Another Stupid Isekai

Chapter 48 - Day CLIII

After a restless night, I ate a quick breakfast and made my way to the cliff. I approached it slowly in fear of orcs still being there, and I was actually right. They left two of them there. Those guys even didn’t stand in the open and hid in the forest. I almost missed them.

Now I had a problem. Fighting them directly was not a good idea, because there could be still more of them closer to the cliff. On top of that, I was positive that I can’t sneak past them. I could only take a risk, and try to run away if it didn’t work out, or just walk away.

For me, only one option existed. I charged at them. They actually were expecting this, probably because they noticed me already, and crawled off the bushes while holding their swords. It was a full head-on fight. I didn’t try to block incoming attacks after closing the distance and went with a full-on jump. With my left hand, I reduced some of the kinetic force, and rolled over the shoulder, while with my right I tried to not lose my weapon. Then I rolled on the ground to the left to take cover behind the closest tree. They actually split up, to get me from both sides. The that was in front of me tried to chop my head off as soon, as he saw me, but I managed to duck under his sword, stab him in the food, and do another roll. He yelled, more of anger than pain.

[0)ᴠʟ The one behind me rushed after, but I managed to turn a bit, jump, and yet again hid behind the tree. Before he could approach, I got out and did a little feint. He tried to block the attack with a powerful swing but instead hit the tree trunk. I just stabbed him in the throat, pulled my pudao, spun it, and cut his head off. The other one was just behind him, ready to strike, so there was no time to celebrate. I had to dodge, by stepping backward. One time, two times, then three. He was not gonna stop. I probably enraged him to the point he lost his mind. I waited for an opening and stabbed him in the eye. Unfortunately not deep enough. He was still going. Swinging with all his might, but for me, it was actually easy to dodge, so I waited for another opportunity, and this time stabbed him in the throat. He still kept going. With the next couple of strikes, his movement became way duller because of heavy blood loss, so the next opening was way bigger, allowing me to finish him off with a strong slash.

But just as before, there was no time to celebrate. I could hear orcs yelling from the cliffside, so I picked up both crystals left after my opponents and sprinted to the cart. Now I had enough information, and even crystals.

I could still hear orcs yelling from afar, probably trying to find me. There was no way for me to stay there anymore. I packed everything quickly and rushed back to the city. Half marching, half running.

I encountered a few groups of goblins on the way back, but there is no reason to write more about it. I just earned 23 crystals, and finally arrived at the city a few hours after dark. Exhausted, and in a bit of pain from all that rolling. I really needed some training with opponents my size. Until now I only fought goblins, rats, and few wolves. Everything was shorter and had a shorter reach than me. Orcs were completely different, so my fighting style was of no use. I needed to work on it if I ever wanted to hunt those guys.

I parked the cart in front of some of Wuxia’s buildings and asked members to inform Zhang Yong of my return. I also told them, that I’m gonna come and report to him early in the morning, cause I was too tired to do it right away. I went to bed without even eating. Of course, I took both orcs crystals with me.

Day ended with 3645 points on my account, 31 goblin crystals, and 2 orcs crystals.
