"I am not moving a single muscle!" Ken promised lazily. He peeked his head around the stone. He pulled another bag of chips from his pocket. He opened the bag. "Please finish them off quickly. The damp air is making my suit itchy. I need to go back to the hotel soon."

Princess Iris assessed the dire situation. Her two fastest attackers were completely neutralized. Laxmi could not use fire. Naomi could not use wind. The aquatic golems marched closer. The monsters slammed their rusty tridents against the magical bubble again. The shield vibrated a little harder. They needed a perfect plan.

---

"We need a new strategy," Princess Iris commanded smoothly. She stood tall and confident. "Zinia. Luna. Ira. You three must take the lead. We need a coordinated elemental strike. You are our only offensive options."

Zinia cracked her knuckles loudly. A tough, confident grin spread across her face. "I can handle some wet rocks. Earth magic works perfectly underwater. I will crush them."

Zinia stomped her boots onto the smooth stone floor. The ground shook inside the bubble.

"Stone Traps!" Zinia roared deeply.

The ground beneath the aquatic golems cracked wide open. Deep, dark holes formed in the ancient stone outside the bubble. The golems stepped forward blindly. They fell directly into the holes. They sank into the rock up to their knees. The earth closed tightly around their legs. The stone held them firmly in place. They could not march forward anymore.

"They are totally stuck," Zinia laughed a booming laugh. She wiped a drop of sweat from her forehead. "But they are still swinging their weapons. We need to stop their arms. They might hit the bubble again."

"I will restrict their upper mobility," Ira stated in her flat, robotic voice. She stared blankly at the trapped monsters.

Ira stepped forward. Her pale face showed zero emotion. She raised her pale hands. The water outside the magical bubble responded to her call. She pulled moisture right through the shield effortlessly. She formed four long, high-pressure water whips. The water cracked like real leather.

Ira lashed the whips forward. The water moved with flawless precision. The whips wrapped tightly around the golems' broad chests. The water pinned their massive arms against their sides. The monsters struggled to break free. They pulled against the water. But they could not move their rusty tridents.

"Targets are bound," Ira reported blankly. She held her hands steady. She did not blink. "Their offensive capabilities are reduced to zero percent. They are completely immobilized."

Princess Iris smiled proudly. Her violet eyes shined with relief. "Excellent teamwork. You stopped their advance perfectly. Now we must deliver the final blow. Luna, it is your turn."

Luna sat on the dry ground inside the bubble. The lightning user rubbed her sleepy eyes. She let out a massive, dramatic yawn. She really wanted to take a nap. The loud noises of the battle bothered her.

"This is entirely too much work," Luna complained lazily. She slowly stood up. She pulled her knitted blanket tighter around her shoulders. She shuffled her feet. "I just want to go back to my soft bed. These monsters are very annoying. They ruined my quiet time."

Luna pointed her index fingers at the trapped monsters. Bright yellow electricity sparked around her hands. The air smelled like ozone. She squinted her eyes at the dark shapes outside the bubble.

"Zap," Luna mumbled lazily.

A brilliant, blinding yellow lightning bolt shot from her fingers. The electricity zipped across the room. The lightning hit Ira's water whips outside the bubble. The water conducted the electricity perfectly. The massive voltage surged directly into the wet stone bodies of the aquatic golems.

The golems shook violently. Bright sparks flew from their coral-covered chests. Their glowing red eyes flickered rapidly. The immense electricity overloaded their magical cores entirely. The monsters stopped moving completely. The red light died out. They turned back into lifeless, ordinary statues. They were totally defeated.

The battle was completely over. The coordinated elemental attack worked flawlessly.

Ken peeked his head out from behind the large stone pillar. He held a potato chip near his mouth. He looked at the frozen golems. He smiled a goofy, relaxed smile.

"Wow," Ken said casually. He popped the chip into his mouth. Crunch. "That was a perfect combo attack. It is exactly like a team-up move in a video game. You guys pressed all the right buttons. The boss is totally defeated. I give that attack a ten out of ten."

Ken decided he needed to contribute to the victory. He wanted to look like a team player. He stayed safely behind his pillar. He pointed his right index finger at a frozen golem in the back of the group. He squinted one eye. He stuck his tongue out of the corner of his mouth.

"Pew," Ken whispered softly. The word made absolutely no sound.

A tiny, incredibly weak cyan spark floated out of his fingertip. It drifted lazily across the room. It moved at the speed of a falling leaf. The cyan spark tapped the frozen golem directly on the knee. It did absolutely nothing visible. The golem was already completely paralyzed. The spark just fizzled out harmlessly against the wet stone.

"Take that," Ken bragged happily. He dusted his hands off on his pants. He slouched his shoulders. "I totally got him. My long-range support is absolutely flawless. I am basically a master sniper. You guys are very lucky I am here."

Naomi walked over to the stone pillar. She looked down at Ken. She chuckled a warm, genuine chuckle. She shook her head in pure amusement.

"You are very brave from behind that rock, Ken," Naomi smiled warmly. "Your tiny spark really saved the day. We could not have done it without you."

"I am incredibly brave," Ken agreed lazily. He stood up slowly. He shoved his hands deep into his pockets. His untucked shirt flapped slightly. "I provided vital cover fire. It is a very stressful job. My finger is actually very tired. I need to rest my hand."

Laxmi walked over and laughed loudly. She crossed her arms. "You are totally ridiculous, slacker. You just hid the entire time. But I am glad you are safe. I did not want you to turn into fish food."

"Safety is my primary objective in life," Ken smiled broadly. He let out a long yawn. "Avoiding cardio is my second objective. I am succeeding at both today."

Sayma checked her glowing blue crystal again. She pushed her thick glasses up. She opened her neat notebook. She clicked her pen. She evaluated the path ahead.

"The path is entirely clear now," Sayma reported politely. "The automated guardians are offline. Their magical signatures are fading. We can proceed deeper into the labyrinth. The weather relic should be located in the next chamber. The tracking signal is very strong."

Princess Iris nodded gracefully. She sheathed her silver rapier. The blade clicked softly into place. Her violet eyes shone with pure determination. She looked at her team.
