Apocalypse Arrives: I Become a Powerhouse by Scavenging
Chapter 212: Major Shop Upgrade
After a "heated" discussion (which was really just Moira Lynch’s one-sided nagging), the System finally agreed to let her renovate the shop herself.
The shop, now at level five, was no longer just a panel. It was like a holographic projection; clicking on it was like stepping into a real store.
After careful consideration, Moira Lynch divided the shop into four floors, creating four different sections.
They were the Food Section, which would hold various foods like Knotweed Kelp, Full Vines, Qio Vines, and Soldier Food Rattans, as well as the milk and various cheeses brought back from the first game.
The animals brought back from Serene Ranch were thriving, and the dairy cows had already started producing milk. This meant the nearly-expired milk was no longer needed.
Although it wouldn’t expire while stored in her space, it was better to sell it off quickly to avoid wasting storage.
The Medicine Section, for storing various healing drugs and the different types of Medicine created by the Pharmacy Box.
In addition to the ten thousand designated Awakening Potions she received daily, Moira Lynch could also get one thousand bottles of different types of Medicine every day.
The prices of these Medicines would vary based on their effects, and they would generally be more expensive than ordinary drugs since they all took effect immediately.
There were also Body Building Aloe Vera and Repair Aloe Vera. Although there were corresponding Medicines for these, the Medicines themselves were relatively more expensive.
The Weapon Section, for the previously acquired Exoskeleton Mechas, Flying Devices, and any future weapons Moira Lynch might craft herself.
Now that her spiritual power had reached level three, she could finally use the metals, jades, and various gemstones she had collected before.
The last was the Department Section, which held items like Water-cooling Stones, Chimefin scales, the bedding collected from the Crino Prairie, various ready-made clothes, and fabrics.
Among them, the Food Section was the largest, while the other three were about the same size.
「Meanwhile, on the game forums.」
[WinterGeranium: Holy shit, everyone go check out SoySauceDrunkard’s shop! A master is a master for a reason.]
[WateredDownRomance: What’s going on, what’s going on!!]
[NoSlackers: I just saw it and came back. All I can say is, I really want to latch onto her thigh.]
[AddSugar: This is insane. It actually feels like I’m walking through a mall.]
[ImALittleStar: After seeing this, I finally get it. The master wasn’t trying to fill her shop out of OCD before. A hundred items was just the shop’s limit, not her limit!]
[MustBePure: Ahhh, I saw the Awakening Potions! The description says they guarantee a 100% successful awakening with no pain, but the price is just too high!]
[ILikeCats: I have a Wind Talent, and this Wind God Potion is a perfect match for me!]
[LetTheBunnySeeHowCrazyThisGets: There are even Life-extending Potions! One bottle can extend your life by one to three years? For real? I won’t believe it unless SoySauceDrunkard gives me a bottle to try.]
[PickledMoonlight: To the person above me: dream on.]
[Princess Pacifica: Am I the only one curious about how SoySauceDrunkard gets all this stuff? She can’t actually be an alien, can she?]
[IAmUltraman: After looking around, the Food Section is still the best place for me. Several new food items were added today, and there’s even fresh fruit!]
Before the shop was upgraded, Moira Lynch could only prioritize items with high demand, like food. Things like clothing, on the other hand, didn’t sell as well.
Now that the shop was upgraded and had more space, that problem was perfectly solved.
Items she never had the chance to list before were now being put up for sale.
For a time, Moira Lynch’s shop was practically overflowing with people.
Some people wanted to go in and have a look even if they couldn’t afford to buy anything.
Besides the Food Section, the most popular area was the Medicine Section, followed by the Department Section. The Weapon Section had the fewest visitors, probably because there were only a few types of weapons available, and they were so expensive that ordinary people couldn’t afford them.
Additionally, Moira Lynch had also requested a special privilege from the System: her shop would no longer be open only to players.
Moira Lynch had originally wanted to open it to everyone, but upon reflection, the number of people would be too large. She wouldn’t be able to meet the demand, nor could her shop handle the traffic. As a compromise, she opened it to everyone who had awakened a talent.
Some people had originally been players, but after failing a game, they lost their player status and could no longer enter the mall to buy things.
’One step at a time. Once I’ve developed a few planets, I’ll be able to open the shop to everyone someday.’
Glancing at the Medicine Section, Moira Lynch sent the Healing Device over to offer free health check-ups, but there were only ten slots available each day.
People always have that mentality of wanting to get a good deal; they can’t walk away from something free. If the check-up showed everything was normal, that was fine. But if it revealed some kind of illness, they would definitely be tempted to buy Medicine to treat it.
Just as Moira Lynch finished arranging things in the shop and was about to leave, she heard Kai York’s voice from the first floor.
"Moira. Come out for a second, someone’s here for you."
"Coming."
Arriving on the first floor, she saw Everrise sitting on the living room sofa.
When he saw Moira Lynch appear, Everrise shot up from the sofa and smiled. "Hello, we meet again."
Although it was confirmed that the awakening process for a D-rank Awakening Stone was extremely painful and had a very high failure rate, a D-rank Awakening Stone wasn’t just an Awakening Stone—it also represented a game slot.
After learning the purpose of his visit, Moira Lynch didn’t waste any words and readily took out the D-rank Awakening Stone.
In return, Everrise took out a healing item. It was called an item, but it was actually just a single white feather.
Information about its corresponding talent immediately appeared in Moira Lynch’s mind.
[Healing Wings: A Healing System talent. Possesses the ability of flight. Feathers are constantly being shed from the body. Fallen feathers have the effect of healing injuries. The healing effect of naturally shed feathers is vastly different from that of plucked feathers.]
’Judging by the state of this feather, it must have been shed naturally.’
Besides the D-rank Awakening Stone, Everrise had also come this time on behalf of Shane Rhodes and the others.
Shane Rhodes’s group had brought back quite a few good things from the game this time.
They had only postponed the trade because Moira Lynch hadn’t come out of the game yet.
Since their instance this time was a kindergarten, most of the things they brought back were child-related.
Although these items couldn’t be used, they held great research value.
While they were taking inventory of the items, Everrise looked at Moira Lynch several times as if he wanted to say something but held back.
Moira Lynch understood. "I only brought back some Full Vines and a Black Wolf."
Hearing this, Everrise looked a little disappointed.
"Oh, right. Here, take some of this."
As she spoke, Moira Lynch pretended to take a bundle of grass roots from her Space Button.
