After the Divorce, I Unlocked a Perfect Life

Chapter 369 - 232: I’ll Only Let You Tutor Me

  • Next Chapter

"I didn’t actually plan on having our tutoring session here, but now that you mention it, the office doesn’t seem so bad."

Lin Jiang patted his desk. "It has a desk and a chair. There’s no place more suitable for tutoring."

"W-what if someone comes in?"

"We’ll just lock the door."

Xu Yingjun didn’t say anything more. She quietly locked the door, then took the stockings out of the bag.

"Brother Jiang, which pair do you like?"

Looking at the styles in Xu Yingjun’s hands, he saw they were the two very normal ones.

"Didn’t you also buy a pair that’s open in the middle? Why didn’t you take those out?"

"Ah? Brother Jiang, you saw?"

"It was such an obvious little move. How could I not have noticed?"

Xu Yingjun tucked her hair behind her ear to hide her embarrassment. "Then I’ll go change..."

For the next hour or so, Lin Jiang gave Xu Yingjun a comprehensive tutoring session. As for whether she absorbed any of it, that was her business.

After the tutoring ended, Lin Jiang stretched his body and looked out at the bright sunshine.

’This kind of life is pretty great.’

"Did you understand all the key points I just went over?"

"Umm..."

Xu Yingjun managed to say, "I only understood a little bit..."

"Understanding just a little bit won’t do. I’m going to quiz you."

"Then let’s do it like before. If I haven’t learned it, you can punish me."

"Not bad, not bad. Proactive students like you are rare these days," Lin Jiang said. "Do you have class today?"

"No, but I should get back. I have to make use of all my time."

"Now that you’ve relaxed, it’s time to get back to the fight."

Xu Yingjun lowered her head, too embarrassed to speak, and changed the subject instead.

"I can get back on my own, you don’t need to drive me."

"It’s fine, I’m not busy anyway."

"Thank you, Brother Jiang."

"What are you thanking me for?"

Xu Yingjun lowered her head slightly. "Thank you for tutoring me, Brother Jiang."

"You’re welcome."

After the lesson was over, Lin Jiang drove Xu Yingjun back.

Just like before, after their session, they first dropped off the "little outfits" she’d bought at her place.

"Are you going to wait here for Tongtong to get back, or head to campus?"

"I’ll go back. I can still get some reading in and solidify the key points from earlier."

This time, Xu Yingjun was talking about actual key points.

Because Lin Jiang really had taught her some useful things.

Xu Yingjun looked at Lin Jiang expectantly. "Brother Jiang, since Tongtong isn’t back yet and you’re not busy, how about we go for a walk around campus?"

"Sure, let’s take a walk."

The two began to stroll leisurely around the Jiaoda campus.

A handsome man and a beautiful woman, the pair had many people exclaiming how well-matched they were.

The campus was much livelier in the afternoon. Students without classes were out and about, and the air was filled with an aura of youth.

A large crowd had gathered by the basketball court.

No matter the university, the basketball courts are always the most crowded. A prestigious school like Jiaoda was no exception, with plenty of girls watching the guys play.

At an age where hormones raged, it was perfectly normal for guys and girls to admire each other.

"What time do you two usually have your tutoring sessions? Is there a fixed schedule?" Lin Jiang asked casually.

"Teacher Shen is pretty busy, so our schedule isn’t fixed. She always arranges the next day’s session the day before. Anyway, the two of us are pretty free, so any time works for us."

Xu Yingjun said, "We were supposed to have a session today, but it seems one of Teacher Shen’s family members is sick. She went to the hospital, so she canceled today’s class."

After a pause, Xu Yingjun continued, "Last night, Tongtong and I were talking about it. We wanted to ask about the situation and maybe buy a gift to visit her at the hospital, but since it’s not a happy occasion, we didn’t know how to bring it up."

Lin Jiang knew a little about Shen Qingqiu’s situation. Her mother was hospitalized, and her condition wasn’t very optimistic. She had to teach her students during the day and tutor Li Yueting and Xu Yingjun in her free time.

On top of all that, she also had to go to the hospital to look after her mother. All her energy was being pulled in different directions.

Lin Jiang couldn’t help but admire her. Under such immense pressure, she could remain so composed, her expression as calm as still water.

Most men couldn’t handle that, let alone a woman.

No wonder she had come this far. The toughness in her bones was beyond imagination.

After some thought, Lin Jiang decided not to tell them about Shen Qingqiu’s situation.

Although he hadn’t interacted with her much, he could tell she was an incredibly strong-willed, and even extremely proud, person.

She had fought her way out of an ordinary family to achieve what she had today.

This was her vulnerable side, something she naturally wouldn’t show to her students.

"Your job right now is to study. The best way to repay her is to get into Jiaoda’s graduate program. She’s putting her heart into teaching you; if you don’t get in, you’ll be letting Teacher Shen down..."

Suddenly!

Halfway through his sentence, Lin Jiang saw a basketball flying toward them. He grabbed Xu Yingjun and pulled her a step to the side as the ball flew past her cheek.

"Sorry, we didn’t do it on purpose, haha..."

Lin Jiang used to be the captain of the school team, and he had hit people with the ball while playing before.

Most of the time, a sincere apology was enough to resolve the issue. No one would get hung up over something so minor.

But the tone of these guys was sarcastic and passive-aggressive.

"Can you get the ball for us?"

Lin Jiang and Xu Yingjun turned to look and saw that the person who had spoken was Cheng Shukai, the guy they had run into at the bookstore.

"It’s him again! This guy is so annoying!"

"Has he been looking for you these past few days?"
