Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging
Chapter 214: One More Is Insignificant, One Less Is Just Right
After some negotiation, Moira Lynch and Redlight successfully closed the deal.
The price Moira Lynch offered them was incredibly low—almost half of what she charged in her shop.
When Redlight saw the price, he was stunned. He thought Moira Lynch must have made a mistake and immediately agreed to and completed the transaction without a second thought, terrified she might change her mind.
[Redlight: Are we using the same transaction method as before?]
[SoySauceDrunkard: No need. Come to the fifth floor of my shop. It’s a VIP room; you can just trade here directly.]
This VIP room was something Moira Lynch had set up specifically for large-volume trades. She’d forgotten about it, but after recalling its existence, she spent another ten thousand Gold Coins to get the system to approve it.
Less than two minutes after Moira Lynch sent her message, a notification of a successful transaction came from the shop.
’That fast?’
And afterward, Redlight didn’t pester her about other potions. ’This isn’t his style at all.’
Previously, Redlight had been stuck to her like glue.
Little did he know, Redlight was acting this way because he thought Moira Lynch had priced the items incorrectly. He was afraid she’d realize her mistake and demand more money, so he scurried off as fast as he could.
However, what he didn’t know was that as long as she had enough time, she could have as many Awakening Potions as she wanted.
The Pharmacy Box could produce ten thousand vials a day, plus a random thousand vials of different potions, at absolutely no cost to her.
’You think you’re getting a great deal, but I’m definitely not losing out.’
Meanwhile, at the base, Redlight stared excitedly at the neatly stacked cases of Awakening Potions before him.
A portion would be kept at the base for its warriors to use for their awakening. The rest would be distributed to the other major bases and the border, to help the warriors stationed there awaken.
"Sir, can these potions really allow us to awaken painlessly?"
"They can." Redlight nodded. "Load these onto the transport vehicles and dispatch a Mecha unit as an escort. Be extremely careful along the way. We absolutely cannot afford any mistakes with this batch of Awakening Potions."
"Yes, sir!"
Just then, Chase Shepard walked in. As he watched batch after batch of Awakening Potions being shipped out, he couldn’t suppress the smile on his face.
"Timothy Murphy, you’ve done very well this time. It seems SoySauceDrunkard really has our country’s best interests at heart, to sell us the potions at such a low price."
"Um, boss," Redlight said, feeling a little sheepish. "I think SoySauceDrunkard might have priced them incorrectly."
Hearing this, Chase Shepard shot him a look of disdain. "You think everyone is like you?"
"By the way, contact SoySauceDrunkard again. Inquire about the planet data being auctioned next month, and while you’re at it, ask when the next batch of Awakening Potions will be available for trade."
"The next batch?"
The one hundred ninety thousand units was already shocking enough. Honestly, Redlight figured that even if SoySauceDrunkard had any left, it would only be a small amount for her regular shop sales.
"We suspect SoySauceDrunkard has access to a major source of Awakening Potions. Timothy Murphy, this is an opportunity for Cathaya to rise. We absolutely cannot pass it up."
Five minutes later, Redlight sent another message.
[Redlight: Mr. Lynch, when is the next batch of Awakening Potions? Also, when can you give us the planet data? We’d like to prepare in advance.]
Seeing this, Moira Lynch thought for a moment.
[SoySauceDrunkard: The next batch of Awakening Potions will be next month. The quantity depends on the situation, but it should be around two hundred thousand. As for the planet data, you’ll have to wait a little longer.]
"She really has more!"
Redlight was completely dumbfounded.
He turned to the short-haired staff member beside him. "What’s the situation in the shop? How much did we manage to grab?"
The short-haired staff member shook his head. "SoySauceDrunkard placed purchasing limits on many of the potions. We fought hard but only managed to snag about half of them. The entire pharmacy section is completely sold out now."
Redlight nodded upon hearing this. ’Half is already very good.’
All in all, Cathaya was still the biggest beneficiary this time.
...
The next day, at six in the morning, she opened her eyes.
First, she collected the ten thousand Awakening Potions that the Pharmacy Box produced for the day, then she stocked the one thousand randomly generated potions in her shop.
She turned on her phone, listening to the news while getting out of bed to stretch her limbs.
"According to experts, they have identified another twenty-three previously unseen species of unknown insects. So far, the number of unknown insect species has reached nearly two hundred."
"Not all bugs are harmful. Learn the various uses of insects."
"Five mind-blowingly delicious ways to eat bugs."
"SoySauceDrunkard’s ’Don’t Miss It’ shop has restocked its potions again."
"The Crimson Dominion claims they will soon uncover the true identity of SoySauceDrunkard."
"Omnivarsia: SoySauceDrunkard is one of our Omnivarsian people. The shameless Cathayans have kidnapped him."
Moira Lynch: ...
"Patience, keep a close watch on The Crimson Dominion. Also, send a Red Celestial Eye over there."
"Yes."
After Snowy ate the Red Heaven Pearl as a snack, the Red Celestial Eye merged with her spiritual power, and Moira Lynch naturally learned how to use it.
The Red Celestial Eye could not only monitor people but also launch attacks, making it a deadly weapon.
At the same time, it could also carry a portion of Moira Lynch’s spiritual power.
"Wait." Moira Lynch took out a purple, a cyan, and a blue Crystal Stone from her space. "Take these as well."
If the other party didn’t know when to back off, she wouldn’t mind if Caelus had one less country.
As far as Caelus was concerned, the planet wouldn’t miss The Crimson Dominion if it were gone. In fact, it might be for the best.
After giving the order, she stopped paying attention. She was quite busy, after all; she had to go investigate the situation on several other planets.
After saying a quick goodbye to Shane Rhodes and the others, a black Teleportation Gate appeared in front of Moira Lynch.
After entering the Teleportation Gate, the smell of seawater washed over her.
Moira Lynch’s landing point was on an island.
The island wasn’t large; it was the kind you could see the other side of at a glance.
However, this place would make a good temporary base for the Isle Turtle.
Moira Lynch first released the two Cetabeasts, then put the Blue Electric Eels, Knotweed Kelp, and Blue Shrimp Seaweed into the water.
Then, she had the Cetabeasts take them to a suitable location.
Afterward, Moira Lynch tossed a Sea Pearl into her mouth and dove headfirst into the ocean.
The condition of the seawater was better than she had expected. Although there weren’t many living creatures, there wasn’t much pollution either. There was just a strange smell in the water.
But this was an easy problem to solve. She just needed to take out some of the Purifying Seaweed from her space.
