Chapter 1973: Master Yixiu
Chapter 1973: Chapter 18: Master Yixiu
“Senior, can you not be so alarming? People scaring each other can lead to fright-induced deaths!”
Many people looked pale as they gazed at the elder; the Deep Sea Giant Monster was rumored to exist.
If it appears, do we still have any chance of survival?
Everyone’s face bore a deeply terrified expression.
Who can contend with creatures like the Deep Sea Giant Monster?
…
The elder ignored everyone, praying fervently.
The storm at sea grew increasingly fierce.
One by one, people continued to flee from the sea to the island.
Lin Feng noticed a woman in a black long dress, causing him to feel somewhat uneasy.
The woman had her hands wrapped around a sword and was leaning against a rock wall with closed eyes, seemingly asleep.
He had taken note of this woman before, sheltering from the rain in the cave where he stayed.
“What a carefree spirit!”
Lin Feng muttered to himself.
……
The raging storm swept through, with waves towering high.
It was practically an end-of-days scene.
More and more people escaped from the sea area and landed on the island.
Everyone stayed on the island and gazed toward the ocean, praying the storm would calmly subside.
Fortunately.
The most terrifying hurricane did not sweep toward the island they were on; if it had, the island would have been utterly destroyed.
Perhaps this was a blessing in disguise.
By dawn, the storm finally dissipated.
Everyone could finally let out a sigh of relief.
……
“Looks like my prayers last night were effective!”
The elder stood up and said.
Everyone secretly rolled their eyes at the elder; can a storm be resolved through prayer?
If prayer could solve it, then for every kind of disaster that descends in this world, we could simply pray it away.
This way, disasters could disappear.
Lin Feng plopped down on a rock to rest.
After spending a night in suspense, he was truly exhausted.
“Damn! Just going out to sea, and encountering something like this, what terrible luck!”
“Brother, be content; surviving is pretty good in itself, consider how many died when the storm came!”
“Nature’s power is unimaginable!”
Many people lamented.
The elder said, “What power of nature, the Deep Sea Giant Monster appeared, causing such a big commotion!”
Someone chuckled and said, “Senior, since you claim the Deep Sea Giant Monster came to find the person with the Tuo She Ancient Coin, why didn’t it attack the island we were on?”
The elder said, “Perhaps because the person with the Tuo She Ancient Coin was dealt with by the Deep Sea Giant Monster in the sea, so we were relatively lucky to avoid disaster!”
Someone else laughed and replied, “But senior, you just claimed it was due to your prayers!”
The elder, rendered speechless from rebuttal, snorted coldly and walked away.
In the distance, someone took out a glass bottle, which had its space within; it was filled with half a bottle of sea water.
Floating in the sea water was a miniaturized ancient ship.
The cultivator opened the bottle and took out the ancient ship.
The ship quickly grew larger.
“Everyone can ride for free! If any danger arises, we’ll have each other for protection!”
The cultivator who took out the ancient ship said.
Then boarded the ancient ship.
The free boarding naturally delighted the cultivators on the island, and one by one, they boarded the ship.
Lin Feng and Wanyan Yang also boarded the ancient ship.
……
Seeing Lin Feng frowning continuously, Wanyan Yang asked, “Why is the master furrowing his brow?”
Lin Feng said, “I felt yesterday’s events were very odd, not as simple as a mere sea storm!”
Wanyan Yang said, “Could it be that the master believes the elder’s words?”
Lin Feng replied, “No matter the situation, there is always a reason behind it. I don’t know if the elder’s story is true, but even if it’s not, I feel yesterday’s events are connected to something unknown and terrifying!”
“Amitabha Buddha, wonderful indeed!”
Suddenly a passing monk looked at Lin Feng, pressing his palms together.
This was a young monk, yet behind his head shone nine rays of Buddha Light.
Truly remarkable.
A young enlightened high monk.
Oftentimes, some favored sons of heaven appear, young yet achieving extraordinary feats.
A feat others might not come close to achieving in a lifetime.
This monk was clearly one such individual.
“Greetings, Master! I am Lin Feng. May I have the honor of knowing your name?” Lin Feng asked.
“I am Yixiu!”
The young monk replied.
“Ah, it’s Master Yixiu, a pleasure indeed!” Lin Feng clasped his fist in salutation.
Master Yixiu said, “You’re too polite, donor! Having heard you mention yesterday’s events, I also find them puzzling, and wish to exchange thoughts with you.”
Lin Feng and Master Yixiu exchanged their views, Lin Feng also sharing the story he heard from the elder, just as Master Yixiu shared a terrifying fact—that while flying over from overseas, he caught a glimpse of something shifting in the sea below. Daring not to look longer, he quickly headed for the island.
Hearing these words from Master Yixiu made Lin Feng gasp involuntarily.
Could some horrific thing truly have appeared?
Master Yixiu said, “At least everything has returned to peace now!”
Lin Feng touched his chin and said, “Hmm, I believe it should’ve calmed down too. If it wanted to act against us, last night was an excellent opportunity!”
…
This was a world of darkness, a world of dead spirits.
A river stretching through heaven and earth.
In the river were countless bones, resentful souls, evil spirits, fierce ghosts.
Wailing cries emanated.
Hundreds of ghosts weeping.
The dreadful dead spirits tried to break free from the river.
Yet they could not break free.
This was the River of Death.
These dead spirits.
Fated to be eternally trapped within the River of Death.
Enduring endless suffering.
“Swish…”
Suddenly, within the River of Death, massive waves surged.
A black, moss-covered ancient ship emerged from the depths of the River of Death.
Undead creatures that had been sleeping on the ship awoke.
“We have awakened…”
“How many millennia have passed? We’ve awakened once more…”
“Can we return to the Yang Realm?”
The undead creatures shouted excitedly, their bodies, rotting and stinking, truly repulsive to the extreme.
“Crack!”
Suddenly.
The cabin door on the second floor of the ancient ship opened.
A towering undead creature stepped out.
That undead creature held a wine bottle, laughing heartily, “What are you waiting for, lads? Raise the flag!”
“Raise the flag!”
“Raise the flag!”
“Raise the flag!”
Countless undead creatures shouted.
The ancient ship’s flag was raised.
A skull flag, resembling a pirate’s flag.
Inscribed with four characters.
Curse Ship.
“Hahaha… Set sail! Return to the Yang Realm!”
The captain laughed, downing the wine in swigs.
But the wine he drank all leaked out from his decomposed body.
Boom!
At the same time!
The Curse Ship sailed, riding the waves, directly toward the unknown reaches of the River of Death.
Disappearing into the endless darkness.
