Chapter 398: Chapter 398 – Blessed with three mothers
Jasmine leaned back in the chair, totally relaxed, while one of the stylists gently washed her hair. Warm water poured through her red strands as she glanced over at Seraphine, who looked both serious and curious. Jasmine let out a soft sigh.
"Sera, I’m not gonna lie to you. This stuff we’re dealing with is really heavy." Her face softened with real care.
"Trust me, it’d just mess with your head and pull your focus away from the wedding. Please listen to Corvine on this. Once the wedding’s over, you’ll know everything. I promise."
There was real sincerity in Jasmine’s eyes, and Seraphine could see it. Jasmine had been carrying this huge burden for days, and part of her was dying to finally spill it all.
Even if the truth made people turn against her afterward, she could handle it. At least the hiding would finally be over. Things just felt different these days anyway.
Corvine had been hyping her up and supporting her so much lately that she barely recognized the timid, scared woman she used to be.
The more she learned about everything Seraphine had been through and overcome, the more determined Jasmine got to build a better life for herself.
Seraphine had suffered so much but still kept moving forward with grace and love. Compared to that, Jasmine felt like she’d wasted way too many years just running and hiding from life.
No matter what happened once the truth came out, she wasn’t going back to being that lone wolf drifting through existence with no purpose. Even if Voren ended up firing her, she’d figure out another path.
The whole mansion was buzzing with wedding prep all day long. The beauty crew was nonstop from sunrise to evening, with stylists running room to room carrying makeup kits, hair stuff, and garment bags.
The sweet smell of fresh flowers mixed with fancy perfumes filled the air. Down in the kitchen, chefs were cranking out tray after tray of amazing food, and the whole place was pulsing with excited energy.
Even little Esperanza was all in on the fun. As the flower girl, she proudly insisted on getting her hair, nails, and outfit done just like the adults.
The little girl sat up straight in her chair during her manicure and pedicure, firing off a million questions about the wedding that had everyone around her cracking up and smiling.
At one point, a bunch of the beauticians got totally hooked on Seraphine’s glow-up. She looked absolutely stunning.
The difference between the woman who first showed up and the radiant one sitting there now was wild.
Same with Esperanza and Jasmine. The stylists were so excited they politely asked if they could use some pictures of Esperanza for their ads.
Seraphine shook her head right away. She knew their intentions were harmless, but she couldn’t risk it. Gifted wolves were still being hunted in some places, and the fewer people who knew about Esperanza, the safer she’d be. The beauticians respected her decision immediately, no pushback.
As evening rolled in, Seraphine made another firm call. She refused to let Voren see the final makeover before the actual ceremony. Instead of heading back to her own room, she crashed with Jasmine and Esperanza for the night.
For the first time, she got to share a bed with her daughter, holding her tight like someone might snatch her away. Jasmine slept on the couch, totally soaking up the excitement of being part of this whole journey.
Esperanza passed out as soon as Seraphine’s warmth hit her, unlike usual, when the kid would stay up drawing stuff adults couldn’t even make sense of.
Poor Voren almost lost his mind when he heard about the change of plans, but Corvine was dead set on keeping things chill.
Unfortunately, Voren wasn’t the type who could sleep easy without Seraphine nearby. Since he couldn’t sneak into Esperanza’s room with Jasmine there, he went for the next best thing: Corvine.
Late that night, he quietly slipped into Corvine’s room and made himself at home like he owned the place. Corvine just rolled his eyes with a fond grin.
They ended up talking for hours. Voren opened up completely about everything going on in the pack, and all the challenges still ahead. Corvine listened through it all, giving steady support as their conversation went deep into the night.
Unlike a lot of bachelor parties, there wasn’t a drop of alcohol. Neither of them touched a drink. They just talked until exhaustion hit and they both crashed.
Morning came way too quick. The mansion exploded back into chaos as everyone rushed to finish the last-minute stuff. Corvine personally handled lining up the cars to get the parents and guests to the venue.
The wedding was kept pretty small compared to what Voren could’ve pulled off, just a carefully picked group of people. Still, every detail was planned perfectly.
When it was finally time for Seraphine to head out, three middle-aged women surrounded her: Kylie, Nessa, Madison.
Corvine had already taken Esperanza to the car, amazed by how stunning she was looking.
You look more stunning than I ever saw you," Kylie said, Seraphine blushed. "Thank you so much," she said, almost tearing up as Madison hugged her affectionately. "I’ve never seen you this happy, and my little girl is getting married again. I might just be the nanny to you, but Sera, I’ve always loved you like a daughter."
On her wedding day, she hugged her biological mom, not as her nanny, but as her actual mother, even though they hadn’t fully explained the differences yet.
Corvine hadn’t given her the DNA test results, but Seraphine was sure Madison was her bio mom. The fact that she joined the other two women she loved so much to help put on her tiara felt incredibly heartwarming.
"Sera, this time there won’t be any divorce," Kylie said seriously before pulling her into a big hug. The whole vibe was super emotional as Jasmine held Seraphine’s bouquet.
"I agree," Nessa added. The three middle-aged women looked stunning, like they’d time-traveled back to their younger days.
Jasmine quickly dabbed a tear from Seraphine’s face before it could mess up her makeup.
"I’m the luckiest woman in the world. With three moms who love me this much. I love you all," Seraphine said, tears spilling over while Jasmine worked hard to fix her makeup.
"No, we’re the lucky ones to have you as our daughter," Kylie said warmly. "And I especially feel honored to have shared a home with you." Nessa smiled, fighting back her own tears.
"I never wanted you to leave after you moved in, but somehow we get to be together again. For once, I feel like joining a pack. Desmond and I are thinking about taking Voren up on his invitation."
Seraphine laughed through her tears. A lot of people had left the centenary pack because of Daisy, and now they’d get the chance to join the Grimroot pack with her.
"That would make me so happy," Seraphine said seriously, then turned to Madison. "And you’re doing the same, right? You’ll move to the Grimroot pack with us, won’t you?"
