Ancient Woman Transmigrates to the Body of a Modern Man
Chapter 38: What kind of girl is your type?
Soon, Lin Feng had put this matter to the back of his mind. He was busy helping serve food to the elders scattered throughout the nursing home in their favorite spots with their relatives.
He was carrying a tray when a group of elders grabbed him and pulled him toward their table.
A few of them were the elders he had already spoken with earlier, but there were also people he had not met yet.
"Young man, why are you standing there instead of eating with us? Come, sit with us here. Our group of lonely old folks don’t have any relatives visiting today, so having you here will at least liven things up a little."
"...?"
Lin Feng glanced at the long table and saw Grandma Yang.
The boy then quietly glanced at Housekeeper Yang, who was standing nearby to volunteer, feeling a little sorry for the middle-aged man being treated as air.
Housekeeper Yang caught his glance and thought the young master was asking for his opinion.
He simply nodded at the young master. He intended to help the staff distribute food first.
If he sat there....
Thinking of the traumatizing matchmaking failures, the old bachelor who had once been cursed by a blind date to remain a single dog for a millennium decided it was a good chance to escape the hot seat that would have been his.
"Good luck, young master."
The next moment, Lin Feng found himself sitting at a long table, surrounded by a large group of elders.
Lin Feng took a deep breath and braced himself.
Based on experience, he knew what was about to come next.
As expected, questions came flowing like rushing water, one after another.
"Xiao Feng, how old are you?"
"Xiao Feng, do you have a girlfriend?"
"Are you preparing for the college entrance examination?"
"What? Xiao Feng is already a university student?"
"You’re studying at Peking University?"
"What? You want to change majors? What a waste! Finance is such a good major!"
"What are you talking about? Let him study whatever he likes!"
"We’re already old fossils with one foot in the grave, and you still want to stick your nose into a youngster’s affairs?"
"Xiao Feng, how did you learn to play the erhu so well? Which master taught you?"
Questions kept flying at him from every direction, and Lin Feng could not even remember how he managed to answer them all.
When the elders learned that he did not have a girlfriend, one grandma immediately became enthusiastic.
"My granddaughter just started university, too. She is a very good girl. Her university is not as good as yours, but she is cheerful and filial. She often comes to visit me with gifts. Unlike her useless parents!" she spat the last part angrily.
Then she leaned toward Lin Feng excitedly, unaware that the boy’s body and expression suddenly became stiff.
"Why don’t you meet my granddaughter? I can introduce you two."
Before Lin Feng could respond, another old grandma slapped her hand against the first woman’s shoulder.
"What are you talking about, you old hag? Your granddaughter is two years older than Xiao Feng! And he’s only seventeen. You want him to go on a blind date already? Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?"
The first grandma immediately snorted.
"He’s a boy. What’s wrong with having a girlfriend at seventeen?"
She turned back to Lin Feng, her enthusiasm undiminished.
She really liked this boy; he was very good in every way!
"Come on, tell me what kind of girl you like. Even if you don’t like my granddaughter, I know plenty of good girls. Do you like girls with long hair and gentle features? Or lively and energetic girls? Maybe the innocent type?"
Lin Feng’s lips trembled as he paled. He was afraid to answer, his eyes shifting unnaturally in an evasive manner.
The old woman patted her chest proudly. "Just tell me what kind of girl you like, and I, Grandma Tan, will find the perfect little girlfriend for you!"
Although his body was still tense, Lin Feng was finally able to recompose himself.
He forced a smile while changing the topic to his shift in major.
It was not a small reaction, and several of the elders present noticed.
They exchanged subtle glances, and a few different possibilities quietly crossed their minds.
Could it be...?
Some elders who seemed to realize something stopped the words they were planning to say, which had been about how their families’ girls were good, too.
How could they still say it after seeing the boy’s reactions?
After all, they had lived for most of their lives and had seen all kinds of people and situations. In this rapidly changing world, they knew that not everything was the same as it had been when they were young.
There were men who did not like being with girls.
There was one particular elder who also immediately caught on. He silently observed the boy’s face as the latter slowly recovered from his nervous state.
Lin Feng spent the entire lunch sitting on a hot seat, eating with a sense of discomfort.
He was not totally insensitive. He could feel that something in the air had changed.
However, after Lin Feng had recovered from the sudden attack, the unease no longer showed on his face. Even when he was uncomfortable, he naturally maintained an elegant composure.
To everyone around him, Lin Feng appeared refined and graceful, from the way he ate to the way he moved.
The air of someone with a noble bearing emanated from him, so much so that the remaining elders who had not noticed the abnormality earlier and were intending to introduce their little girls finally backed off, realizing that this boy’s background might not be so simple.
The elders who still had no clue of Lin Feng’s possible orientation thought, ’The boy may be good, but if their backgrounds have too much of a difference, it may end on a sour note. Let’s not force it.’
The elders who were more perceptive thought, ’The boy seems to be pretty good, well-mannered, and polite. What a pity to see such a good boy...’
After lunch, just as Lin Feng was about to help clean the tables, an elder tapped him on the shoulder.
"Xiao Feng, can you help me go to the greenhouse? I’ve been busy all morning with practicing. I haven’t seen my flowers yet."
"Sure, Grandpa. Let me wash my hands first." The boy immediately smiled and agreed.
