After the End: Mari's Second Life
Chapter Forty One: The Bloodline Decree
The final echoes of Mari’s scream hung suspended in the hyper-charged air of the obsidian sanctum, a pure sonic shockwave of absolute dominance that bled out through the open broadcast arrays and straight across the ruined continent.
Adrian gave one final, bone-deep growl, burying himself to the hilt inside her trembling, hyper-sensitive heat before collapsing forward, his massive chest heaving against her bare shoulder.
"Breathe, Queen," Adrian panted, his heavy hands still locked around her hips, anchoring her against the scarred steel of the command desk as the aftershocks of the climax rolled through her nervous system in violent, shivering waves.
Kael stayed pressed between her knees, his face flushed and slick with sweat, his dark eyes burning with unblinking, feral worship as he pressed one final, lingering kiss against her inner thigh. Ren slammed his fist onto the main console, cutting the audio feed to the outer sectors while keeping the panoramic screens locked on a live, unblinking map of the submissive territories.
Sera pulled back from Mari’s shoulder, wiping a stray drop of blood from her lips with a slow, satiated smile, her sub-zero skin crackling with faint, fading arcs of frost. Lena was still curled at the base of the dais, softly sobbing against Mari’s ankles in absolute, delirious devotion.
Mari slowly lifted her head, her dark eyes flashing with lethal, sovereign fire. Her body ached from head to toe, every muscle heavy and bruised, but she had never felt more alive—or more powerful.
She shoved Adrian back just enough to slide off the steel desk, her bare feet hitting the blood-slicked marble with a sharp, echoing snap. The pack moved with her instantly, a suffocating wall of muscle, heat, and lethal protection as she stepped toward the massive, shattered window overlooking the burning, sprawling skyline of the capital.
"The capital is ours," Mari said, her voice dropping to a low, vibrating hum that commanded every square inch of the room. "The Council is erased. The grid is locked to my pulse."
She turned slowly, her gaze sweeping over Kael, Ren, Sera, Lena, and Adrian.
"But a kingdom built on a single room of ashes isn't an empire," Mari hissed, a dark, devastating smile cutting across her lips. "It's just a cage."
Adrian stepped up behind her, his massive hands sliding over her bare shoulders, his heavy breath hot against her ear. "Name the target, Queen. The southern sectors? Or the orbital platforms?"
Mari raised her chin, the red glow of the dying diagnostic terminals casting a brutal, beautiful light over her face as she looked out toward the dark horizon where the rest of the continent waited in trembling silence.
"All of them," Mari whispered. "Get the transport bays online. We ride at dawn."
