After the Divorce, I Unlocked a Perfect Life
Chapter 376 - 235: How About I Find Some Footage For You to Study?
Neither of them spoke.
Lin Jiang prepared to continue, and Chen Jingxian waited for him to do so.
SLAP—
Lin Jiang struck again. This time, the force was a little greater than before, even causing her to tremble slightly.
Chen Jingxian couldn’t help but let out a soft moan.
Though the sound was faint, Lin Jiang still heard it.
Even so, Chen Jingxian didn’t move, holding her previous position.
’Why does this feel... a little good?’
’So it’s true. Women really are into this...’
’All the more reason not to let her have her way...’
This time, Lin Jiang’s hand rested on her, slowly beginning to explore.
Chen Jingxian’s small, fair hands clenched into fists. She bit her lip, even clamping her legs together tightly.
’This is torture...’
Lin Jiang continued his light, feathery touches, which only agitated Chen Jingxian further.
"Alright, that’s enough..."
Chen Jingxian stood up straight, the blush on her face yet to fade.
"I’m the one in charge here, you know. This only stops when I say so."
"No! I’m going to resist."
Chen Jingxian’s heart pounded. ’He hit me and he groped me... I guess he’s kept his promise...’
"Fine, then. On to the next stage. How about we discuss our import-export trade?"
Chen Jingxian snuck a glance back at Lin Jiang.
His reaction was even more obvious...
"You... can’t you take care of that yourself...?"
"Doesn’t look like I can..."
Tilting her head slightly, Chen Jingxian looked at Lin Jiang.
’I’m already this worked up, let alone him.’
’He must be feeling it even more than I am...’
’Maybe I should help him...’
"W-well..."
Chen Jingxian hesitated. "What do you... want me to do...?"
"The import-export trade, of course..."
"You’re just bullying me! I don’t know how to do any of that..."
"You live and you learn. These are essential everyday Skills that you need to master."
"Then... what should I do?"
"Well..."
Lin Jiang grinned at Chen Jingxian. "How about I find some reference material for you to study?"
"Okay..."
...
「Tide Fresh Market.」
As a restaurant specializing in seafood, Tide Fresh Market was very well-known in Zhonghai.
Though it hadn’t earned a Michelin star, the average price of over a thousand per person was enough to deter many.
Inside a private room, Zheng Jianghe, Li Wuyang, and Zhou Jin were all present.
Also with them was a middle-aged man with his hair parted to the side.
The man’s name was Chu Jianhua, and he was the chairman of a restaurant chain association.
"Chairman Chu, thank you for your help today. I propose a toast," Zheng Jianghe said, raising his glass.
"Young Master Zheng, you’re too kind. It was nothing. I can easily help you take care of a small noodle shop."
Although Chu Jianhua had some connections, he was nowhere near the same league as Zheng Jianghe.
Even the other men in the room wielded more power than he did.
An association without official government backing might be able to fool ordinary people, but it was useless in front of these wealthy scions.
Just being able to dine with them meant he was moving up in the world.
"This is just the beginning. I hear he’s opened a barbecue place, too. When it opens, go have a look. It would be best if you could shut them both down."
"His noodle shop is extremely popular right now. Forcing it to close might be difficult," Chu Jianhua said.
"But if I continue the negative exposure, I can definitely hurt his business. It won’t be as popular as it was."
"Just do your best with that. The most important target is the processing plant behind him," Zheng Jianghe said.
"My friend already explained the situation. See if you can expose what’s going on at that plant."
"Mu Xing, right? For that, we’ll have to go after them on hygiene violations. An inspection is guaranteed to turn something up," Chu Jianhua said with a grin.
Zheng Jianghe nodded and turned to Zhou Jin.
"Old Zhou, you’re the expert when it comes to social media. Spread those posts even wider, buy more headlines and trending slots. We have to force this topic to the top."
"Don’t worry, Brother Zheng. I’ve already started. It’s on multiple platforms, and the stories are already trending."
"Keep ramping it up. We need to trigger a chain reaction."
Clearly, Zheng Jianghe also understood the internet and knew how to manipulate online traffic.
As the saying goes: when a wall starts to fall, everyone gives it a push.
Once a negative story became big enough, other online personalities would jump on the bandwagon to chase engagement.
If the prevailing narrative was negative, they would join in on the criticism; if it was positive, they would lavish it with praise.
Lin Jiang’s shop was already a viral sensation in Zhonghai with a big reputation. That made it a prime target for negative online news; otherwise, no one would have cared enough to watch the reports.
All they had to do was crank up the pressure and get the story to a critical level of hype. Other influencers would then jump into the fray. At that point, not only would his noodle shop be affected, but so would his processing plant and Berkeley Mall. And then, his objective would be achieved.
"I’ve already made the arrangements for that," Zhou Jin said. "The online narrative is already shifting, and plenty of influencers are starting to cover it. Give me one more night, and I can triple the engagement."
"I’ll send you another million tomorrow to add fuel to the fire," Li Wuyang chimed in.
Li Wuyang was a smart man. He knew he stood to gain the most from this, so he naturally had to contribute. Hiding in the background and doing nothing would damage his reputation within their circle.
Zheng Jianghe nodded in satisfaction and raised his glass again. "With all of us working together on this, plus Chairman Chu’s help, taking him down won’t be hard at all."
