Chapter 421: Chapter 214: Building the Wizard Tower, Memories in the Divine Blood_3
’It’s still a money problem.’
Pei Ze sighed and continued reading.
Besides the three main components of energy supply, spatial planning, and combat systems, Tower Spirits were also a crucial part of a Wizard Tower.
They were the highest tier of artificial intelligence, responsible for the integrated operation of the Wizard Tower, combining functions such as terminal computing, data recording, combat command, and being a laboratory assistant.
Generally speaking, a Wizard Tower needed at least one Tower Spirit.
But if the budget allowed, the more Tower Spirits, the better.
After all, a single Tower Spirit’s computational capacity was limited. Sometimes, assigning it just two or three tasks would consume all of its processing power.
The more Tower Spirits there were, the more smoothly and efficiently the Wizard Tower would operate.
For example, Mo Weng’s Wizard Tower had three Tower Spirits, responsible for the tower’s combat command system, daily operations, and acting as Mo Weng’s laboratory assistant, respectively.
Tower Spirit constructs, which were even more advanced than Tower Spirits, could even assist a Wizard in combat.
To create a Tower Spirit, one needed Soul Crystals.
A Soul Crystal was a higher-level aggregate of Soul Energy than a Soul Crystal Stone, second only to a Soul Source Crystal.
The Purified Soul Crystal that Pei Ze had exchanged for contribution points belonged to the lowest grade of Soul Crystals, only suitable for making golems at best.
To create a Tower Spirit, its core had to be made from the highest-grade Soul Crystal.
And a single Soul Crystal of this type cost three hundred thousand Magic Crystal Stones.
’With the help of my Eye of Omniscience, I don’t need a lab assistant. Two Tower Spirits, one for combat command and one for daily operations, will be enough.’
With a flick of his wrist, an incredibly beautiful Crystal Stone appeared in Pei Ze’s palm. It was the reward he had received for his victory in the Tower of the Holy Ring: a High-level Soul Crystal that could be used as a Tower Spirit’s core.
With this Soul Crystal, he would only need to buy one more, just like any other Wizard building a Wizard Tower, without any extra expenses.
After his final calculations, Pei Ze found that the total cost of the Wizard Tower was a staggering 3.8 million Magic Crystal Stones—mainly because the expense of building a Large-scale Maze Locking Protective Energy Field was quite high.
And this was without even calculating the cost of a built-in Golem Legion.
If that were added in, the cost would definitely exceed four million Magic Crystal Stones.
’Too expensive.’
Pei Ze couldn’t help but sigh at the cost.
’Is there a way to reduce the expenses?’
’For instance, there are some things I could make myself instead of outsourcing them.’
Building a Wizard Tower involved numerous technical fields, and it was impossible for a single Wizard to master them all.
Therefore, many of the tower’s systems—such as the Floating Rings, Spell Towers, Maze Locking Protective Energy Field, and Golems—needed to be procured from outside sources.
But Pei Ze was different.
He had the Eye of Omniscience. By consuming a bit of elemental origin, he could easily master the manufacturing techniques for these systems. As long as he had the materials, he could whip them up himself.
Moreover, with the assistance of the Eye of Omniscience, the final products would likely be of higher quality than those made by other Wizards.
The manufacturing costs for these systems accounted for a significant portion of the budget. If he could save on that and only pay for materials, he could undoubtedly cut his expenses drastically.
The more Pei Ze thought about it, the more feasible it seemed. He went ahead and removed the manufacturing fees, recalculating the total. The final cost came out to 2.75 million Magic Crystal Stones, a little over a million less than the original estimate!
Of course, this was still without factoring in the Golem Legion.
’I have to make every Magic Crystal Stone count.’
Pei Ze was filled with joy.
Although he could obtain a large amount of money by selling improved potion formulas, it wasn’t something he could do freely.
Selling seven or eight improved potion formulas in a short period would undoubtedly cause a huge stir and could attract unnecessary trouble.
Pei Ze estimated that selling another three or four formulas was his limit.
He would have to find a way to make up the remaining shortfall by brewing and selling some potions.
’And I can improve these technologies, strengthening their functions as much as possible without a significant cost increase.’
Pei Ze was a man of action. He immediately recorded all the data from the Memory Crystal Ball into his Eye of Omniscience and began working on improvements.
But just then, a sound came from outside.
Pei Ze’s gaze shifted. With a flicker, his figure appeared outside in an instant.
Nymph was standing at the door.
"What is it?"
Nymph quickly bowed and answered respectfully, "Master, Lady Yin Xue has come to visit you."
As she spoke, the Water Sprites housekeeper carefully observed Pei Ze’s expression.
If it had been anyone else at the door, she wouldn’t have gone out of her way to disturb her master in the Meditation Room.
But Lady Yin Xue was different.
Based on her observations, Lady Yin Xue seemed to have a somewhat ambiguous relationship with her master. She might even become the Lady of the House in the future, which naturally set her apart from other guests.
"I see. You may go."
Pei Ze nodded, then went to the living room, where Yin Xue was sitting on the sofa drinking tea.
"Senior, what brings you here? Did you need something?"
"Can’t I come see you just because?" Yin Xue joked, then stood up and handed a box to Pei Ze. "It’s a bit late, but this is a congratulatory gift for you."
Before Pei Ze could speak, she added, "I’m delivering this gift on behalf of my family, so don’t you dare refuse."
Pei Ze smiled and, without any pretense or ceremony, accepted it.
Seeing this, the corners of Yin Xue’s lips curved up slightly. "Also," she said, "if you need a construction team, my family happens to have one. Their craftsmanship is guaranteed to be exquisite. Would you like me to help you get in touch?"
Pei Ze nodded. "I’ll have to trouble you, then."
He could build the various systems of the Wizard Tower himself, but the main structure still had to be outsourced to a construction team. After all, he couldn’t just conjure a hundred-meter-tall giant tower out of thin air.
