Olivia pulled a silver key from her pocket. She unlocked the padlock. She pulled the large doors wide open.

Ken peeked his head inside the building. His eyes went completely wide. His jaw dropped open.

The room was absolutely massive. It was the main storage area for the entire 13th Unit. And it was a complete, total disaster.

Dust coated every single surface. Giant spider webs hung from the tall ceiling. Hundreds of large wooden boxes sat in messy, chaotic piles. Broken training dummies lay on the floor. Rusty swords and old spears leaned against the walls in tangled heaps. Empty glass potion bottles scattered across the wooden floorboards. The air smelled like old dirt and stale sweat.

"Oh my goodness," Ken gasped out loud. He took a massive step backward. He pointed a shaking finger at the messy room. "This is not a storage area. This is a high-level dungeon. There are definitely monsters living in those boxes. I am not going in there. I do not have the proper gear for a boss raid."

Olivia crossed her arms. She stood perfectly straight. She glared at him.

"This is your punishment," Olivia stated coldly. "You will clean this entire storage area. You will organize the weapons. You will stack the boxes neatly. You will sweep the floors until they shine. You will not leave this building until the job is completely finished."

Ken grabbed his own chest. He put on a highly exaggerated expression of pure agony.

"You are sending me to my doom!" Ken yelled. His voice cracked with fake panic. "Look at the size of those spider webs! The spiders in there probably have health bars! I am just a simple, fragile boy! My arms are like wet noodles! I cannot lift those giant boxes!"

"You will manage," Olivia replied smoothly. She did not fall for his acting. "There are brooms and cleaning cloths in the corner. Get to work."

Ken realized he could not escape. He slouched his shoulders. He let out a massive, face-stretching yawn.

"Can I use a broom-mancing technique?" Ken asked lazily. He gave her a goofy grin. "I can just hypnotize the broom to sweep by itself. The broom can clean the floor. I will sit outside and supervise the broom. It is a very efficient leadership strategy."

"No magic," Olivia commanded sharply. "You will use your own two hands. Physical labor builds character. It builds discipline. You severely lack both."

"I have plenty of character," Ken mumbled. He dragged his feet into the dusty room. "I am a very colorful character. The audience loves me."

Olivia stepped inside the room. She did not help him. She grabbed a small wooden stool. She wiped the dust off the stool with a clean handkerchief. She sat down near the open doors. She rested her silver-tipped spear across her lap. She kept her strict, dark eyes totally focused on him.

"I will be watching your every move," Olivia announced. "Begin."

Ken sighed again. He shuffled over to the corner. He grabbed a long wooden broom. He looked at the broom like it was a highly confusing, alien artifact. He held it awkwardly in his hands.

He walked to the center of the room. He looked at the thick layer of gray dust on the floor. He raised the broom high into the air.

"Dust Sweeping Slash!" Ken yelled loudly.

He swung the broom wildly like a massive sword. He smacked the bristles against the floorboards.

The result was totally catastrophic.

A gigantic cloud of thick gray dust exploded into the air. The dust flew everywhere. It completely filled the room. Ken instantly started coughing. He waved his free hand frantically in front of his face. He squeezed his eyes shut.

"Ahhhh! My eyes! I am blinded!" Ken cried out dramatically. He stumbled backward. He dropped the broom. It clattered on the wood. "The dust is attacking me! It has a very high area-of-effect range! I need a healing potion!"

Olivia did not cough. She simply waved a hand to clear the air in front of her face. She glared at the coughing boy.

"You are doing that incorrectly on purpose," Olivia scolded sternly. "Pick up the broom. Sweep the floor gently. Do not swing it like a weapon."

"I was trying to use a Wind Breathing technique!" Ken argued lazily. He rubbed his nose. "I thought I could blow all the dust out the door in one single move. It was a very solid anime strategy. The physics engine in this room is completely broken."

"Stop talking nonsense," Olivia ordered. "Sweep."

Ken groaned. He picked up the broom. He started sweeping the floor very, very slowly. He pushed the dust into a small pile. He moved like a snail. He wanted her to know exactly how miserable he felt. The long punishment had officially begun.

---

Ken Eliot dragged the broom across the wooden floorboards. He swept a small pile of gray dust. He pushed the dust toward the door. He leaned heavily on the broom handle. He let out a loud, dramatic groan.

"My arms are officially turning to jelly," Ken complained. He wiped a fake bead of sweat from his forehead. "I have been sweeping for ten entire minutes. That is practically a marathon. I think I deserve a fifteen-minute water break. Hydration is very critical for athletes."

Olivia sat on her wooden stool near the doors. Her dark blue uniform remained perfectly clean. Her posture was completely rigid. She watched him with strict, unblinking eyes.

"You have swept exactly one square meter of the floor," Olivia stated coldly. "You are moving at an incredibly sluggish pace. Keep working. You do not get a break."

Ken slouched his shoulders. He pushed the dust again. He hated chores. Chores required moving. He looked at the tall stacks of wooden boxes in the corner. The boxes looked very large. They looked full of training equipment.

"Okay, I am done sweeping," Ken announced lazily. He dropped the broom. It hit the floor with a clack. "I am moving on to the next phase of the raid. I will tackle the giant boxes. Please prepare to witness my incredible physical strength."

He shuffled over to the corner. He dragged his shoes. Scuff. Scuff. Scuff. He stood in front of a large wooden box.

He planted his feet wide apart. He bent his knees deeply. He held his arms out. He took a massive, deep breath. He squeezed his eyes shut. He made his face look completely strained. He gritted his teeth.

"Hnnnnnnng!" Ken grunted loudly. He grabbed the sides of the box. "I am channeling my inner ki! I am pulling energy from the entire universe! Everyone on the planet, please lend me your strength for this Spirit Bomb!"

Olivia raised an eyebrow. She stared at him. She did not understand his weird vocabulary. "What are you talking about? Just lift the box."
