock.
He slammed a hand on the table. "Those elves—they look exactly like the one we met!"
Moira nodded. "Now you know how I got them, right?"
With Eleanor Vaughn as an excuse, Moira finally felt confident enough to bring out the Intelligent Brains.
Besides, this batch of Intelligent Brains she brought out was slightly different from the ones sold in the store.
Moira had Patience reinstall some of the functions on these Intelligent Brains, enabling them to connect to the interstellar network.
While these Intelligent Brains couldn’t compare to Patience, they were countless times more powerful than a phone.
Moreover, Kai York and the other two had already registered for their interstellar IDs long ago, so there wouldn’t be any issues even if an interstellar investigation occurred.
After hearing this, Kai York stared at the Intelligent Brain in his hand, unable to put it down.
He opened the box. Inside was just a tiny chip.
"How do I wear this?" Kai York asked, looking to Moira for help.
It was supposed to be installed in the eye and connect directly to the brain, but for Kai York, this was a huge challenge.
After all, this was a man who had never even worn beauty contact lenses.
Moira finished the last bite of her hotpot, wiped her hands with a wet tissue, and walked over to Kai York.
She took the Intelligent Brain from Kai York’s hand, gestured toward his eyes, and asked, "Which eye do you want it in?"
Seeing the mischievous look on Moira’s face, Kai York had a bad feeling.
"Left eye. No, right eye. Let’s do the right eye."
As Moira drew closer, Kai York instinctively leaned back.
However, Moira wasn’t about to give him the chance to escape.
She yanked him forward, holding the Intelligent Brain in one hand while prying his right eye open with the other.
The installation process wasn’t complicated. Once the Intelligent Brain was placed in the eye, it would automatically move into position.
So, before Kai York could even react, Moira was already done.
Before the scream in Kai York’s mouth could even escape, Moira had already pulled back.
"That’s it?" Kai York asked, his face a mixture of shock and disbelief. "What do I do now?"
Moira tapped the corner of her own eye. "Power on."
Copying Moira, Kai York also tapped the corner of his right eye. His vision changed instantly.
"It’s working! It’s working!"
Kai York was as excited as a child seeing the outside world for the very first time.
"Let’s add each other. It’ll be easier to stay in touch in the game."
Moira said, sending him a friend request on the spot.
Kai York accepted instantly.
For the next while, Kai York completely forgot about his food, engrossed in studying his new toy.
Seeing this, Moira didn’t disturb him. She finished her meal and prepared to head upstairs.
’Patience is upgrading, and my spiritual power is unusable. I’d better not go out for a while. This is a good time to focus on my cultivation and check on the status of those planets.’
Seeing Moira about to leave, Kai York suddenly called out to her.
"Moira, you got these for Boss and Hugh Finch too, right?"
Moira nodded. "I did. Why?"
"Perfect. Give them to me, and I’ll deliver them for you."
Seeing the "I’m about to stir up some trouble" look on Kai York’s face, Moira, who loved a good show, readily agreed.
’I’m bored anyway,’ she thought. ’I wouldn’t mind watching a dramatic chase.’
She took out two more boxes containing the Intelligent Brains and tossed them to Kai York.
Kai York caught the boxes. "Oh, right," he said. "If you have time, you should log into the combat training mode. The guy in there has asked me about you several times. I think he suspects I ate you or something. He’s been getting more and more ruthless lately, too."
"Seriously, is interstellar tech really this advanced? It’s just a combat training mode, but he feels like a real person."
Moira didn’t hear Kai York’s last sentence and just replied, "Okay."
Then she promptly forgot all about it.
Back in her room, Moira prepared to check on her planets using the Golden Celestial Eye.
Especially Veridian Prime. She wondered how its development was coming along.
She had brought back a lot of Candy this time, planning to raise them on Veridian Prime. But as soon as the thought crossed her mind, a sharp pain shot through her brain.
Only then did Moira remember that Snowy had swallowed both her Golden Celestial Eye and Red Celestial Eye.
Operating these Heavenly Eyes now required spiritual power, but at the moment, she was completely unable to use it.
Moira lay on her bed, her expression blank.
Thankfully, she didn’t stay dejected for long. She might not have spiritual power, but she still had robots.
Fortunately, she had bought plenty of robots before and deployed them on various planets.
Over on Cloudsea Planet, most of the robots had switched to aquatic mode and were hard at work.
Moira observed her surroundings by taking control of one of the robot’s bodies.
In just a few months, Cloudsea Planet was like a whole new world.
Back when it was a Garbage Star, Cloudsea Planet had been desolate and lifeless. Even the wind blowing across the sea surface felt lonely.
But now, Cloudsea Planet was visibly beginning to thrive.
The Knotweed Kelp on the seabed had already multiplied, covering a vast area.
The fish that fed on and made their homes in the Knotweed Kelp also began to reproduce madly.
And with the proliferation of these herbivores, the carnivorous fish populations were also growing stronger.
Moira estimated that by the time the next game session ended, these fish would be ready for harvesting.
On the surface of the sea, the Full Vines and Qio Vines were growing with wild abandon.
Every day, large quantities of Full Vines and Qio Vines ripened, which were then transferred into Moira’s personal space by the Golden and Red Celestial Eyes.
From there, they were sent to her shop to be sold.
’Looking at these flourishing Full Vines and Qio Vines,’ Moira thought, ’should I toss some Water Wood Stones over here to shorten their growth cycle again?’
’That can wait until my spiritual power recovers.’
’Anyway, I have plenty of Water Wood Stones in my space. If that’s not enough, there’s always Mochina.’
’Mochina has Water Wood Stones too, just not as many as Planet Mocha.’
Next, Moira went to check on the Cloudsea Whale Egg.
The incubation was proceeding well, and the two Cetabeasts were being very diligent.
Originally, Moira had also wanted to search for some Isle Turtles.
However, the Isle Turtles were far too small at this stage, and without her spiritual power, they were incredibly difficult to find.
Since she couldn’t find them, she decided to let it go. She didn’t force the issue; as long as they were alive, that was enough.
