Chapter 251: Chapter 153: Great Change in Bai Bing City, a Divine Spirit’s Avatar Descends
Guo Qi hadn’t lied.
The knowledge he possessed regarding Alchemy Engravings was indeed quite comprehensive.
After a thorough check to confirm everything was in order, a satisfied Pei Ze left with the Memory Crystal Ball and fifteen thousand merit points.
After making a quick stop at the exchange, Pei Ze headed straight for his residence.
He couldn’t wait to start improving the Alchemy Engravings.
Back in his stone house, Pei Ze sat down on the living room sofa, took out the Memory Crystal Ball, and immediately began to read the knowledge stored within.
In the world of Wizards, the more advanced the technique, the more knowledge it encompassed.
Alchemy Engravings were no exception.
The disciplines it covered alone numbered in the hundreds, far surpassing the Gem Enchantment knowledge he had previously obtained from Gu Lin.
Even with the scanning ability of his Eye of Omniscience, it still took Pei Ze over an hour to record all the information.
’Omniscience, improve the Alchemy Engravings.’
[Task created. Beginning improvement of Alchemy Engravings. Estimated cost: 2984.3 Energy.]
Pei Ze nodded to himself.
’It’s a high-tier Enchantment Pattern, after all. It’s only natural that improving it would consume a lot of Energy.’
’At full throttle, it should be done in just over a month.’
Pei Ze put away the Crystal Ball and took out the rare metals he had purchased at the exchange from his Space Ring.
There were three standard units of a metal combination in total.
’After it absorbs these, Silver Star will be able to evolve into a Tier Three Witchcraft Artifact.’
Pei Ze immediately commanded Silver Star to devour all the metals.
As the metals gradually dissolved and became part of the silvery liquid, Silver Star immediately began to boil violently, like water reaching a rolling boil.
Intense energy fluctuations instantly radiated outward.
Pei Ze watched the liquid metal with a calm expression, waiting patiently.
About two minutes later, the silvery liquid metal calmed down and re-coalesced into a fist-sized mass.
Pei Ze held out his palm, and Silver Star slowly floated down, landing in its center.
The moment the liquid metal touched his skin, a massive amount of information flooded his mind—the new abilities and traits Silver Star had gained from its evolution.
’Both its Attack Power and Defense Power have been strengthened by a large margin.’
’The Spirit consumption hasn’t decreased—in fact, it’s increased. That’s to be expected, since it’s a Tier Three Witchcraft Artifact now.’
’Its malleability and magic conductivity have both increased. That’s a nice bonus.’
The corners of Pei Ze’s mouth curled up slightly.
Increased magic conductivity meant that Silver Star now had a higher affinity for and capacity to hold Elemental Runes, which would undoubtedly be a great boon to his overall power.
’Huh? And what’s this...!’
Pei Ze’s eyes lit up. He suddenly clenched his fist, absorbing Silver Star, and a brilliant silver light instantly spread over his entire body.
He then opened his hand, palm facing forward, and a silver spike slowly extended from it. It detached from his hand and hovered in the air before him.
The next moment, Lightning Runes surged forth one after another, rapidly sinking into the silver spike.
In the blink of an eye, the number of Lightning Runes fused into the spike surpassed forty!
"Excellent!"
An incredibly joyous smile spread across Pei Ze’s face.
Previously, there had been a world of difference between the number of Elemental Runes Silver Star could handle when used alone versus when fused with him.
Even after fusion, the moment Silver Star separated from his body, it was no different than when it was used on its own.
But now that it had evolved into a Tier Three Witchcraft Artifact, that had changed.
Now, Silver Star’s fusion with him was far more complete. Even a piece of the liquid metal separated post-fusion acted as if it were an extension of his own body, capable of being augmented with the same number of Elemental Runes as he could handle himself.
Pei Ze ran a test and found that after fusing with Silver Star, he could now handle up to forty-nine Lightning Runes in his normal state!
At his absolute limit, he could manage fifty-four!
He then tried activating his Tough Magic Tattoo, and the number of Lightning Runes surged again to sixty-one and sixty-six, respectively!
’At this rate, if I were to burn the Tough Magic Tattoo, I could probably handle close to a hundred Lightning Runes!’
Pei Ze was overjoyed.
With nearly a hundred Lightning Runes, he might even be able to fight a Level 3 Wizard.
Of course, that would only be for a single fight, as he couldn’t sustain such a state for long.
Regardless, Silver Star’s evolution into a Tier Three Witchcraft Artifact had once again caused his power to leap by a huge margin.
Snapping out of his joyous reverie, Pei Ze immediately issued a command in his mind:
’Omniscience, calculate the optimal metal combination for Silver Star to evolve into a Tier Four Witchcraft Artifact.’
[Task created. Calculating optimal metal combination for Silver Star’s evolution to a Tier Four Witchcraft Artifact. Estimated cost: 325.9 Energy.]
’A little over three hundred and twenty Energy... that’s only about four days’ worth of time.’
Pei Ze wasn’t in a hurry.
A Tier Three Witchcraft Artifact was more than enough for him until he broke through to become a Second-level Wizard.
Even if he were given a Tier Four Witchcraft Artifact, he wouldn’t be able to use it anyway.
In fact, the vast majority of Level 1 Wizards were still using Tier One Witchcraft Artifacts. Very few possessed Tier Two Witchcraft Artifacts, to say nothing of Tier Three.
Besides, his Silver Star, having been so carefully cultivated by him, was definitely among the absolute cream of the crop of all Tier Three Witchcraft Artifacts.
After composing himself, Pei Ze put away Silver Star and took out a large pile of books, stacking them on the coffee table.
A single glance revealed they were all books on Three-Ring Spell models.
Dispel Magic, Protection from Energy, Phantom Steed, Sepia Snake Sigil, Eagle Eye, Third-level Monster Summoning Skill, Lightning Bolt, Vampiric Touch, Flying Skill, Haste...
After breaking through to First-level Crystallization, Pei Ze could finally begin learning Three-Ring Spells.
He rarely used spells in combat anymore, largely thanks to his Elemental Runes. The main reason, however, was that the opponents he faced were always of a higher level than him, and spells were generally ineffective against such powerful foes.
