Chapter 388: Chapter 206: Shrinking Ropar, Birth of the Shadow Giant Dragon (Part 2)

"The Shrinker?"

Gu Lin frowned in thought, but she couldn’t recall ever hearing that name.

Of course, she didn’t actually know much about divine abominations to begin with.

"Is it powerful?"

"Among divine abominations, Shrinking Ropar’s power is considered upper-middle tier," Annie said grimly. "Legend says Ropar was born from the stillborn child of a Divine Spirit. It excels at manipulating negative energy, absorbing life and power, and possesses extremely strong regenerative abilities. It’s a very difficult divine abomination to deal with."

Gu Lin was secretly speechless.

’Born from the stillborn child of a Divine Spirit?’

’The origins of divine abominations are truly bizarre.’

"What’s your plan?" Gu Lin asked.

Without a moment’s hesitation, Annie turned and walked away.

"Let’s go. Now that we know which divine abomination it is, there’s no need to investigate further."

Gu Lin froze for several seconds before it registered. She hurriedly chased after her, asking in confusion, "We’re just giving up? You were so interested in divine abominations before."

"I’m still very interested. If possible, I’d love to obtain some of Ropar’s body tissue for experiments. Its abilities are very similar to us vampires, which makes it of great research value to me."

"Then why..."

Without turning back, Annie cut Gu Lin off. "Divine abominations are extremely dangerous beings," she said flatly. "I don’t know how much of Ropar’s power has recovered. Rushing into a confrontation with it would be reckless; it’s easy to get blindsided by an unexpected setback."

"Besides, there’s no need for me to make a move. Someone else is in a bigger hurry than I am."

Gu Lin immediately understood what she meant. "You’re talking about the Spider Goddess?"

"Exactly. The Shrinker detests all living things and will habitually kill every life-form in the surrounding area. If Rose doesn’t step in to stop it, the entire Dark Territory will become a graveyard. At that point, having lost her followers, she too will fall into a deep slumber and eventually perish."

Hearing this, Gu Lin finally understood Annie’s plan.

’She’s planning to be the oriole that stalks the praying mantis hunting the cicada!’

’If she’s lucky, she might not only get the divine abomination’s tissue but also slay a god!’

Gu Lin grew excited at the very thought.

’Slaying a god!’

Back on the Turin Plane, she had witnessed a deicide before, but only from a great distance. She hadn’t been able to see a single detail of the fight. Now, an opportunity to experience it firsthand was right in front of her. How could she not be excited?

Far behind them, a new round of battle—or rather, a one-sided slaughter—had erupted once more.

Faced with the first-generation infected monsters, the Dark Elves were no match at all. They were routed in the first exchange, scattering and fleeing in all directions.

Gu Lin glanced back with a hint of pity in her eyes, then looked away and quickened her pace to catch up with Annie.

...

After crossing a courtyard filled with rare plants, Yin Xue had just stepped onto a long corridor when she saw a smiling, middle-aged man walking toward her.

"Second Uncle, it’s been a while." Yin Xue stopped to greet him.

The man was none other than Yin Guang’s father, Yin Xing, who was also her uncle.

"Ah, Yin Xue. Are you on your way to see your father?" Yin Xing said, his face all smiles.

He didn’t dare treat this niece—the most talented of the family’s younger generation, with power that was perhaps not even inferior to his own—as a mere junior.

"Yes, Father summoned me unexpectedly." A flicker of confusion crossed Yin Xue’s eyes.

’I just saw Father yesterday. I wonder why he suddenly wants to see me again today.’

Yin Xing chuckled. "Perhaps he has some good news for you."

Yin Xue’s heart stirred. She had a feeling Yin Xing knew something, but before she could ask, he waved his hand.

"You should go on ahead."

Yin Xue could only suppress her curiosity, bid Yin Xing farewell, and leave.

Watching Yin Xue’s receding figure, Yin Xing’s face filled with emotion.

"An Elemental Mage at twenty-one, and not even from a Bloodline Clan or a Chosen One... Truly incredible!"

Yin Xue walked through the corridor and went straight to the innermost room on the third floor.

A humanoid creature, pure white, stood before the door. It appeared to be made entirely of ice and snow, and it emanated a faint, white chill.

It had no facial features; its face was completely smooth. Only the curves of its figure indicated that it was female.

"Ah, Young Miss has arrived. Please, come in. The Master is waiting for you inside."

It attentively opened the door and gestured for Yin Xue to enter.

"Thank you."

Yin Xue gave it a slight nod before stepping into the room.

Inside the spacious and bright room, a man in the prime of his life sat behind a desk, smiling as he watched Yin Xue walk in.

"Father."

"Mm, have a seat."

Yin Yongqin motioned for Yin Xue to sit. After she was seated, he studied her for a few moments, a smile playing on his lips.

"It seems you don’t know yet."

Yin Xue was taken aback. "Know what?"

Yin Yongqin said with a smile, "Just yesterday, Pei Ze successfully advanced to Elemental Mage."

The words from Yin Yongqin’s mouth struck Yin Xue like a clap of thunder, leaving her stunned on the spot, eyes wide and speechless.

It took a long moment for the young woman to recover from her shock, her expression one of utter disbelief.

’My junior has advanced to Elemental Mage!’

Yin Xue was completely and utterly shaken.

She didn’t doubt her father’s words; he would never joke about something like this.

But this was just too astonishing!

How long had it been since Pei Ze advanced to Level 3 Wizard?

’It hasn’t even been two full years!’

’And now he’s an Elemental Mage... It’s simply inconceivable!’

Although she had long known that the speed of Pei Ze’s advancement was always astonishing, Yin Xue was still profoundly shocked.

Yin Yongqin was not at all surprised by his daughter’s reaction.
