Chapter 418: Chapter 213: The Real Omen Bird, Divine Blood in Hand
Mo Weng smiled and tossed him a Memory Crystal Ball.
"I figured you’d be coming for this soon."
"It contains the data and construction methods for a Wizard Tower. Take it back and look it over."
"Thank you, Teacher!"
Pei Ze accepted the Memory Crystal Ball with delight.
’This is the advantage of having a teacher. I don’t have to exhaust myself trying to find information; I can just get it directly from him.’
After stowing the Memory Crystal Ball, Pei Ze suddenly remembered something and asked, "Teacher, how are things in the Dark Territory?"
At the mention of the Dark Territory, a sharp glint flashed in Mo Weng’s eyes. "It’s a total mess over there," he said. "Shrinking Ropar’s infectious power is second to none among divine abominations. Over half of the Dark Territory has already become its zone of infection."
"Rose has already dispatched several Demigod-level Wax Melting Demons. With their help, the Dark Elves can hold out for now. However, as Ropar’s power gradually recovers, the outcome will remain unchanged. Sooner or later, Rose will have to intervene personally."
’Shrinking Ropar?’
Pei Ze grew pensive.
He had read about this particular divine abomination in a few books.
It was said to be a divine abomination skilled at manipulating negative energy and absorbing life force. In a way, that made it equivalent to a Divine Spirit in control of the Power of Death.
"You don’t need to worry about this for now."
Mo Weng waved his hand dismissively.
"Divine Spirits are a bunch of extremely cautious cowards. They won’t descend in their true forms unless absolutely necessary. Looking at the situation in the Dark Territory, there won’t be any major moves for at least the next year or two. You should focus on building your Wizard Tower first."
"Yes, Teacher."
Returning to his mansion, Pei Ze went straight to the underground hall.
First, he cautiously set up an isolation Array. Then, he sat cross-legged on the floor and took out the potion vial containing the Divine Blood.
He stared at the brilliant golden Divine Blood for a few moments and took a deep breath. He merged with the silver star, his body instantly transforming into a translucent form of lightning. Only then did he twist open the stopper and pour the Divine Blood onto his palm.
In that instant, a powerful impact that seemed to originate from the soul itself surged forth. The Elemental Fire deep within his Sea of Consciousness leaped wildly, and a roar like rolling thunder, filled with intense bitterness and fury, seemed to echo in his ears!
Pei Ze was prepared. He immediately focused his Spirit to resist the impact.
Outwardly, he sat cross-legged on the ground, motionless as if in a deep trance, appearing completely serene.
But in the realm of his consciousness, he was like a lone skiff on a storm-tossed sea, struggling against the turbulent winds and waves.
An unknown amount of time passed before the impact began to weaken, as if it had lost its momentum. By the time the assault from the Divine Blood had completely dissipated, Pei Ze opened his eyes to find that two full days had passed.
"The power gap between me and a Divine Spirit is still too vast."
Pei Ze let out a long sigh. He figured a Sixth-level Wizard could probably suppress the consciousness erosion from the Divine Blood with little effort.
"This was just from skin contact. If I were to absorb this drop of Divine Blood into my body, the intensity of the consciousness erosion I’d face would increase at least tenfold. I can’t withstand that at all right now."
’If my consciousness were truly eroded by the Divine Blood, even if I wasn’t outright possessed and reborn, my Elemental Fire would be contaminated. The difficulty of my elementalization progress would increase exponentially, essentially cutting off any possibility of advancing.’
’The only way is to do what I just did: continuously fight against the consciousness within the Divine Blood, gradually wearing down its intensity until it’s completely annihilated. Only then would it be perfectly safe to absorb.’
’The only problem is that this method is incredibly time-consuming. It would be impossible to completely purify the Divine Blood in less than three to five years.’
’To an ordinary Elemental Mage, three to five years isn’t long at all—a trivial price for the benefits the Divine Blood provides.’
But for Pei Ze, who was used to his power skyrocketing like a rocket, this speed was just too slow. Fortunately, he had other methods.
"All-Knowing, calculate a way to quickly purify the consciousness in the Divine Blood. Its energy and memories have to be preserved."
