After the Divorce, I Unlocked a Perfect Life

Chapter 361 - 228: The Self-Satisfied Class Reunion

After dropping off Qiu Yunong, Lin Jiang went to the new barbecue shop.

Come to think of it, it had already been over six years since he graduated.

But in all those years, it seemed he had only been back once.

Returning here again, the past came flooding back. The memories of his vibrant youth made Lin Jiang feel somewhat sentimental.

The barbecue shop was located on Spring Rain Road, just outside the north gate of Zhonghai Business University.

This was the snack street near Shangda University, filled with all sorts of snack stalls, big and small, as well as many restaurants.

There were small eateries that competed on price and high-end restaurants where the bill per person could be several hundred yuan. The area was always bustling at night.

There were several restaurants he had eaten at during his school days that were still just as popular now.

But most of them were long gone.

’Perhaps that’s just how life is. Some people go, some people stay, and when they leave, there isn’t even a goodbye.’

Indulging in a bit of artsy nostalgia, Lin Jiang parked his car and took a walk down the familiar snack street.

Most of the people wandering around were students from Shangda University. The girls mostly wore short skirts and shorts, their pale legs on display, but it wasn’t so much sexy as it was filled with a youthful energy.

At 89 Spring Rain Road, the interior renovations were still in full swing.

When he walked in, he found both Liang Shuhuo and Yang Tao there. Liang Shuhuo was even getting her hands dirty, proving she was a woman of many talents.

"Brother Jiang, you’re here."

Seeing Lin Jiang, Yang Tao walked over to him, with Liang Shuhuo right behind.

"You guys are moving pretty fast. It’s almost done."

"It used to be a barbecue shop, so the ventilation system was already in place. There wasn’t much that needed changing. We’ve been working overtime every day, so it should be ready in about another week."

Lin Jiang nodded, satisfied with the pace of the renovation.

"Have you thought of a name for the barbecue shop?" Liang Shuhuo asked.

"Zhongjiang Barbecue."

"That name is pretty conventional. It doesn’t really fit the modern trend for young people. Is there a special meaning behind it?" she asked.

"Xiaojiang Noodle Shop, Zhongjiang Barbecue. See? They connect."

After hearing Lin Jiang’s explanation, Liang Shuhuo laughed.

"You’re so casual with your naming. Is there a ’Da Jiang’ in the future?"

"You actually guessed right. I’ll open a Da Jiang Hot Pot next."

Liang Shuhuo didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "I guess when you’re rich, you can be as willful as you want and name things whatever you like."

After a bit more small talk, Lin Jiang started to wander around the shop.

At over 500 square meters, it was much larger than the noodle shop, offering a lot more room to work with.

Perhaps because it was near the university, the design style was more youthful, even having a slight cyberpunk feel to it. In a way, it catered to the student crowd.

RING RING RING—

Lin Jiang’s phone rang. It was a call from Qin Youyou.

"Brother Jiang, where are you? Are you free for dinner tonight?"

Lin Jiang glanced at his watch and saw it was already past five in the evening.

"Sure. Where are we eating?"

"Brother Yi said he wants to treat you to dinner. He said you can pick the place."

"Then let’s do it over by Shangda University. There’s a place called Huayan Building. We can eat there."

"Okay, we’ll call you when we get there."

"Alright."

Hearing that Lin Jiang had plans for the evening, Liang Shuhuo’s enthusiasm waned.

’I was hoping to have dinner with Lin Jiang tonight. Looks like that’s not happening.’

"Brother, when will you have time to eat with me? If this keeps up, I’ll feel like I’ve been cast aside."

"I still have a little time. If you really feel that way, I can let you ’eat’ for a bit."

Liang Shuhuo instantly understood Lin Jiang’s meaning.

"No way. That wouldn’t be satisfying at all. I wouldn’t even be able to ’eat’ properly."

"You’re quite demanding," Lin Jiang said.

"The snack street is right outside. I can take you for a walk."

"I’d like that. I want some grilled squid."

"No problem."

"And I want two."

"Also not a problem."

"Let’s go."

The two of them headed out. Lin Jiang said a quick goodbye to Yang Tao and left the barbecue shop.

Yang Tao silently smoked a cigarette.

’This is so damn infuriating!’

The snack street outside the university was divided into two parts.

The first part had all kinds of snacks, while the latter half was for daily necessities, including clothes, shoes, hats, socks, and pajamas.

You could find anything a college student might need here, and the prices were all very cheap.

"I haven’t been to a place like this in a long time. I used to think I was pretty young, but now, seeing all these young girls, I suddenly feel old."

"Don’t be so dramatic. Based on looks and figure alone, you’re not inferior to any of them."

Lin Jiang wasn’t just flattering Liang Shuhuo. Among this crowd of female university students, she was truly a standout. The only thing that set her apart was her aura.

Her black, form-fitting skirt, paired with nude stockings and black high heels, screamed high-level professional. Her presence was completely different from that of the female students.

"It’s not just about looks and figure."

Liang Shuhuo lifted her chin, and Lin Jiang followed her gaze to a small stall nearby.

It was a stall selling underwear. Most of it was for women; the men’s boxer briefs didn’t even make up a quarter of the selection.

Several female students were picking through the items at the front of the stall. Business was quite good.

"Look at the styles that woman is selling. They’re basically all cotton, and some have cartoon characters on them. Only college girls would like styles like that. I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing them."

Liang Shuhuo said:

"That’s why I said I can’t compare to them. I’m not young anymore. I’ve lost that innocent vibe."

An image of Liang Shuhuo wearing that kind of underwear suddenly flashed through Lin Jiang’s mind. ’The contrast would be pretty interesting,’ he thought.
