After the Divorce, I Unlocked a Perfect Life
Chapter 335 - 214: He Siyao’s Subtle Thoughts
"Can’t bear to see her go?"
Seeing Lin Jiang staring at Li Yueting’s back, Qin Yangyang assumed he was feeling reluctant.
"Yeah," Lin Jiang said, playing along.
"I’ve figured you out. You’re a classic case of a sharp tongue but a soft heart," Qin Yangyang said.
"You two bicker the moment you see each other, but now that she’s out of your sight, you’re already missing her."
"She’s my sister, after all," Lin Jiang said, feigning sentimentality.
"She’s in Zhonghai studying for her exam, not moving to another city. You can see her whenever you want, so there’s no need to miss her."
Lin Jiang nodded. "How were the tutoring fees settled? How will Shen Qingqiu and Professor Liu split the money? Who should I send the payment to?"
"From what Professor Liu said, it sounds like he doesn’t plan on taking any of it. It will all go to Teacher Shen. She is his star pupil, after all."
Habitually tucking her hair behind her ear, Qin Yangyang said:
"Besides, for someone of Professor Liu’s stature, this amount of money is nothing. And since Teacher Shen is his student, it’s only natural he wouldn’t take any of it."
"So, it seems like we’re the ones getting a great deal with her agreeing to tutor."
"You could definitely say that. Even though Teacher Shen is only a lecturer, her skills are top-notch. She’s more than qualified to teach those two."
"Should I pay the tutoring fee all at once or in installments?"
"Professor Liu suggested installments. If you approve of Teacher Shen’s teaching and they can keep up with her pace, then you can transfer the rest. But I think..."
Qin Yangyang paused. "You should think about it. If you can, just transfer the whole amount. It’ll leave a good impression. That’s just my suggestion, though. You have to make the final decision. After all, 200,000 isn’t a small sum."
Lin Jiang nodded. ’She’s about to become my NPC, so of course I have to transfer all the money.’
"Give me her account details later."
"I don’t have her account details," Qin Yangyang said.
"I’ll just give you her contact information. It’s not convenient for me to act as a go-between. You two can just communicate directly."
"That works."
Taking out her phone, Qin Yangyang sent Shen Qingqiu’s number to Lin Jiang.
"I have things to do this afternoon, so I can’t stay. You two can discuss the details about Tongtong," Qin Yangyang said.
"Okay, go take care of business."
Lin Jiang saw Qin Yangyang to her car, but he didn’t leave right away.
He sent Shen Qingqiu a friend request on WeChat, but it wasn’t accepted immediately. ’She must be talking with Li Yueting and Xu Yingjun.’
He opened the task description.
[Task Description: "Sickness waits for no one. I hope I can earn this 200,000."]
According to the task, he just had to transfer the 200,000 tutoring fee to complete it. There was no difficulty at all.
But during the meal, he had learned something else from Shen Qingqiu’s thoughts.
For her, 200,000 wasn’t enough to cover the medical bills. It seemed she was still short by 100,000.
’She’s about to be my NPC. I can’t be stingy about this.’
Suddenly!
Lin Jiang remembered where he had seen this person before.
After Chen Jingxian’s surgery, he had gone to visit her. Shen Qingqiu’s mother had been in the neighboring bed.
They had met briefly then.
That explained everything.
Pancreatitis is an incredibly difficult disease to treat, and the costs are beyond what most people can afford.
Even though she was a teacher at Jiaoda with a respectable income, it was just a drop in the bucket against such an illness.
Even 300,000 for medical fees might not be enough.
He glanced at his phone. The friend request hadn’t been accepted.
Lin Jiang wasn’t in a hurry. He drove back to the company.
On the way, he received a message from Liang Shuhuo. She said she had already spoken with Pan Shengli.
She confirmed their competence and skill level. If Lin Jiang had no other objections, they would prepare to partner with them on the renovation project.
Lin Jiang had no comment on the matter.
If their skills and abilities were not an issue, there was no reason not to use them.
He drove back to the company, where Yang Tao was waiting for him.
"Brother Jiang, here are the two places I found. One is near Zhonghai Business University, 548 square meters. It’s close to the school and surrounded by residential areas, so the local spending power is quite good. The other is on Fuxing Road, about 521 square meters, with plenty of foot traffic. Both are great options," Yang Tao said.
"But the rent for the shop near Zhonghai Business University is 200,000 more."
"You really know how to pick them. You went straight to my alma mater."
"That’s even better! It’s your turf, so opening a shop there will be more convenient."
"I graduated years ago. I wouldn’t call it my turf anymore. Is it on Spring Rain Road?"
"It is, actually. 89 Spring Rain Road."
Lin Jiang looked up the address on his computer. It was across from the school’s north gate.
Almost every university has a food street nearby, and Zhonghai Business University was no exception.
The area was packed with restaurants of all sizes and surrounded by residential neighborhoods. A shop there would have no shortage of foot traffic.
As long as the food was good, they wouldn’t have to worry about making a profit.
"What was this place before?"
"Funnily enough, it used to be a barbecue buffet. It was open for over a year but went under because business was bad. That’s why I’m leaning toward this one. With some basic renovations, we could be open very quickly."
"This is the one, then. Go talk to them. Once you’ve settled the terms, sign the contract."
"Got it."
With his prior experience, Yang Tao was no longer intimidated by this sort of task and handled it with ease.
After Yang Tao left, a notification popped up on Lin Jiang’s phone. Shen Qingqiu had accepted his friend request.
