Night Cell Tower

After killing the elite venom maw creature, I started heading toward the door. When I stood before it,

Creak!

I opened the door and stepped inside. If I wasn’t mistaken, the next opponent would be a human criminal.

I didn’t waste any time and circulated the shock force power throughout my body. My gaze fell upon a middle-aged man dressed in the tattered uniform of the Red Moon University.

My eyes gleamed. I hadn’t expected to see a criminal from that university. Red Moon University mostly had female warriors.

They had very few male warriors, and he had never seen one reach such a high level.

The warrior was already waiting for me, looking at me with a cold stare. I could feel energy brewing inside his body, waiting to erupt.

"It’s going to be a tough fight again," the ancient spirit whispered to me.

"Who are you?" the middle-aged man asked.

His voice sounded deep and grim because he sensed a threat from the young man before him. A scar ran down the right side of his face, a remnant from his early days.

When he spoke, his facial expression twisted into an ugly grimace.

On the other hand, I looked at him and said, "I’m a Red Mark Warrior from Star University. But I didn’t expect to see a criminal from Red Moon University."

"Criminal, huh?" the middle-aged man uttered with a faint smile.

"Everyone is a criminal if they go against the will of the higher-ups. You’ll be branded a criminal too if you defy them," he said.

He hadn’t been this talkative in a long time. He didn’t know why, but he assumed the young man lacked experience.

At the same time, I didn’t let my guard down. The old man before had been similar, possessing terrifying strength, and I suspected it would be the same with this middle-aged man.

I was already picking up an unsettling aura from him.

"Hmph!"

"I guess you aren’t that talkative." After saying that, the middle-aged man drew his sword.

Upon seeing the blade, my eyes gleamed.

I hadn’t expected him to be a swordsman. Now, I had to draw my own weapon. I drew my black sword.

Boom!

I coated the edge of the black sword with shock force power. In the blink of an eye, the blade’s edge was enveloped in silver energy.

Seeing that, the corners of the middle-aged man’s lips curved into a smirk, and his eyes flashed with battle intent.

Swoosh!

The next second, he bolted from where he stood. The middle-aged man brought his sword down from above to cleave the young man in two.

He didn’t coat the blade in Red Moon energy; it was a simple physical strike.

Slash!

Seeing the attack, I thrust my blade forward to intercept it. In the blink of an eye, the two weapons clashed.

Clang!

A metallic ring echoed out.

The shock force surged forward, enveloping the middle-aged man’s blade. His eyes gleamed with interest.

Boom!

The next second, he unleashed his Red Moon energy. His right hand became enveloped in crimson light.

The moment it made contact with the shock force power, the Red Moon energy destroyed it instantly. It all happened in a fraction of a second.

At the same time, I felt a violent recoil force and leaped backward to widen the gap. The middle-aged man darted forward in pursuit.

He coated the edge of his blade in Red Moon energy. Closing the distance, he launched a flurry of strikes.

Slash!

He swung the blade diagonally downward. The edge glowed brightly with crimson energy.

My senses tracked the trajectory of the blade, realizing he was aiming straight for my vitals.

Clang!

I brought my blade up to parry the blow once more. As the two weapons collided-

A metallic shriek rang out. At the same time, I felt the sheer weight of the recoil. The Red Moon energy felt unnervingly cold and heavy.

I saw my shock force power being suppressed yet again. Seeing this, I attempted to circulate even more shock force power.

Boom!

A surge of shock force flooded both of my arms, and I channeled it straight into the blade.

The suppressed shock force power once again grew denser and stronger.

The middle-aged man’s eyes flashed. He hadn’t expected the young man to possess such an intriguing ancient inheritance power.

Swoosh!

Unable to decipher the nature of the ancient inheritance, he began drawing upon the power of his Red Moon energy once more.

He intended to overwhelm the young man completely.

Boom!

Executing a sword technique, he slashed his blade forward.

Slash!

A furious crimson arc erupted from the blade, hurtling toward the young man.

I could sense the raw power radiating from the Red Moon arc. If it struck my body, it would inflict severe injuries.

My shock force rune had only recently advanced, and I had no intention of falling here. I braced myself to confront the crimson arc.

Slash!

I slashed directly at the incoming projectile. It didn’t take long for the two attacks to collide.

Boom!

The Red Moon energy obliterated the shock force power immediately, and the residual energy slammed into my blade.

Swoosh!

I attempted to use my movement technique to evade, but before I could disengage from the area, a wisp of Red Moon energy nearly grazed my skin.

Right then, I circulated my dark purple lightning force. In the blink of an eye, arcs of lightning crackled across my body.

Boom!

The Red Moon energy collided with the lightning bolts. A violent blast occurred, and the impact sent shockwaves through me.

Swoosh!

I executed my movement technique to retreat backward.

I opened up the distance once more before checking my wounds. The Red Moon energy felt freezing cold, leaving behind superficial slashes rimmed with frigid frost across my body.

Fortunately, I had been quick enough to deploy my lightning power to neutralize the brunt of the attack.

Otherwise, the powerful attack would have left serious injuries to my body.
