The sphere of blood drifted toward Annie. Her nostrils flared slightly, a look of disgust flashing in her eyes. With a wave of her hand, the sphere evaporated in an instant, leaving not a single drop behind.

The battle was over in the blink of an eye. Gu Lin wasn’t surprised; she was long accustomed to Annie’s power. Staring at the corpses on the ground, however, she couldn’t help but feel a flicker of curiosity.

"Annie, what are these creatures?"

Due to the environment, most creatures in the Dark Territory were quite hideous. Gu Lin had already seen her fair share over the past few days.

But compared to the monsters before her now, the creatures she had encountered previously suddenly seemed much more pleasant to look at.

Annie didn’t answer. Instead, she swiped two fingers through the air, and a nearby corpse suddenly split in two.

The Vampire Wizard then took a few steps forward, crouching to examine the body for a moment. A rare look of solemnity appeared on her face.

"These aren’t native creatures of the Dark Territory. They’re monsters, corrupted by a Divine Abomination."

"And what’s a Divine Abomination?" Gu Lin asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.

"A Divine Abomination is a truly terrifying type of creature."

The solemnity in Annie’s voice sent a chill down Gu Lin’s spine.

’A creature that this powerful Vampire Wizard describes as terrifying... it must be an absolute nightmare for ordinary Wizards!’

"The original source of Divine Abominations can no longer be traced. Some say they were living weapons created during the Ancient Times—a period even before the Dark Age—for the cosmic war between the gods and the Desolate Gods. Others believe they originate from failed experiments with Divine Power."

"They possess power rivaling that of a Divine Spirit—some are even stronger. They spread death and hatred, drawing strength from both. They are more dangerous and terrifying than even the fiends."

Gu Lin was inwardly astonished.

As far as she knew, fiends were the most dangerous creatures in the Multiverse, bar none.

’To think there’s something even more terrifying than a fiend?’

’What would that even be like?’

Annie quickly answered her unspoken question.

"Divine Abominations radiate an extremely powerful energy that can infect any living thing that gets too close, transforming them into monsters that know only destruction and ruin. The appearance of a single Divine Abomination can often trigger the collapse and utter destruction of a world, or even an entire plane of existence."

"Furthermore, Divine Abominations are incredibly difficult to kill and are virtually immortal. Most of the time, the only option is to seal them away."

"But as time passes, they are sometimes accidentally released or manage to break free from their prisons, causing panic that can spread across entire planes."

Hearing this, Gu Lin finally understood. Her eyes widened as she said, "You mean to say a Divine Abomination was once sealed here in the Dark Territory, and now it’s broken out?"

"It seems so."

Annie stood up. With a casual wave of her hand, a swathe of crimson flame washed over the ground, incinerating the corpses until nothing remained.

"These monsters were infected recently. It must have happened within the last few days."

"However, the level of corruption isn’t severe. It’s unlikely they were corrupted directly by the Divine Abomination itself. This was most likely the work of its spawn. There’s at least one of them nearby."

Gu Lin’s expression instantly tensed, and she cautiously scanned her surroundings.

’If a Divine Abomination is that terrifying, its spawn won’t be weak either.’

"Annie, if Divine Abominations are that terrifying, we should leave the Dark Territory immediately. We can continue our training on another plane."

To Gu Lin’s surprise, Annie rejected the suggestion without a second thought. A rare, intrigued smile graced her beautiful face.

"It’s not every day you come across a Divine Abomination. Now that we’ve found one, I want to observe it up close."

Seeing the faint glimmer in Annie’s eyes, Gu Lin’s face fell. She knew there was no changing Annie’s mind.

She couldn’t help but shudder at the thought of having to face more disgusting creatures like the ones they had just fought.
