When the man walked in, all eyes fell on Fan Jiatu.

At that moment, the members of the CTC Team all walked over to Fan Jiatu.

Zheng Jianghe extended his hand, the excitement on his face hard to hide.

"You’re just in time. The race is about to start."

"This is quite a scene. I thought it was just an ordinary race, so I didn’t rush over," Fan Jiatu said with a smile.

"It might be a small event for you, but for our team, it’s a major race."

Zheng Jianghe took out a cigarette and offered it to Fan Jiatu.

"There can be absolutely no slip-ups in today’s race. We can’t lose."

While smoking his cigarette, Fan Jiatu glanced in the direction of the PRC Team.

"Are those the guys you’re racing against? Did they bring any outsiders?"

Both of these teams were formed by rich kids, all amateur drivers.

If he was racing against people like them, Fan Jiatu felt it would be no challenge; he could win with minimal effort.

If the other side had also hired a professional driver, he would have to get serious, and there would even be a chance of losing.

"No outsiders, just their own team members."

"Today’s format is a race for first place, right? As long as I finish first, the team wins. Is that it?"

"Right. So you don’t have to worry about anything else. Just run your own race."

"No problem. I’m ready whenever you are."

"Go do some warm-ups first. We’re starting soon."

"Alright."

Everyone’s eyes were on Fan Jiatu, and they broke into discussion.

"Fan Jiatu is the champion of the CTCC competition. He must be here to race, right?"

"I wouldn’t think so, but he’s wearing his racing suit. It doesn’t look like he’s just here to watch."

"Isn’t this a complete curb stomp? These rich kids are all amateurs, and suddenly a pro shows up. How are they supposed to compete? Might as well just hand him the championship."

The whispers in the crowd continued, but the people from the CTC Team paid them no mind.

Zheng Jianghe only cared about the result; he didn’t care about the process.

"That son of a bitch actually went and got a professional driver?" Liang Chaoyun cursed.

"No wonder they’re using this format. As long as Fan Jiatu wins, their team wins," said Xu Pingchuan.

"Don’t panic. Even if we lose, we can’t lose our nerve. The race hasn’t even started. Even if the Jade Emperor himself showed up, we can’t back down," said Lu Chongyi.

"The problem now is that compared to Fan Jiatu, our skills are worlds apart. We know the result without even racing," Qian Yiwen said.

"After the race starts, you guys use your cars to try and block Fan Jiatu. Create an opportunity for me."

"We can’t just hope for the best. What if we lose? We’ll not only lose face, but we’ll also have to let them graffiti our cars. Our team will be finished."

"It’s fine. Even if we lose, I’ll have an excuse. Fucking shameless, bringing in a pro driver to play."

As he spoke, Lu Chongyi looked at Lin Jiang.

"Don’t race today. The risk is a bit high. Zheng Jianghe will definitely go after your Voice of the Dark Night."

"I already agreed. There’s no reason to back out now."

Lin Jiang looked back at the PRC Team’s cars. "Which one can I drive?"

"You’ve got guts!" Lu Chongyi said.

"You take car number five. Race in Old Sun’s place."

With that, Lu Chongyi waved to someone on the team. "Old Sun, give me the car keys."

The man called Old Sun was very young and wore a pair of flashy orange glasses. When he came over, he handed the keys directly to Lin Jiang.

"I’ll go wait in the car. Just give me a shout when it starts," Lin Jiang said.

"Got it."

Lin Jiang walked straight to car number five, with Qin Youyou following behind him.

"Brother Jiang, this is your first time driving this kind of car, isn’t it?"

"It is. But it’s pretty much like a minivan. They’re both automatic."

"You have such a great attitude, to be able to joke at a time like this."

"The race hasn’t started yet. It’s not decided who will win or lose."

"Hehe, that’s a great mindset to have."

On the other side, Lu Chongyi walked over to Zheng Jianghe.

"You guys are being pretty shameless. If you can’t handle losing, then don’t play. What’s the deal with bringing in a professional driver?"

"The rules of the race just say you have to be a team member. Master Fan is a member of our team, so isn’t he allowed to race?"

"You clearly just pulled him in at the last minute, so why are you trying to hide it? That’s just despicable, shameless, and vile."

"So what if I brought him in at the last minute? As long as he’s a member of the team, it’s fine."

Zheng Jianghe pointed at Lin Jiang in car number five. "I allowed him to join at the last minute. Naturally, the same rule applies to me. You can’t have a double standard."

"Fine. If you’re going to be shameless, what else can I say? Let the results speak for themselves."

Lu Chongyi turned and walked away.

’If he’s going to be shameless, then I can’t afford to be either.’

’If I lose, I’ll just say they cheated. I absolutely refuse to take this loss.’

Lu Chongyi left, and Zheng Jianghe sidled up to Fan Jiatu.

"Brother Fan, see that number five car over there?"

Following Zheng Jianghe’s gaze, he asked, "I see it. What’s up?"

"During the race later, give him a little something extra. Don’t let him have too smooth a run."

"What do you mean? You want me to mess him up?"

Zheng Jianghe nodded. "The night before last, we were racing on the highway, and he screwed me over. When the race starts, find a chance to screw him over for me."

"Just a small matter," Fan Jiatu said.

As a former professional driver, racing against these rich kids was like playing a game. He could drive however he wanted, show off a little, and knocking one or two cars out of the race was just a standard maneuver.

"Let’s start now. There’s no need to waste any more time on them."
