Chapter 321: Chapter 187: Long Time No See, Do You Still Remember Me?
Pei Ze glanced at him and gave a slight nod. "I have, yes."
Peng Yi finally processed what he’d heard, his eyes widening as he stared at Pei Ze in astonishment.
’Pei Ze?’
’Is this the Pei Ze from Chenxi City?’
’The genius who supposedly became a Wizard at just seventeen, and then took less than two years to break through and become a Second-level Wizard?’
Peng Yi never would have imagined that the Wizard he had met by chance in the Shadow Realm was none other than the renowned genius from Chenxi City.
Seeing their shocked expressions, Pei Ze was a little surprised. "You know who I am?"
Peng Yi and Shang Tao exchanged a look and nodded in unison.
The latter smiled and explained, "Your reputation has long since spread throughout the neighboring Wizard Cities. In fact, I’d wager there are quite a few Wizards across the entire Star Realm Alliance who know of you now."
"How so?" Pei Ze was genuinely surprised now.
It was understandable that Wizards from Blue Bay City had heard of him; after all, Chenxi City and Blue Bay City weren’t far apart and maintained close ties.
But for his fame to have spread across the entire Star Realm Alliance seemed a bit far-fetched.
Pei Ze was self-aware. While his strength far surpassed many of his peers, putting him leagues ahead of the younger generation in Chenxi City, he was hardly exceptional when measured against the entire Star Realm Alliance.
The Star Realm Alliance was filled with countless geniuses. A nineteen-year-old Second-level Wizard was considered merely excellent, at best.
For instance, many direct descendants of Rule Wizards advanced to Level 3 Wizard by eighteen, and some even became Elemental Mages before they were twenty.
Compared to individuals like that, Pei Ze’s current achievements were hardly remarkable.
Of course, with the Eye of Omniscience, he was confident he would eventually surpass them all.
Seeing Pei Ze’s confusion, Peng Yi smiled and explained, "In two years, it’ll be time for the Battle of the Holy Ring, which is held once every twenty years. According to the rules, only Level 3 Wizards aged twenty or younger can participate. Between our Blue Bay City, your Chenxi City, and Red Lotus City, there are, at a very generous estimate, only two and a half people who qualify."
The Battle of the Holy Ring was renowned throughout the entire Star Realm Alliance.
It originated from an ancient Wizard Tower called the Tower of the Holy Ring.
The Wizard Tower was said to be a relic left behind by a mighty Great Wizard from the Dark Age. After being unearthed by the Star Realm Alliance, it was specially converted into an arena for the Battle of the Holy Ring, a competition used to select exceptional young Wizards.
The major Wizard Cities eagerly participated in every Battle of the Holy Ring.
This was because the victor’s Wizard City would receive a massive allocation of resources from the Star Realm Alliance for the next twenty years—the rewards were incredibly lavish.
With the chance to win both great glory and immense benefits for their home cities, the geniuses of the Star Realm Alliance naturally flocked to the Tower of the Holy Ring.
Pei Ze’s eyebrow rose, and a knowing smile touched his lips. "It seems I’m the ’half,’ then."
Shang Tao chuckled. "You went from the first to the second level in less than two years and have even killed many third-level beings of other races, so your power is already on par with a Level 3 Wizard. Advancing to Level 3 Wizard within two years shouldn’t be difficult for you. Many of us in Blue Bay City believe that you will undoubtedly be Chenxi City’s representative for the Battle of the Holy Ring."
Pei Ze neither confirmed nor denied this. Chenxi City’s Rule Wizards had no direct descendants, so if he managed to advance to Level 3 Wizard, he would indeed be the only one who met the qualifications for the Battle of the Holy Ring.
’No wonder so many Wizards from other cities in the Star Realm Alliance have heard my name.’
’They must be gathering intelligence on potential competitors.’
After a bit more conversation, Pei Ze prepared to leave.
Upon learning that Pei Ze’s destination was Awo Castle, Peng Yi and Shang Tao brazenly suggested they travel together, as they also happened to be headed there.
Pei Ze didn’t refuse.
And so, the group set off for Awo Castle.
After learning that Pei Ze was the genius Wizard from Chenxi City, Peng Yi and Shang Tao’s attitudes became markedly more enthusiastic, and they spent the entire journey trying to get closer to him and build a rapport.
Although they belonged to different Wizard Cities, befriending a genius Wizard as promising as Pei Ze could prove beneficial in the future, so the two were quite eager.
Pei Ze knew exactly what they were doing but didn’t let on.
As the sky began to turn a pale yellow, the group returned to Awo Castle.
After exchanging Secret Technique Marks, a satisfied Peng Yi and Shang Tao took their leave.
Pei Ze led Su Ya back to the Rainbow Inn.
He glanced toward the counter. Yidar was not there, only a Dragon-man stood diligently in his place.
Pei Ze glanced over once before looking away and heading to his room.
He had previously set aside his analysis of the ability to predict the Dark Realm’s appearances in order to create the Dragon Pattern. Now, other than refining the patterns on the Dragon Egg, this was his only remaining task, so naturally, he had to accelerate his progress with all his might.
For the following period, Pei Ze stayed in the inn, focusing on his training and waiting for his analysis to be complete.
Over the next month, with the combined boost from the Dragon Pattern and the Visualization Secret Technique, his Spiritual Power grew far more rapidly than ever before.
By the time the analysis of the ability to predict the Dark Realm’s appearances was complete, Pei Ze’s Spiritual Power had skyrocketed to an energy level of 264.
In addition, his All-Knowing Breathing Technique had finally broken through to the eighth layer. His physique instantly skyrocketed to an energy level of 285, and he officially broke through to the Tier Five Legendary Realm.
A Tier Five Legendary Knight was already powerful enough to contend with a Level 1 Crystalized Wizard. Pei Ze’s body, however, had been enhanced multiple times, and both the quantity and intensity of his awakened Power of Thunder Element far surpassed that of other Legendary Knights of the same tier.
