All My Summons Become Divine Girls

Chapter 516: The Voice Becomes One Target

  • Next Chapter

By nightfall, the God of One Voice had one body remaining, and finding that body had taken every specialist in the family.

The engine’s center hall stood open around the old man, its ceremonial floor cleared of every occupied citizen the long day had freed.

The First Speaker waited beside the engine’s central seat, with all the collected willing cores turning slowly behind him like a private galaxy of perfect agreement.

The consolidation had made him magnificent beyond any Shard scale the stream could compare to. The same consolidation had also made him entirely alone in the city he had kept breathing.

Ferra’s custody network had mapped the drain lines before anyone else moved.

"Every willing core in the city terminated at the central seat."

Her charcoal chart circled the projected hall in red while she said it.

"The god kept its promises about where home was."

Vella’s separation had made the target ethical before anyone struck it.

Her gold had walked the braided core for eleven full hours, patiently unpicking every compulsory thread from the city’s honest bonds. After that walk, nothing coerced remained inside One Voice anywhere in the city.

"There is no hostage left anywhere in the network."

The announcement went out on every civic relay at the same moment.

"Whatever stands in that hall tonight chose to stand there."

The twins had cut the escape routes between the two of them.

Rumi and Nari, still arguing about the bridge, had reflected every civic line around the engine’s center into a closed hall of mirrors.

Concord could not open that hall from inside without dismantling itself first.

"He can hear everything we say inside the hall."

Rumi reported the whole situation with a burglar’s professional respect.

"He cannot route anything at all out of it."

Didi’s frost Brand held the hall’s own bonds perfectly still, so no line of the city’s architecture would answer the Speaker if he called out for them.

The Sovereign writ on the hall read like the door sign on a courtroom, and every citizen walking past it understood the claim being made.

Eirwen’s roots held the floor, the seams, plus the forty-one years of history beneath the hall.

Her twelve Shards kept every door of the engine center closed from the ground upward.

"He is inside a box we built out of his own city."

Eirwen’s report was the shortest one of the entire day.

"The box is honest, and he may leave it the moment he releases the layer."

The city watched the box assemble itself in real time over the civic lines, and the chat understood before any commentary started what had been built.

Twelve hours earlier, the same box would have been impossible, because every wall of it depended on a district of freed hostages standing behind the builder.

[ LurkerNoMore: ] they spent the entire day filtering hostages out of the network. now the only thing left in the god’s voice is the god’s volunteers

[ ShadowMage44: ] every specialist built one wall of the boss room, bro. the smith, the healer, the twins, the princess, the elf

[ NewViewer_02: ] an ethical boss target. they made a war lawful before they fought it

Hajin crossed the center hall alone at midnight with six dark Rings around his forearm.

The First Speaker watched him come the way a farmer watches a long-expected storm.

"You found every seam I ever taught the thing."

The old man’s voice stayed as mild as standing water the whole time.

"I told you to cut deep, and you cut specific instead. Cutting specific instead of deep is always the better cut."

"You can still release the compulsory layer and keep the willing cores."

Hajin stopped ten paces out, inside the private galaxy’s slow turning light.

"The city will let an agreement stand if everyone inside it volunteered."

"The layer is the agreement."

The Speaker’s mildness did not waver by even one degree.

"Remove the compulsion, and what remains is a club of exhausted idealists in a leaking city. I have kept this country breathing for forty-one years, Foreigner, and I will not hand it back to its own arguments."

"Then we end this here and tonight."

Hajin opened his left hand while the fingerless Collector’s Grasp settled over it in the dark.

"You said I was a failing engine. Let me show you what a seam does when it stops apologizing for existing."

He crossed the remaining distance under the galaxy’s rotation and set his gloved hand against the collected cores.

The Grasp entered the Concord frequency exactly as it had entered the Witness avatar, bypassing every defense, because defense bypass was the entire function.

The hall’s collected agreement had never once been attacked from inside a handshake.

The frequency hit his pathways like a cathedral choir singing one note directly into his bones.

Every specialist wall held its position while he hung inside the sound.

[ Concord Frequency Contact Established ]

[ Target: One Voice Aggregate Core ]

[ Defense Bypass: Active ]

[ Phase Lock Initiated ]

He locked the Concord frequency against his own core rhythm, one held note inside the god’s single note, and the entire hall went still around the dissonance.

"Record all of it."

His voice came out of the held note directly through his teeth.

"Everything this is, Aria. Everything it chose, everything it swallowed, every single argument it ended."

"The whole city deserves to hold the complete file."

[ Witness Avatar Precedent Applied ]

[ Concord Frequency: Recording ]

[ Stable Sample Achieved ]

The First Speaker watched his god’s voice become evidence with something close to gratitude, because an old keeper still knows the value of a complete record.

"Now the country knows what happened to it."

The old man settled back into the central seat like a man into a coffin he had personally chosen.

"Finish the file, Foreigner, and then finish me."

Hajin withdrew the Grasp, and the note of the hall resumed around its one remaining body, one voice, one target, with everything coerced already gone from it.

Aria sealed the recording behind three locks, one for the city, one for the archive, and one for the trial nobody wanted to imagine.

He walked back out of the hall to where the whole family waited in the engine’s gateway, and the chat held its breath along with them.

"Tomorrow at first light, we settle this."

Six Rings opened around his forearm while the private galaxy turned behind him.

"One willing vessel, one record already secured, and six Rings with a morning appointment."

Juna looked once at the closed hall, then across at him, and asked the single question the whole city was asking in the dark.

"Will it hurt you tomorrow?"

Her hand found the Ring light resting warm on his wrist.

"The Concord frequency, I mean. You held it tonight inside your own bare and unshielded pathways."

"It tried to agree with me the entire time I was inside it."

Hajin closed his hand over the locked and bounded sample.

"That is what this thing does. Tomorrow we find out whether I can cut something that has already started saying yes to me."

The gateway doors closed on the one body of the god, and the Last City spent its night counting the thirty-seven skies it had left.

In the registry, Lana wrote the day’s account in plain ink, and four freed districts read it aloud to each other on no count at all.

Outside the walls, in four freed districts, people who had breathed on one shared count all day were learning to breathe alone again, awkward plus weeping plus entirely alive.

Tomorrow morning had an appointment now, and every single person left in the whole city knew exactly where it would be kept.
