The mother and daughter followed the two men out of the inspection room, taking several winding corridors.

Hai Xue shook her head, "You claim I’m carrying contraband, but can you point it out? I’ll leave it behind."

The man remained expressionless, "It’s not about leaving it behind now; we need to determine the severity based on the nature of the item. If serious, there could be jail time."

Hearing the possibility of jail, Hai Xue shouted, "You’re lying! I only have daily items and a few apples to eat on the road. I’m not carrying anything that warrants jail. No way, I need to go back and find those nieces and nephews to let the family speak to you."

"There’s no need for all that talk, just follow and stop asking questions!"

Mengyu spoke up, "You’ve brought us here, and at the end of this corridor, we’ll exit the station. There’s no inspection area beyond that. What exactly are you trying to do?"
