Another Stupid Isekai

Chapter 410 - Day MDCCCXXXIX

I really didn’t have any plans for the day, so I started it slowly, by spending some time relaxing in the bathhouse, then in the cafeteria. After that, I went to the city center.

The day was nice and sunny as always. Most of the people already departed. I noticed soldiers of India making their way to the training grounds. Since the device was free, I used it, through one of the two access points.

One day in the future my mom was to visit, and I needed a place for her to stay in. I couldn’t show her the room in the barracks, and tell her that I live there. I had my home, although it was kinda terrible since I had some spare points, there was no reason to not upgrade it a bit.

[0)ᴠʟ I ended up rebuilding the whole thing. I made two rooms, both next to each other, a small kitchen on the left end, and a bathroom on the right end. Everything is connected by a single corridor. After some thought, I also added a staircase leading to the basement. A single big chamber, where I wanted to make my man cave, and store all the alien stuff I at that point was keeping in my vault.

After that was done I bought some furniture and placed it there using the device. A table in the kitchen, few chairs, a wall filled with cabinets, a skink, and an ingle oven. I bought a microwave, toaster, a frying pan, and some pots. Also some cutlery.

In the room I just placed kingsize beds, one big cabinet for clothes, and for some reason TV, just to have it if at some point it would be available here.

The bathroom I filled with the usual stuff, and then took care of the plumbing, and electricity. Lighting, and other necessary stuff. I also had to deposit some points for water and energy.

I ended up paying 300 000 points for everything, together with the deposits.

Tam was with me this whole time. Sometimes I carried him, and sometimes he just walked around, pecking the ground for nonexisting bugs. I fed him some stuff from my vault so he wouldn’t be hungry the whole day.

Finished with that, I just went to check the house, to see how it looked, and It did just as I described. I left all the books I had in my vault in the basement, and then returned to the city center.

I quickly discovered that something happened, as there was a small crowd gathered around a bunch of people. Mainly craftsmen, Velvet Lotus employees, and few hunters that didn’t leave to hunt. I recognized the individuals in the center of attention. It was Hatta, Jayadeva, Aisha, and Will. I rushed towards them, to hear what they were talking about.

– … this means we are now technically allowed to leave, and visit India legally. You have to remember, that first, you need your paperwork done. You can get the temporary perming in the gate hall right now, and then you need to go to Dwarka, and get the permanent documentation. Please remember, that the officials are still setting up as we speak, so do not rush – explained Jayadeva. – Along with the temporary permit, you will be assigned with an assistant to help you with communication, the necessary paperwork, and travel around the country. Right now there is a priority list since it’s all in the making, so the hunters, and people of India, like me, have the priority over the rest, so please keep that in mind.

He was bombarded with questions. People wanted to know how this was done, and everything. Some even asked him about the interview he gave to the TV station. He started explaining everything. The whole thing was in plans for several days already, but the government of India wanted people to first know more about us, and the interview was a perfect opportunity to let them learn. It was also the perfect moment to announce the whole thing.

Technically we could even leave to the other countries, but we were asked to not do that yet. Not to mention people here didn’t have their documents and any money.

The whole assistant thing was just to make sure the officials will know where we are. I didn’t mind, though.

– I know some of you might feel rushed to live in this place, but everything is in the early stages. I know you miss your families, but we spent here years, waiting for the chance to go back to earth. Now we did, and I believe we can wait a bit longer to do everything in a correct way – said Aisha.

– Most of you are not from India. You might not understand the culture, especially after being here for so long, where things worked in a different way. That’s why I urge you to remain in the city to avoid the possibility of causing any scandals. We need to avoid those at all costs right now when the world back there is still getting accustomed to us. I know you all wouldn’t do such a thing on purpose, but there are other people out there, and some of them might have malicious intent for us all – said Hatta. – So again, before everything is made properly, I urge you to remain in Ark, and reduce going outside to a minimum.

– There are talks with other countries, so do not worry. Every single of you will have the opportunity to return to your country at some point. It might take a week, two, or even a few months, but be patient – added Jayadeva.

I got why they were so concerned about our people getting in trouble. I decided to stay away from this and wait until I would be able to legally travel to my country, and visit my mother. I hoped that the EU would strike some kind of deal with India soon.

I probably could get involved, but I was afraid of causing a mess nobody would be able to fix. The most reasonable thing I could do was to just wait for the matters to resolve themselves.

I spent the rest of the day kinda wasting my time, checking how things were in the gate hall. Some people showed up, to get the permit, and get outside. There weren’t that many of them. Mostly people from India, a couple of hunters who clearly wanted to get outside, and that was it.

The day came to an end with 3 547 029 points remaining on my account, and 19 class points.
