Chapter 367: The Invitation from the Ancient Tribunal!

Chapter 367: Chapter 367: The Invitation from the Ancient Tribunal!

Is the Ancient Beast Clan’s Sky-Splitting Tribe connected to you, Kane?

Let me tell you: The chieftain of the Sky-Splitting Tribe, the princess, and the chairman of the Shadow Council are all my slaves right now!

Thinking this, Logan spread his hands wide and shouted, “Come up with something real, or I’m not done with you!”

Kane knew Logan wasn’t easy to deal with. He sighed, shook his head, and pulled a scroll from his chest. “This is a secret method I once obtained. It explains how to light up more star marks.”

“Sure, you already lit up 81-star marks, but who would turn down more star marks?”

Logan took the scroll and gave Kane a side-eye. “Why didn’t you show me this sooner?”

Outside the command center.

Human legions and warriors from No. 53 Restricted Zone sat together, holding a simple victory feast.

The soldiers who had just survived a life-or-death battle had let go of most of their past grudges; race didn’t matter anymore.

An Ancient Beast Clan warrior with a face full of scars raised a cup made from a giant beast’s leg bone. It was filled with fierce field liquor brewed from soul energy.

The liquid glowed with a pale golden light—a treasure the Ancient Beast Clan only brought out after a huge victory.

He walked over to a nearby human familiar tamer, handed him the bone cup, and spoke with a stiff tone, though the old hostility was gone: “Your familiar’s acid spray saved me from the soul-devourers’ spirit forms. This drink is for you.”

The human familiar tamer took the cup with a smile, took a sip, and coughed from the strong liquor. He reached into his storage space, pulled out a pure life energy crystal, and handed it to the Ancient Beast Clan warrior: “You blocked the Soul-Devourer’s lingering devouring wave for me earlier. This is for you; it will help heal your wounds fast.”

They smiled at each other. The thousand years of blood feud had faded significantly in the face of shared life-and-death experiences.

Logan watched the scene outside and turned to Kane to propose a new deal: “We’re long-term allies now. Why not use the Ancient Passage to build a trade route?”

“Human alchemy products, Demigod-stage potions, and mass-produced gear can be sent to the Restricted Zones via this trade line.”

“In return, the Restricted Zones can offer Demigod-stage resources, Lost World intelligence, and rare familiar species to humanity.”

“Trading what each side lacks is much better than sealing ourselves off.”

Kane thought for three seconds. He knew the Ancient Beast Clan lacked top-tier alchemists, so many Demigod-stage materials just sat in warehouses as waste, unable to be turned into usable gear or potions.

Human technology could fix that weakness. So, Kane nodded. “Done. But let’s add a technology-sharing clause.”

“Your alchemists can set up labs on the edge of the Restricted Zones, and the Ancient Beast Clan will open its mineral veins to you. But you can’t enter the core areas.”

“In exchange, the Destruction Rule cultivation methods of the Ancient Beast Clan can be shared with your qualified warriors.”

Logan reached out, and he and Kane shook hands. The technology-sharing deal was officially made.

The feast continued. Violet, as the royal heir, had to accept toasts from the tribe leaders.

Blood River, wearing a blood-red church robe, walked over holding a cup of strong liquor. He wore a respectful smile, knelt on one knee, and raised his cup: “Princess, you led us to slay the traitors and repel the Devourers. This toast is for you.”

Violet took the cup. Her golden vertical pupils glanced over Blood River’s right hand without him noticing.

A very faint black rune tattoo was on the tip of his finger, shaped exactly like the mark on the Vanguard Command token of Restricted Zone 47.

Normally, the tattoo hid under the skin and only appeared when energy was used. Just now, when he raised his cup, the energy ripple made it show for a split second.

Violet didn’t move a muscle. She took a sip of the wine and told Blood River to stand up and leave.

Immediately after, Shadow Phantom stepped out of the shadows. He held a cup for the toast, but his fingers trembled slightly. The shadow rule energy fluctuated unevenly; his heart was clearly guilty.

Shadow Phantom said: “Princess, the entire Abyss Walker tribe stands ready for your orders.”

Violet nodded slightly, finished her wine, and Shadow Phantom immediately retreated back into the shadows, daring not to stay another moment.

Midway through the feast, Kane pulled Violet aside and spoke telepathically: “Even though Iron-Bone is dead, he made a deeper deal with the envoy from Restricted Zone 47 three months ago.”

“Blood River and Shadow Phantom are likely already turned. You need to be careful.”

Violet’s heart skipped a beat. The black tattoo on Blood River’s fingertip seen earlier was clearly no coincidence.

She didn’t expose them right then. The defense line was still unstable. If Blood River and Shadow Phantom rebelled now, it would cause huge losses. Starting a fight prematurely would only backfire.

Violet used her soul contract to send a message to Logan: “Master, Blood River has a Restricted Zone 47 tattoo on his finger, and Shadow Phantom’s condition is off. They likely still hold other loyalties.”

“I won’t expose them yet. I’ll monitor them secretly through the totem mark. We’ll clean them up after repelling the three Vanguard leaders.”

Logan was organizing samples of the Devouring Rule. Upon receiving the message, he nodded slightly and replied simply, “Do as you say.”

Violet stood up and walked to the center of the feast. Raising her bone cup, her voice rang across the entire camp: “From today on, the Sky-Splitting Tribe stands or falls with the Human Federation.”

Her gaze swept over Blood River and Shadow Phantom in the crowd. The two dared not meet her eyes; they looked down and pretended to drink.

After the feast, Logan returned to the temporary lab to study the Devouring Rule sample extracted from the remains of a soul-devouring apostle.

The sample was a black crystal core. Faint Devouring Rule patterns flowed across its surface. Placed in a special crystal box, it wouldn’t drain the surrounding energy.

Logan activated his five-spiral DNA, causing lights of five different rules to shine simultaneously as he scanned the core’s internal structure.

The results stirred something in his heart. The structure of the Devouring Rule showed extreme compatibility with the Creation and Destruction Rules found in his five-spiral.

In theory, he could fuse the Devouring Rule in to form a six-spiral DNA structure.

Once the six-spiral took shape, his power would break through to the level above Demigod, allowing him to even face an Over-Demigod Origin Devourer head-on.

However, the five-spiral was already near its capacity limit. To fuse the Devouring Rule, he needed more samples and rare treasures to stabilize the six-spiral.

Just then, Kane walked into the lab, holding a tattered, grey-white invitation.

The invitation bore the pattern of nine stone thrones. The edges were worn blurry by time, but the rule energy on it remained powerful, enough to even disrupt the operation of the five-spiral.

Kane placed the invitation on the stone table and said, “This is an invitation sent by the Ancient Tribunal three hundred years ago. Only those invited can enter the Tribunal’s territory.”

“Taking down an Over-Demigod Origin Devourer isn’t possible with just our two powers. We must find the Observers of the Ancient Tribunal.”

“They possess the technology to strip away rules. They can heal my old wounds and find a way to completely counter the Devourers.”

Logan reached out and took the invitation. The rule energy on it caused the three Demigod consciousnesses in his Soul Sea to vibrate.

Nyarlathotep’s voice rang in Logan’s mind, carrying a subtle hint of excitement: “The Ancient Tribunal. Are those Observers finally being dragged into the mess? I thought they’d just hide forever inside Restricted Zone 46 like cowardly turtles.”

Yepera’s voice joined in: “The Ancient Tribunal has nine Observers who hold the most core secrets of the Lost World.”

“If they’re willing to act, the Origin Devourer won’t be scary. But these people never act lightly.”

Then the roar of the Black Dragon echoed: “It doesn’t matter if they act or not. Anyone who stands in our way gets swallowed whole.”

Violet happened to walk into the lab. Seeing the invitation in Logan’s hand, her golden vertical pupils shrank sharply.

She hurried over, staring at the special mark on the seventh stone throne of the invitation. “I’ve seen this mark in the royal ancient texts.” she said.

“It’s the seal of the Ancient Beast Clan’s legendary neutral arbiter, the Seventh Observer of the Ancient Tribunal.”

“Legend says they hold the power to change the rules of the world.”

Logan rubbed his fingertip over the cold, stone-like patterns on the invitation’s surface. He looked up at Violet. “Tell me everything you know about the Ancient Tribunal.”

Violet nodded, a serious look flashing in her golden vertical pupils. “The royal texts are clear. The Ancient Tribunal is a neutral arbitration body that has existed since the beginning of the Lost World. There are nine Observers in total, all ancient beings who control the source of the rules.”

“They don’t get involved in any power struggles within the Restricted Zones. They only punish acts that break the foundation of the world’s rules—like wiping out entire races at will, forcibly modifying the ley line rules, or cultivating forbidden devouring techniques.”

“Three thousand years ago, during our ancestors’ great war against the Devourers, the Ancient Tribunal stepped in. They punished three Devogod from the Devourer side, which stopped the war from spreading to other neutral Restricted Zones.”

Kane snorted from the side and tapped his finger on the stone table. “Those people are just stubborn old fossils. They care only about rules, not people.”

“When I was hunted by the Devourers and driven to Restricted Zone 53, they clearly had the power to help. But because I hadn’t broken their rules, they just watched me fight until I suffered damage to my core.”

“The reason this invitation suddenly reacted must be that your five-spiral DNA matches their rule criteria too perfectly. They’ve targeted you.”

Inside Logan’s Soul Sea, Nyarlathotep’s consciousness spoke up to confirm their words: “He’s right. The Observers of the Ancient Tribunal care only about rules, not side or loyalty. The Origin Devourer was personally banished by the Ninth Observer because he ate his own mentor, violating the most core inheritance rule.”
