After the Divorce, My Wife and I Were Both Reborn
Chapter 267 - 264: Horny Dog
Chapter 267: Chapter 264: Horny Dog
The next day, the all-night storm finally subsided.
Jiang Xia slept until almost ten o’clock before waking up in a daze. He looked around for his other two roommates, but they were gone. ’They probably went to the library to study,’ he figured.
He habitually pulled out his phone to check for messages and found several missed calls from Wang Ming, along with a text asking if he was awake yet.
Jiang Xia rubbed his head, just now remembering that he was supposed to teach Wang Ming storyboarding today. ’It’s all my fault for having too much fun with my girlfriend last night,’ he thought. ’Otherwise, I wouldn’t have just woken up.’
"Awake now. I’ll be there in a bit."
He texted Wang Ming back, then sent another message to Lin Yanwan, asking if she was awake.
When he didn’t get a reply within a minute, he threw off his covers, got out of bed to wash up, and slid open the glass door to his balcony. The first thing he felt was a biting chill.
The temperature had indeed dropped after last night’s storm. He estimated it was only eleven or twelve degrees Celsius during the day. The wind carried a damp chill, making him feel as if winter had arrived early.
He found his rinsing cup, squeezed toothpaste onto his brush, and stood on the balcony, watching the world outside as he brushed his teeth. The road was slick with rain, and the rows of trees below had been battered by the storm. Fallen leaves were scattered everywhere.
He glanced up at his girlfriend’s dorm room across the way and happened to see her walking out of the washroom with a basin in her hands. She looked over at him at the same moment, and their eyes met in a silent, mutual understanding.
Lin Yanwan shot him a glare, a mixture of shyness and annoyance. ’If it weren’t for him,’ she thought, ’my first order of business after waking up wouldn’t have been taking a shower.’
Jiang Xia blinked, unsure of how he’d managed to annoy her again. ’She’s probably still not satisfied, huh?’
’Yep, that must be it!’
Once he finished washing up, he called Lin Yanwan. "Babe, want to get something to eat?"
"Mm, okay."
They met up downstairs. Seeing his girlfriend, Jiang Xia grinned and reached for her hand. Lin Yanwan couldn’t help but recall the suggestive things he’d said while teasing her last night, and a faint blush crept onto her cheeks.
The moment they reached a secluded spot, Jiang Xia cupped her face in his hands and gave her a deep, lingering kiss.
"Mmph—"
Lin Yanwan let out a muffled whimper and finally managed to push him away. Her face flushed red as she glanced around. Seeing that no one was there, she shot him a fierce glare.
"Horndog!"
Jiang Xia accepted this new title with a grin. "Honey, that’s not what you were saying on QQ last night. Should I read what you said out loud for you?"
"??? You’re dead!"
Lin Yanwan bit her lip, her face flushed a deep crimson. She lunged for his phone. If he actually read it out loud and a single passerby heard, she would die of embarrassment.
"Heh heh heh, that was just the interest. You’re the one who said you were okay with any position..."
Before he could finish, Lin Yanwan scrambled to cover his mouth, hissing in annoyance, "Don’t you dare say it!"
Jiang Xia licked her palm. ’I rarely get to see her look this alluring,’ he thought. ’The body of an innocent girl, but the mindset of a young wife... the combination is just too incredible.’
’Speaking of which, I wonder if we can try to unlock some new ’modes’ in the future.’
"Ew, you’re so gross." Lin Yanwan snatched her hand back and quickly pulled out a tissue to wipe off his saliva.
"Well, you can lick me back. If you don’t like hands, other places are fine too," Jiang Xia chuckled.
"Pah!" Lin Yanwan retorted, flustered.
Bickering playfully, the two walked into the cafeteria, bought two simple steamed buns, and then rode their bicycle toward the Science Park.
On the way, Jiang Xia pedaled while Lin Yanwan sat on the back rack. She would take a bite of her bun, then lift it to Jiang Xia’s mouth to feed him.
If his bros back in the dorm saw this, they’d be green with envy.
Around ten-thirty, the two arrived at the office.
Li Weiya was overseeing the renovation of the recording studio, while Wang Ming was diligently practicing what he’d learned the day before.
The two of them first said hello to Li Weiya before heading to their workstations to sit down.
Seeing Jiang Xia finally arrive, Wang Ming gave him a look of mock grievance. "We agreed on a nine o’clock start, and here the boss and the boss’s wife are, leading the charge on sleeping in, is that it?"
He had spent the entire previous day drawing the storyboards for just the first minute. At this rate, storyboarding a single episode of *Cat and Mouse* would take him nearly a week.
Jiang Xia, on the other hand, could finish an entire episode in two days. His efficiency was leagues beyond Wang Ming’s.
"Ahem. The storm last night... I didn’t sleep very well," Jiang Xia said with a light cough.
Lin Yanwan silently reached behind him and gave his lower back a hard pinch. ’The storm?’ she fumed internally. ’It was hormones, you liar!’
’Everyone got hot-headed and just wanted to ’sleep’, not actually sleep.’
"So, you’ve pretty much grasped everything from yesterday’s lesson, right?"
Wang Ming nodded.
"Alright then. Same as yesterday. You start drawing, but this time, you need to finish the entire storyboard before I look at it. Let’s see if your understanding has improved."
As he spoke, Jiang Xia casually wrote out a script for a one-minute scene and handed it to Old Wang. Wang Ming’s eyes widened. Even though he’d witnessed Jiang Xia’s writing speed before, it still shocked him every time.
’He can just whip up an interesting story on the spot,’ Wang Ming thought. ’When he draws the storyboards himself, he doesn’t even need a script.’
’It’s just insane.’
"This one-minute story... did you have it planned out already, or did you just think of it now?" Wang Ming couldn’t help but ask.
"Just now," Jiang Xia said with a smile, patting Old Wang’s shoulder. "Don’t be so surprised. Once you get more experience, you’ll be able to do it too."
These were meant as words of encouragement, of course. Jiang Xia knew the plots and scenes of *Cat and Mouse* like the back of his hand, which was why he could produce scripts on the fly. No one else could ever hope to match him, no matter how long they practiced.
The corner of Wang Ming’s mouth twitched. He felt that even if he spent another eight or ten years in this industry, he would never reach Jiang Xia’s current level.
’Then again,’ he wondered, ’I started drawing long before he did. How does he have so much professional experience?’
It was something Wang Ming could never figure out.
He took the script and went back to honing his directorial skills. Jiang Xia, meanwhile, used the opportunity to modify the setting of *Slam Dunk*—in other words, to localize it.
After some careful revisions, the new setting held together quite well. All the character names would be localized into Chinese, the school would be changed from a high school to a university, and as for the all-important national tournament, they could simply adopt the format of the national collegiate basketball league.
’After all, in this day and age, high schools in this country rarely have clubs. Almost ninety-nine percent of high school students pour all their energy into studying.’
’If he copied the Japanese original and made a story about high schoolers dominating the basketball world, he was afraid the show would be ripped to shreds by the entire country for its flawed logic the moment it aired.’
’He could even imagine the flood of complaints from parents: Why are good high school students playing basketball instead of studying? It would be seen as promoting a twisted, corrupting set of values.’
’He wasn’t about to take that risk.’
