Chapter 319: Dominating the Negotiations in the Council!
Chapter 319: Chapter 319: Dominating the Negotiations in the Council!
The first thing they saw were the towering, sturdy walls, and behind them, the neat rows of town buildings.
The black ant army moved like a black torrent, shuttling back and forth between the mine tunnels and the warehouses to carry ore.
At the warehouse entrance, mountains of S-level energy crystals piled high, glowing with a dazzling blue light.
Not far away, in the ten-thousand-fold spirit fields, spirit herbs from a thousand years ago swayed in the wind, and a rich, medicinal scent hit them instantly.
In the sky, the Ashen Dragon legion formed tight ranks, patrolling.
Every single Ashen Dragon exuded the pressure of the Legend stage, and their Dragon Power intimidated everyone around.
The whole town was heavily defended and orderly, so prosperous that it was beyond their wildest dreams.
How could this be a settlement built in just three days? This looked like a mature city that had been thriving for decades!
The thorn staff in Ironthorn’s hands clattered to the ground.
Staring at the scene before him, he stood frozen, his earlier rage completely gone.
Instead, there was nothing but pure shock and awe.
Verid’s face turned pale, and his legs shook uncontrollably.
He remembered the wager made three days ago. He swallowed hard, but no words would come out.
The other three chiefs also lowered their weapons, their arrogance wiped away.
In an instant, their attitude shifted to one of extreme respect.
Heartwood stepped forward and bowed deeply to Logan. In his aged voice, full of awe, he said, “The Spirit Tribe’s Ancient Tree Tribe pledges full cooperation to the Son of Life.”
“We are willing to lead our entire clan to follow you forever.”
Ironthorn finally snapped back to reality. He immediately knelt on one knee, bowing his proud head low.
Filled with guilt, he pleaded to Logan, “I apologize for my earlier disrespect. Please forgive me, Son of Life.”
“We beg for the right to formally ally the five Great Tribes of the Spirit Tribe with the Latio family.”
“We will build monuments to honor you and worship you for generations.”
Vivian, Lithos, and Verid stepped forward as well, kneeling on one knee to show their submission. They promised to share all the Spirit Tribe’s resources with Logan and follow him for eternity.
Logan calmly raised a hand, signaling them to rise. He accepted their request for an alliance.
He looked at the five of them and asked calmly, “You came here today, surely not just to see the outpost, right?”
Just then, the communicator in Logan’s arms suddenly vibrated. It was an urgent message from Hiyua.
Logan answered the call, and Hiyua’s urgent voice filled the air immediately.
“Brother, the Pinocchini Dream Committee has sent an envoy.”
“They strongly demand you attend an emergency meeting right away, claiming it’s a matter of great importance.”
“They also said this crisis concerns the very survival of the entire Pinocchini. You must come.”
Hearing this, Logan nodded. “About time I went to meet those old wolves.”
…
Six hours later, the Pinocchini Committee Conference Hall.
Wearing a black combat suit, Logan strode into the room.
Around the circular conference table sat thirteen of Pinocchini’s top leaders.
This group included Colin, the family leader of the Vanzo family; Elena, the Shadow Queen of the Rimer family; and Modekaiser, the Eye of Chaos from the Toredo family.
Representatives from all eight major companies were also seated in their designated spots.
Stripline, the representative of the Energy Company, sat to the left of the table.
He was a bald middle-aged man who looked coldly at the entering Logan, hiding undisguised malice in his eyes.
Logan scanned the room, taking in every expression and movement.
Colin cleared his throat, breaking the silence in the hall. “Logan, we called you here today because there is a matter critical to Pinocchini’s survival.”
As he spoke, Turing’s digitized form slowly materialized in the center of the table.
Faint blue data streams flowed rapidly, eventually forming a complete star map.
On the map, dense red dots were gathering quickly, emitting a dangerous aura.
This was the enemy deployment map compiled by Turing after integrating all intelligence.
Turing’s voice echoed through the hall, completely emotionless: “According to the latest intelligence, Zone 53 is gathering a multi-ethnic alliance force of one hundred thousand.”
“The alliance includes top-tier powers such as the Ancient Beast Clan’s Sky-Splitting Tribe, the Blood Source Church’s Flesh Temple, and the Abyss Walker Shadow Council.”
“Last year, eighteen Saints sent deep into the Lost World were compromised: nine were killed and nine critically wounded.”
“Currently, Pinocchini has fewer than thirty Saints left, most of them injured. Our combat effectiveness has dropped severely.”
Turing paused before continuing, “This is the first time in human history that we are being systematically wiped out by alien forces on such a massive scale.”
“Pinocchini faces the most severe survival crisis since the city was built.”
“To win this war, we need massive resources.”
Stripline immediately jumped in with a sarcastic tone, curling his lips into a cold smile. “I heard that Family Leader Logan discovered new resource points. You are quite capable.”
“If you hand those resources over for the Committee to distribute, and have the Spirit Tribe act as our foot soldiers, Pinocchini should be able to survive this crisis.”
“In return, the Dream Committee won’t leave you empty-handed. You’ll receive full compensation and the honor you deserve.”
Logan stood his ground without saying a word.
He knew clearly: this was a trap.
If he agreed, the Committee would gradually exploit every bit of his resources to the last drop, effectively tying him to Pinocchini’s war machine.
If he refused, he’d be branded a traitor to humanity, and the strong position he had worked hard to build would collapse instantly.
The high-ranking members of the Dream Committee were waiting for Logan to fall into their trap, but they hadn’t expected him to play by their script at all.
Suddenly, Logan stood up, unleashing a terrifying pressure equivalent to a 46-star Legend stage.
The air in the conference hall froze instantly. Everyone felt a suffocating weight pressing down on them.
Even the representatives from weaker companies couldn’t stop trembling, nearly slipping right off their chairs.
Next, Logan’s gaze swept across the room, his voice cold as ice. “You want resources? I agree.”
“But I have three conditions.”
“First, the area within a three-hundred-mile radius around the World Tree is permanently granted to the Latio family as my private estate. No human from Pinocchini is allowed inside without my permission. Anyone who breaks this rule is a thief, and I hold the power of life and death over them.”
“Second, all of Pinocchini’s technology databases, Battle Style heritage, and rune knowledge are to be unconditionally opened to me. I want to extract every single bit of data right now.”
“Third, the Spirit Tribe and the Latio family are equal allies, not master and servant. Any attempt to enslave the Spirit Tribe is treated as a declaration of war against me, Logan.”
Silence fell over the conference hall the moment Logan finished speaking.
Colin narrowed his eyes, looking at Logan with a gloomy tone. “Logan, you have quite the appetite.”
“Fine, I accept your three conditions.”
“But, if you fail to deliver one million tons of ore, one hundred thousand spirit herbs, or one hundred thousand ferocious beasts within three months…”
“…all the conditions you just listed will be void.”
“The Latio family will also have to pay Pinocchini ten times the damages.”
“And you personally will face the highest judgment from the Committee.”
Hearing this, a cold smile curled the corner of Logan’s mouth. “I remember your promise.”
“One month from now, I will pile the agreed-upon resources right at the gates of Pinocchini.”
With that, Logan turned and walked away, not even glancing back at the people in the room.
The massive doors to the conference hall closed slowly behind him, leaving the committee members inside looking completely stunned.
Once Logan stepped out of the Committee Headquarters, Green Vine was waiting for him outside.
Worry clouded her face as she spoke to Logan. “A million tons of ore? That number is too huge.”
“Even if the black ant army can mine 500,000 tons in a single day, sustaining that for three months is a massive drain.”
“Can we really pull this off?”
Logan smiled and pointed toward the nearby black ant army, which was busily transporting ore.
He looked at Green Vine and calmly calculated it out for her. “The black ant army’s daily output is 500,000 tons.”
“Over three months, the total production will be 45 million tons.”
“The one million tons promised to the Committee is just a tiny fraction, a mere drop in the ocean.”
Green Vine stared at the black ant army, which surged like a black torrent. Her eyes immediately lit up.
The worry on her face vanished completely, replaced by pure confidence.
She finally realized that Logan had never taken the Committee’s demands seriously to begin with.
Compared to what Dawn City possessed now, these resources were insignificant.
On the third day of building the World Tree Town [Dawn City], at high noon, the first caravan transporting construction materials arrived at the edge of the World Tree.
Leading the caravan was Karl, the manager from the Stuart family.
Behind him followed over a hundred workers and twenty trucks loaded with cargo.
Karl directed the workers to unload the goods.
A servile smile plastered on his face, he hurried over to Logan.
Bowing slightly, he spoke in a fawning tone, “My Lord Logan, these are high-strength alloy rebar and solid concrete provided by the Energy Company.”
“They are the finest materials available on the market. Lord Representative Sterling sends these as a gesture of his regards.”
Logan stepped forward, picked up a rebar, and pinched both ends between his thumb and forefinger. With a casual twist, he snapped the hard alloy bar in two, the jagged break looking rough and weak.
Next, Logan kicked a block of set concrete standing nearby.
Bang!
The concrete block instantly crumbled into powder, scattering all over the ground.
Logan glanced over all the materials, a flash of pale gold light passing through his eyes.
In a split second, he confirmed it: these were all industrial scraps.
The energy conductivity of these materials was only thirty percent of the standard requirement, making them completely unsuitable for construction.
