Another Stupid Isekai

799 T.D.o.N.B: The color of his eye

The chasm was slowly getting narrower and narrower as I descended hundreds of feet below the surface, rushing down the path and spiraling down the walls of this massive hole, and cutting down everything on my way.

The cyclops eventually changed a little bit. The ones I encountered deeper had tattoos covering their bodies. The skin color also began switching from a natural color for humans, more towards the variations of blue.

With this progression, the beams shot from the cyclopses’ eyes also got stronger, malting the stone around me, as they tried to kill me without any success on that field. I was too fast for them to focus on, and that seemed to be a core necessity to shoot the beams.

Right before my encounter with the boss, I found a group that had pure light-blue skin, and those dar tattoos swirling around their arms and torsos, to reach the head climbing the next. They all ended up wrapping themselves around the single eye.

Those guys were much stronger than the rest I’ve met so far, but there were only a few of them. After killing that lovely bunch I found the very bottom of the chasm. And in the dark middle of it, was a hole, with a staircase spiraling down the narrow pit.

Obviously, I went there, and I didn’t even need light, since it led to a chamber that had its own shining source.

It was a round space, and the staircase was actually carved into one of the walls, eventually turning and leading to an opening from which I could see the whole space.

Chamber had those beautiful blue crystals covering the wall on the other side. The floor was paved with large plates, which could also be very well carved from the floor itself. They were covered in runes, but not all. Some had pictures on them. Pictures of the world tree, but not only. Very few were showing a throne.

“That’s the throne I saw out there”, I told myself when I spotted it, slowly moving towards the boss, who was standing with his back to me, facing the clusters of crystals.

It was a big boy. His skin was blue, and he had holden jewelry. Golden armbands wrapped around his biceps, and legs. The loins were covered by a simple flap of leather. The tattoos I’ve already seen on some of the cyclopses above were also very much present on his body. They thickly entwined especially his arms, and the back, slowly climbing up to wrap themselves around a hole in his head, which was left after a gouged eye. Instead, the socket was filled with a gemstone. Cut and polished nicely, resembling the missing eye.

I noticed all that when I got close enough, and he sensed me, turning around to face the intruder.

He reacted without any hesitation, leaning forward slightly, and clenching his fingers into tight fists, then shooting a powerful beam at me. I avoided it with a quick jump, but the place I stood at just a moment before, was decimated by a burning sheaf of pure, blue, energy, which just melted the floor, destroying the plates and also fuzing some of them together.

He followed my moves easily, switching his attention, and shooting another beam. I avoided it again, but my mind got already focused on some experiments I wished to do. It was this stupid wish to play around, instead of focusing on finishing the job fast.

I didn’t evade the third shot, instead putting a barrier in front of myself. Since it was a makeshift one, I had to pump a little bit more energy into it, compared to the one I would normally carefully craft, but it still was more than enough to protect me from his attack.

The boss might seem lame in my depiction, but he was strong. He would melt anybody from Petrograd, except me. He could probably melt any other boss I’ve actually encountered so far, that’s how powerful his eye attack was.

To not prolong this unnecessarily further, I shadow walked behind him, and with a swift move pulled the pudao from my vault, swinging it in a single motion. The slash cut him in half. Both parts after slowly sliding apart turned into smoke.

A crystal dropped to the ground, and I picked it up to shove it into my vault alongside the weapon. Then I flew back to the surface.

My next move was to spend quite a moment in the air to check for other places around, but I didn’t find anything, so all that time was completely wasted. The only thing good which came out of it was the fact that I now knew that I might expect three new places on each side.

Like that, I approached the quarter being rats’ territory.

Flying above the swamps I quickly reached the lands I was supposed to reach. There were some changes to the landscape. I’d bought the ship where the pirate dungeon was, and the murky water around it was going a bit further than I remembered, soon changing into a waterfall that led to a valley.

Very familiar valley. that was the spot I remembered from encountering the water elementals. Already have a good idea about that place, I cleared it quickly, emerging on the other side, but unfortunately for me, the dome was ending there, so I had to search somewhere else for the other spots.

Moving slightly closer toward the goblin territory, I noticed that the swamps were still going that way quite strongly. The water was becoming deeper, and it all had this green fog above it.

I obviously approached and inhaled a bit of it. It smelled horribly of decay. It was a violent, acidic fetor, that was so terrible, I had to force myself to go further that land. Fortunately for me, I got a great idea about how to deal with it.

I used some air magic, to push it away from me, and it helped a lot.
