Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging

Chapter 217: Risk of National Annihilation

All signs indicated that the deaths of these two were no accident.

Silence fell over the scene.

"Can SoySauceDrunkard really kill someone from a thousand miles away?"

Meanwhile, the livestream hadn’t ended.

With the help of the Red Celestial Eye, Moira Lynch found the mastermind behind this farce: the Prime Minister of The Crimson Dominion.

This man was also a player. Using his talent, he had managed to take control of The Crimson Dominion’s entire Royal Court and upper echelons. It was a classic case of controlling the emperor to command the nobles.

His reason for seeking out SoySauceDrunkard was simple: he coveted her resources. He planned to use them to achieve his ambition of world domination.

Even though his first plan had failed, he had no intention of giving up.

He gathered all the people in his country with precognitive talents, intending to use them in a sacrificial ritual to discover SoySauceDrunkard’s true identity.

Just as he was about to begin, the image on the livestream shifted again.

Everyone watching was confused. What was The Crimson Dominion up to now? Hadn’t they made enough of a fool of themselves already?

But what they didn’t know was that control of the broadcast had switched from The Crimson Dominion to Patience.

At that moment, a slip of paper fluttered down from the sky, landing perfectly in front of the camera.

[Seeing as you’re all trying so hard to find me, allow me to give you a spectacular visual feast.]

Seeing this, the quicker-witted viewers immediately realized that SoySauceDrunkard truly had been the one who killed those people earlier.

"It seems The Crimson Dominion has really pissed off SoySauceDrunkard this time," Shane Rhodes said.

Hugh Finch gazed at the Tarot Cards before him and casually flipped one over. An upright Death card, Ryan Hayes, appeared.

"I predict they are at risk of having their nation annihilated."

Kai York’s eyes widened. "SoySauceDrunkard plays for such high stakes?"

Hugh Finch nodded.

Just then, the livestream’s camera suddenly pulled back, and back, and back again, until the entirety of The Crimson Dominion was visible.

Immediately after, a Red Celestial Eye appeared in the stream.

Followed by three Crystal Stones of different colors.

[What is SoySauceDrunkard trying to do?]

[The guy above, shut up. My gut tells me what’s coming next is going to be absolutely spectacular.]

The three Crystal Stones plummeted downwards at extreme speed.

About a few dozen seconds later...

BOOM!

A violent gust of wind suddenly blew past, knocking the camera askew.

Those watching the livestream, even knowing it was just a broadcast, couldn’t help but gasp.

They saw an absolutely massive tornado tearing through The Crimson Dominion.

At that moment, almost everyone had the same thought: this was the "spectacular performance" SoySauceDrunkard had mentioned.

But of course, that wasn’t it. It wasn’t over yet.

A colossal wave hundreds of meters high crashed down on The Crimson Dominion. The visual was like God swatting a fly with a giant flyswatter.

But it still wasn’t over.

Before the water could recede and while the tornado still raged, hundreds of purple bolts of heavenly lightning rained down from the sky.

Instantly, the once-silent live chat became even more so.

Those who had previously been determined to find SoySauceDrunkard quietly abandoned the thought.

This was fucking terrifying.

Most people targeted individuals. SoySauceDrunkard, on the other hand, had just unleashed an ultimate on an entire country.

And while the country might be on the smaller side, no one was willing to bet on how many more trump cards like this SoySauceDrunkard had up her sleeve.

After a "baptism" like that, it was uncertain if anyone was left alive.

However, some people sensed that something was off. SoySauceDrunkard had originally only killed two people. For her attitude to change so drastically, there had to be another reason.

No one was a fool. Was The Crimson Dominion making such a big fuss just to talk to her? There had to be some other scheme involved.

But even if they guessed The Crimson Dominion had other ulterior motives, it no longer mattered, because...

After the triple threat of the tornado, the tsunami, and the heavenly lightning, a volcano within The Crimson Dominion’s own borders also erupted.

No one believed The Crimson Dominion could survive an assault by so many simultaneous natural disasters.

[Um, is the world map going to need an update?]

A comment scrolled silently across the stream, but it received no reply.

The power of the Crystal Stones lasted for about three days.

In other words, the tornado, the tsunami, and the heavenly lightning ravaged The Crimson Dominion for three whole days.

During this time, Moira Lynch took a special look at the online comments and found that there wasn’t a single negative one about her.

Before this incident, one could occasionally find criticism of SoySauceDrunkard online. Some had even called her a coward who was hiding in her shell.

But now, it was as if these people had vanished overnight. Even their previous posts had been completely scrubbed from existence.

From the remote killings to the world-ending cataclysm that followed, it all made them realize with stark clarity: they could no longer afford to provoke SoySauceDrunkard.

Three days later, the tornado dissipated, the sea returned to calm, and the dark clouds in the sky scattered.

’Did you think it was over? Don’t forget, there’s still the volcanic eruption.’

The first three would disappear once their energy was depleted. The latter, however, was a true natural disaster.

Moira Lynch looked at the information sent back by the Red Celestial Eye.

A few years ago, The Crimson Dominion had dumped wastewater into the ocean. Now that The Crimson Dominion was gone, Moira Lynch planned to use purifying moss to cleanse the seawater for the sake of the innocent marine life.

However, according to the information brought back by the Red Celestial Eye, the Crystal Stones, despite their astonishing destructive power, also possessed a purifying force.

That part of the ocean had now been restored to its pre-pollution state.

As for the volcanic eruption, Moira Lynch could do nothing about it.

「Three days later.」 The livestream was cut, and the world returned to peace.

Back in her room, Moira Lynch examined the items brought back by the Red Celestial Eye: a red telephone receiver that could call anyone regardless of distance.

There was also a compass-like device, part of a set with the red receiver, which could teleport the person on the other end of the line to the user’s location.

’Killing those two beforehand was the right choice, after all.’

Besides these two items, there was one last thing, a device about the size of a soccer ball.

[Interstellar Live-Streaming Device: The latest equipment developed by Apex Technologies. Capable of broadcasting from anywhere, at any time. Can adapt to any harsh weather conditions and convert wind, electrical, and solar power into its own energy source.]

In short, it was something you could use to livestream.
