Another Stupid Isekai

Chapter 612 - Day UNKNOWN: Possibility For A Positive Change

He got all happy a bit too early since I was not giving it my all. The previous fights made me a bit rusty, as they were way too easy, so even knowing that this won’t be such a piece of cake, I still didn’t unleash the full power sleeping inside my tiny, compared to his, body.

He charged immediately, trying to ram me into crashing into the wall behind, but I dodged to the side and delivered a low kick to his thigh, which was strong enough to make him trip and collide with the concrete.

The crowd above laughed, and the alien picked himself in the cloud of dust, just to close the distance again, but this time with more patience, and much slower.

I waited for a moment when he was between taking another step, so his balance was off, and leaped forward to reach his head, he dodged my powerful swing, but I got him with an unexpected knee to the face. As he stumbled back, I still in the air turned, and delivered another kick from above, and hit him in the head.

He managed to react. He grabbed my leg and slammed me to the ground, which was not that bad, but hurt a little. I kicked his hand with the other leg and escaped by tumbling.

As I looked at him again there was a bit of blood on his face coming out of the nose, and one eye. I dusted myself, as he carefully observed looking for an opportunity. It became obvious that the fight won’t be as easy as he thought.

He finally noticed that I was faster than him. I couldn’t blame him that it took so long because I was still limiting myself. In my current situation, it was better to have some hidden cards in my sleeve, than none. Who knew, maybe in the future there would be an opportunity for me to run away somehow.

Since he wasn’t closing the distance I went for it, just marching ahead with confidence. As soon as I entered his reach, he swung at me with a quick one-two, but I dodged easily. I got used to his speed and figured out how his muscles were moving, which allowed me to read him better.

Seemed like the passive skills were still working, since they didn’t need activation at all.

Then he tried to throw me at the wall, but at the last moment I managed to grab the armor on his forearms and slip of his hand, then I jumped on his back and delivered a few powerful punches to his right side, cracking the protective plates, as he did his best to tear me off.

I got slammed on the sand, and he rose his loot to stomp on me, but I just pushed myself off the ground and escaped, gaining some distance.

With his leg injured, and the hole on his side, he didn’t look as keen as before. Anger and anxiety started to slowly crawl on his face. His eyes were now fully red because some of the blood vessels in them just popped.

I quickly glanced at the stands above, still hoping to see Yagg, but he was not present. The audience though watched the incredible battle quite thrilled with the display of skills they were not used to.

I decided the time to end this came and started moving forward focusing my attention back on the opponent. He screamed and charged trying to feint a punch, and then to hit me with a knee, but I saw through it and avoided it, then used the opening to counter with a punch to his exposed side, where the crack in the armor was located.

I got him, and some bone cracked making him stumble and creating another opportunity for me. I rushed forward, faked a punch, to go low, and grabbed his leg to trip him. I ended up picking up the guy completely and shoving him to the side. He tumbled and ended up on one knee, but I was not going to give him any breaks, and followed immediately, so as his head rose to look at me, as was right next delivering a knee to his nose.

The impact was strong, and the bone cracked. He went limp for a second, then tried to pick himself up, but I pinned his head down with my leg. Continuing this battle could end with him dead at this point.

He didn’t have the strength to fight me back and just gave up.

The crowd exploded with wild cheers and screams. They clearly didn’t know my name or race, because all I could hear were inarticulable screams.

With those, I left the arena as the gate slid open revealing Yagg already waiting for me in the corridor.

– Good job – he said simply.

– Was that your work? – I asked pointing with my thumb behind me, at the large alien still lying on the sand.

– No. A different Calludin decided that he wants to have a piece of you and he brought a few gladiators. At your level, you still don’t have much to worry about, but the next few days might be slightly more interesting.

I snorted. For me, it sounded more like trouble.

– You should be happy – said Yagg, hearing my reaction.

– Why?

– Becouse the stage is not set correctly, and winning those amazing for the local public duels will bring you fame. Fame means getting out of this hole. You stopped murdering warriors, and give them a good fight. This will buy you their support.

– And you are going to let it slide?

– No. I already tried to stop it, but the man who brought them here didn’t listen. He always was an idiot – Yagg sighed.

Then he walked me all the way to my little cell in the living area.
