Chapter 1107 - That Man
Chapter 1107: That Man
Zhao Yao returned to the Extradimensional Belly and saw the unconscious Exploding Scorch and Calamity surrounded by supercats.
Matcha stepped on Exploding Scorch’s face and said, “Take a pic. This is the alien cat that I defeated.”
“Alien cats again?” Dust Ball sized up Exploding Scorch and Calamity curiously. “They look pretty neat.”
Noodle waded through the crowd and wagged his tail excitedly. He spat out his tongue and shouted, “Don’t pretend Matcha. I’m sure you didn’t defeat them. Do you want to bet? If you defeated them, I’ll do a live stream of myself eating poo!”
Fish Ball squeezed out from underneath Noodle and said angrily, “Noodle! Why did you come to the Extradimensional Belly to cheat others. I’m telling Xiao Yu!”
Noodle sat on Fish Ball with a thud and Fish Ball struggled wildly but he could not free himself.
Zhao Yao surveyed the cats and said, “Be careful. These two are powerful alien cats. And this one too…” Zhao Yao spat out Virus Marshal.
A small black ball was constantly circling Zhao Yao.
“This one too. Don’t touch him. If the poison gas is released, the entire Earth’s doomed.”
Seeing that the cats were scared and in awe of him, Zhao Yao felt indifferent.
“Hmm, I have defeated such powerful alien cats but the people on Earth don’t know about it. What’s the point?”
Zhao Yao was upset his feats were not recognized.
Zhao Yao stroked his chin and said, “I’m awesome but nobody knows. I’m upset.”
In the next moment, Book beeped and showed a new mission.
Mission: Keep a Low Profile
Mission Objective: As a powerful apostle with a low profile, you discovered the alien cats’ threat. To protect the Earth, you decided to divulge the existence of the alien cats to the people on Earth. Remember to keep a low profile.
Reward: The more people know about it, the more experience points you gain. The lowest is 5000 and the highest is 50000.
Mission Penalty: None
Zhao Yao smiled at his new mission. “That’s my good old Book. You’re right. I can’t keep a low profile at the expense of the Earth’s safety. Hmm… Let me think how to tell everyone about this.”
“Yes!”
Zhao Yao had plans in his mind but he was first going to hook up Calamity and Exploding Scorch with Closers World so that their awareness would be suppressed in the game.
He looked at the black ball that Virus Marshal was sealed inside of.
“Hey, are you able to return to your original form?”
The poison mist remained motionless and there was no reply. He was not complying with Zhao Yao.
Zhao Yao kept his wits and he had an idea.
Zhao Yao was not going to force him to return to his original form. Instead, he would control the ball so that it circled him.
“Hmm, that’s not bad. It’s a trendy and functional weapon. You’ll stay with me for the time being.”
Zhao Yao opened the Dimension Portal and walked in. Then he headed towards the portal for the Long Fur Tribe’s military planet.
…
In his space station, Robot Marshall looked at the recorded video from the robot fly in silence.
“Calamity, Exploding Scorch and Virus vanished. It seems like he used his Dimension superpower.”
“When we started fighting, he was passively bracing himself against the attacks and didn’t retaliate. He was that powerful just by using his defenses. Perhaps his actual combat power’s even more terrifying.”
“I’ve informed the President regarding the current situation. Hopefully they can think of a solution…”
As he was in deep thought, his awareness rippled and he was puzzled by an incoming message that said, “A starship vanished in battle. Contact was lost with all crew members. I’ll try tracking them.”
He tried contacting the starship but it had disconnected from the quantum network and closed its secret quantum connections. Even the secret Space Fold locators were not responding. He had no chance to locate the starship.
If he had constructed and controlled the space cruiser, then he would have been able to find it.
The Long Fur Tribe had many space cruisers and robots and unfortunately, Robot Marshal’s superpower wasn’t sensitive enough so it was impossible for him to control all the space cruisers. With the lost connection and two backup locators not responding, he was unable to locate the lost ship.
“It’s a lost cause. It’s most likely caused by the Short Fur Tribe.”
Robot Marshal shook his head and gave his reply. He did not take it personally as damaged or lost starships were common daily occurrences. He was worried about the losses of the three marshals and the impact caused by the cat slave.
On Earth, hundreds of countries’ leaders gathered together to participate in a space travel conference that had not been held before.
On this day, with close collaboration of several large countries, the human race embarked on a new era of space exploration.
After gathering all major space agencies with the latest technology, the Earth Space Administration was successful launched.
The first human-filled spaceship bound for Mars started construction and would be ready for launch in a year’s time. It would be a new chapter for planet exploration.
Numerous mass media, citizens, rich tycoons, scientists and celebrities… all their attentions were focused there. This was an unprecedented collaboration and a revolutionary step. Powerful nations were working towards a common goal for the first time.
In the leaders’ lounge, many leaders were seen resting, discussing, and doing work.
The President sat alone on the sofa with his leg propped up. He looked at his cell phone and typed furiously.
A handsome Russian walked in and sat beside the President with a weary face.
President lifted his head and glanced at the Russian before continuing his typing. He said, “Brother Jing, you’re back? Is the press conference over?”
Brother Jing nodded and said, “Yes, it has ended. I hope that everything goes well. Hmm… Let’s land on other planets soon. This planet’s becoming unbearable. Are you on twitter?”
The President became angry. “Twitter? I was banned because I scolded the person that can’t be named. I’m a President! I was banned!! Can you imagine that?”
Brother Jing nodded agreeably. “You’ve got guts to scold that man.”
“What other choice did I have? That’s billions in loan that I was to be responsible for. We’re going through a budget deficit. Do you know by how much support for me in the polls has fallen? I can’t even speak my mind on Twitter. What’s the use of being a President?”
Agreeing with his complaints, other leaders went along and criticized the man’s evil deeds.
“Oh, I mortgaged my crown. Who knows when he could return the money?”
“You’re expecting him to return the money? I only hope he doesn’t borrow more money. Do you know where he spent the money? Inviting the world to play computer games!”
“The developed countries were not spared as he forced us to promote the game in the countryside and let 70 year old grannies play Closers World. That’s preposterous.”
“It’s better than what he did to us. He carried our aircraft carrier and approached us for investment in Cat Wonderland Street. What could I do? We explained to the press that we had developed the first Helicarrier.
“S*it, that’s the work of that man? I thought you’ve developed a Helicarrier.”
