Luo Xiaoqian watched as Leng Zirui carried a girl inside. She realized he hadn’t lied to her, and her worry subsided a bit. However, being naturally kind-hearted and learning that his female companion was ill, she instinctively went over to check on the situation.

Luo Ke was also concerned that Xu Xia might say something reckless. Taking two quick steps, he walked over with her, with Leng Zimo following closely behind them to the side of the sofa.

Xu Xia was always impulsive. He worried that she might do something outrageous, so he stood nearby calmly, but ready to act in case of an unexpected situation, not far behind Luo Ke.

Leng Zirui was worried about Xu Xia’s condition on one hand, and concerned that in her impulsiveness, she might do something rash on the other. So he held her tightly, prepared to intervene if needed.

Luo Xiaoqian approached the sofa and looked at Xu Xia’s pale face in Leng Zirui’s arms, frowning with concern, "Doctor, how is she?"

Tormented by stomach pain, Xu Xia was quite uncomfortable at that moment, but upon hearing Luo Xiaoqian’s voice, she still raised her face in surprise to look at her.

She hadn’t expected to see Luo Xiaoqian so soon after hearing Leng Zirui mention she was also in the castle.

"Don’t speak."

Leng Zirui cautiously reminded her in her ear.

Xu Xia pressed her lips together, forcing down a name that was about to slip out.

"Have you experienced similar symptoms before?" The doctor courteously asked Xu Xia about her condition.

Xu Xia withdrew her gaze and responded in turn.

"It seems to be an acute flare-up of chronic gastritis, probably caused by irregular meals or consuming some unsanitary food these past few days. It’s not too serious though, madam doesn’t need to worry." The doctor took a box of medication from the medical kit, "Take one tablet first; if you’re still in pain by evening, take another. Also, eat some easily digestible food after taking the medicine."

The maid promptly poured a glass of warm water, and Leng Zirui brought the pill to Xu Xia’s mouth, followed by the cup to help her swallow it.

Luo Ke stood by, his heart still tense, but since Xu Xia didn’t utter a sound, and Luo Xiaoqian didn’t seem to recognize her, he slightly let out a sigh of relief.

"ROY, take her to a guest room upstairs to rest."

He wasn’t concerned about Xu Xia at all, but having such a ticking time bomb next to Luo Xiaoqian made Luo Ke uneasy.

"Prepare some easily digestible porridge for her," Leng Zirui instructed Leng Zimo, as he carried Xu Xia upstairs in long strides, with the maid hurrying to assist.

Leng Zimo also breathed a sigh of relief, returning to the kitchen to prepare food for Xu Xia.

"Doesn’t she need to go to the hospital?" Luo Xiaoqian turned her face to the doctor.

"It’s alright, she’ll recover with some rest. This superficial gastritis won’t have any immediate effect even if admitted to the hospital; she needs to watch her diet regularly," the doctor explained.

"Alright!" Luo Ke steadied her by holding her shoulder, "Let’s go back and continue our meal."

Luo Xiaoqian glanced towards the stairs, only to see Leng Zirui’s silhouette disappear at the end. Refocusing, she returned to the dining table, but the image of Leng Zirui carrying Xu Xia flashed through her mind again.

She felt as if she’d seen all this before in a haze.

Did she know this girl from somewhere?

Across the table, Luo Ke watched her face intently.

"Sissi?!"

"Ah..." Luo Xiaoqian snapped back to reality, "What is it?"

"Nothing." Luo Ke stood up, "I’ve finished eating, I’m going to check upstairs."
