738 T.D.o.N.B: Darkness inside
I shadow walked past the fence, and slowly started closing the distance between me and the building, walking on a paved road. Soon a bunch of guys popped from the inside, and they all were armed, although the weapons reminded in the holsters by their belts, or under their jackets.
– This is private property, please leave – said one of them.
He was a buff guy, wearing sunglasses. By his posture, I came to the conclusion that he had two handguns under the jacket of his suit.
– I’m looking – I pulled the piece of paper acquired from Vato, then quickly scanned through the names and addresses. – Don Vicente. I was told I can find him here.
Those worked like a charm, all of them suddenly pulled their guns out.
– Who the fuck are you?! – asked the sunglasses guy.
– My name is Peter. I’m just a regular guy, but I need to know if Don Vicente is available – was my response.
– Who the fuck send you?! – he asked.
I started to think this might not lead anywhere. I had this feeling he wouldn’t just answer my question, but I didn’t want to just use force, because first I wanted to be sure that my target was there. Otherwise, I would face the possibility of chasing him throughout the whole continent if not more.
– Vato gave me this address – I said.
It wasn’t a lie. I never said he did that voluntarily.
– Vato? What the fuck does he want? If he wants to speak with the boss, he can come himself – said the bodyguard.
I rolled my eyes.
– I’m not here to speak for Vato. I’m here to speak for myself. Is Don Vicente here?
– Do you have a fucking death wish? – asked me some other guy.
I ignored him.
– No. The Don is not here. Now go, or you will get shot! – said the sunglasses guy.
It put me in a weird position, because I didn’t really believe him, but also violence still wasn’t really an option. I needed answers first, to move later.
I guess fate smiled upon me, because one of the windows upstairs opened, and a head popped out.
– Who the fuck is that guy? – asked a man in his fifties.
– Some idiot from Vato. We are handling it, boss – said one of the bodyguards.
– Are you Don Vicente?! – I yelled my question.
– If Vato wants to talk, then he can come himself. I’m not speaking with his underlings. Now leave before I tell my guys to shoot you, kid – he said in response.
– Muahahahahaha – left my mouth.
I guess I just couldn’t stop it. What happened later lasted maybe three to four seconds.
I shadow walked to each of the guards, and with very little movement, but using a lot of force to get the necessary speed, poked a hole in their skulls with my index finger. They collapsed immediately. This view made Don Vicente open his eyes wide out of fear. He closed the window, then vanished inside the room.
Too bad I was already there.
It was a big day room, with armchairs, a flat-screen TV on the wall, a couch, and a few small tables with some snacks on them. It was directly connected to the stairs leading to the first floor. A clear spot where the bodyguards liked to hand out. From the corner of my eye, I noticed the news on TV, but the program was put on mute.
As Don Vicente turned around, he noticed me. His reaction was quite funny. He threw his hands in the air and almost collapsed. Stumbling backward, he ended up hitting the window behind him.
He was a guy in his fifties, wearing a suit, except the jacket was taken down. The tucked shirt seemed expensive, and the golden cufflinks only added to that vibe. He also had an expensive watch.
Judging by his appearance,e he had to be around fifty, or maybe slightly more. Had a little belly, and wasn’t too tall, but his face was rather handsome. If not for the mustache, which didn’t really work for him.
– Hi – left my mouth.
– W-who a-are y-you?! W-who sent you?! – he almost yelled.
– I sent myself. You see… – I started, but didn’t finish immediately, as I took a short stroll to the closest armchair, to sit down. – The guy name Vato had this genius idea to try and kidnap my family. Well… He didn’t really want to kidnap them, but they happened to be with somebody else, who was the real target. Doesn’t really matter. The fact is, they were taken from me and treated poorly. So I freed them, and now, knowing that for killing your guys you might want to take revenge, I’m also hunting the rest of ‘La X’.
– I-i had nothing to do with this – he shook his head panting heavily.
– Look… I have a list here, from Vato. I know, I’m very persuasive. If you can add names to this list, then I’ll consider, maybe, possibly, not hurting you. This is the deal – I said, then pulled out the piece of paper with the names and addresses.
I gave it to him. He took it with a shaking hand, then quickly, ran through the text.
– I-i dan a-add the names! – he assured me.
– Great – I said and smiled. – Add them, and then I’ll think about your situation. I promise to consider the fact that you’ve helped me.
I was saying all that, but there was no way I was gonna let that guy go. Even a very slim chance, less than a single percent, of my family getting hurt by ‘La X’ looking for revenge, was unacceptable.
– I-i need something t-to write! – he said.
– Then find something – I said.
Watching me closely, he began moving. I followed him. He headed straight to a particular room, without hesitation opened the door, revealing an office of sorts.
It was quite dark there because there were no windows, just a small chandelier under the ceiling, which he turned on with a switch on the wall. The walls were mostly covered by the bookstands, but I doubted he was much of a reader. Even his desk didn’t seem that used, as most of it was occupied by decorative elements, Golden sculptures, and other knick-knacks of a similar sort.
He took a pen from the desktop, then quickly wrote the names and locations, then gave it back to me.
– T-those is all major people in ‘La X’ – he assured.
– Good – I said. – As we agreed, I will now consider what to do with you. You helped me, but sadly, the risk is too much, so you are going to die anyway.
As I said those words, I also used ‘Telekinesis’ to snap his neck. Then I got out and flew to look for more people to get rid of.
