After Pampering Her 5 Beast Husbands, the Villainess Struck It Rich
Chapter 224: Young Master of the Tiger Clan
Chapter 224: Chapter 221: Young Master of the Tiger Clan
With the Black Domain’s affairs settled, they planned to return to the Main Star.
Even before their trip to the Black Domain, Hu Yan had planned on taking Bai Zhi to meet the parents. Now that they were heading back, it was the perfect time to get that back on the schedule.
Very few people knew Sang Mo was leaving. After all, for him to depart right after taking the throne could give those with ill intentions a reason to stir up trouble, so his departure wasn’t widely publicized. Only Sa Lei and one or two others close to them knew.
On the day of their departure, those who knew Sang Mo and the others were leaving came to see them off in secret.
Thanks to Sang Mo’s temperament, no one would grow suspicious even if he didn’t appear often. After all, he had never been one for frequent public appearances.
「On the starship.」
Yue Junxiao saw Sang Mo lounging on his soft couch as usual, looking completely unfazed. He asked curiously, “You just took the throne. Don’t you want to experience how awesome it is to rule over so many people? Are you sure it’s okay for you to just leave with us?”
Lang Qiu said coolly, “Why else do you think a nation has so many officials? You just have to give the orders, and they’ll get it done. All you need to do is ensure you get the results you want.”
Sang Mo nodded slightly. “Lang Qiu’s right. If you had to do everything yourself, you’d work yourself to death. Besides, this isn’t my first rodeo. What’s there to experience? And Sa Lei is quite capable. When I saved him back then, I didn’t expect him to be so sharp. For now, he seems to be working out quite well.”
Yue Junxiao asked curiously, “Aren’t you afraid he’ll betray you, too?”
Sang Mo scoffed. “Once was more than enough.”
He then added, “He volunteered to take my poison. He can only survive if I give him the antidote at regular intervals.”
Hearing this, Yue Junxiao was stunned for a moment before saying, “Well, he’s really proven himself then. I can’t believe you managed to find yourself such a great subordinate just by saving him.”
Upon hearing this, Sang Mo let out a rare, smiling hum of agreement.
‘He was realizing it himself; after more than twenty years of terrible luck, things finally seemed to be looking up.’
His gaze fell upon Bai Zhi, who stood a short distance away, eating a glistening, translucent grape.
‘He’d never imagined someone would be willing to love him.’
‘It was a feeling he’d never experienced before, but it wasn’t half bad.’
‘When he was young, he’d believed his very existence was a mistake. That he shouldn’t have been born; then he wouldn’t have had to suffer so much.’
‘Later, he’d decided that the ones who hurt him were the ones who deserved to die, who didn’t deserve to live in this world.’
‘But now… he was discovering that being alive was actually pretty good. He could experience all sorts of different emotions.’
Bai Zhi sensed a gaze upon her and looked up, her eyes meeting Sang Mo’s. She tilted her head in confusion. ‘Aren’t they in the middle of a conversation? Why is he staring at me?’
‘Did I get something on my face?’
Bai Zhi quickly rubbed her cheek with the back of her free hand. It felt clean and smooth. ‘There’s nothing there.’
Seeing her action, the corners of Sang Mo’s lips curled up unconsciously. ‘A little silly,’ he thought, ‘but quite amusing.’
The starship was fast, reaching the Main Star in just a few hours.
During their absence, the robots had kept the house spotless. There was no sign that they had been away for nearly a month.
After such a long flight, the first thing they did upon arriving home was wash up and change their clothes. By the time they came downstairs, the chef had already prepared a meal.
But to their surprise, just as they finished their meal, several strangers appeared outside their door.
The man in the lead asked, “Are you sure this is the place?”
“After extensive investigation, we’ve confirmed this is the residence.”
“But we’ve been staking this place out for half a month, and today was the first time we saw anyone come or go. Judging by the scent, we can confirm it’s them.”
His subordinates replied one after another.
Hearing this, the man in the lead knocked on the door.
Bai Zhi was taking a walk outside, her baby bump prominent. When she heard the knock, she called back into the house, “Jun Xiao, can you guys go see who’s at the door?”
Hearing her, Yue Junxiao and Yan Yichen called back in affirmation. Eager to walk off their meal, they practically ran to get the door.
Seeing the strangers standing outside, they instantly became wary. “Who are you looking for?”
Though Yue Junxiao and Yan Yichen were young, they had already been through a great deal. ‘For strangers to show up right after we get back… there’s no way it’s a coincidence. Someone must have been watching us.’
The Beastman in the lead, who looked to be in his forties or fifties, saw Yue Junxiao’s familiar face and cried out, his eyes welling with tears, “Young Master, it’s really you!”
As he spoke, he moved to bow, and the others immediately followed his lead.
This gave Yue Junxiao a huge fright. He immediately activated his superpower, his pale-yellow eyes fixed on them warily. “Who are you people? I don’t know you. Stop shouting nonsense.”
Yue Junxiao had meant to intimidate them, but to his surprise, the sight of his superpower only made them more excited.
The lead Beastman’s eyes reddened with excitement, and his voice trembled as he spoke. “SS-level!! The Young Master is only twenty, yet he’s already reached SS-level!! The Beast God is truly watching over us!! Our Tiger Clan has finally produced another genius! The master will be overjoyed when he finds out.”
“It really is SS-level! As expected of the Young Master, his talent is incredible.”
The commotion at the entrance caught Bai Zhi’s attention. She was already near the door, and seeing several people outside—plus the fact that Yue Junxiao had unleashed his superpower—told her that these visitors were strangers.
Bai Zhi quickly turned and went back inside to get Hu Yan and the others.
When they arrived, Yue Junxiao and Yan Yichen, who had seemed so tense and ready for a fight just moments before, now both wore complicated expressions.
Yue Junxiao, in particular, looked somewhat dazed.
Bai Zhi stared warily at the tall, powerfully built Beastmen outside and said deliberately, “Jun Xiao, Yi Chen, are you two okay? I’ve brought Hu Yan and the others. Don’t be afraid.”
Hu Yan stared at them for a few seconds before speaking. “What do you want?”
The lead Beastman hurriedly explained, “A misunderstanding! It’s all a misunderstanding! We’re not here to cause trouble. We’re just looking for the Young Master of our Tiger Clan. We’re very sorry for the disturbance.”
Hu Yan seized on the key part of his statement. He frowned, glancing at Yue Junxiao before turning his attention back to the visitors. “The Tiger Clan’s Young Master?”
“Yes. He is the sole Young Master of our Tiger Clan. Our leader has only one son. Years ago, Fierce Tiger City was invaded by enemy forces, and the Young Master was taken by our rivals. We searched for many years and finally got a lead two months ago. By the time we rushed to Blue Star, all traces of the Young Master were gone. Then, we finally received word that he had appeared on the Federal Main Star. We arrived half a month ago and have been watching this place ever since, but with no luck. We were just about to think we’d come up empty again when my men said they’d found the Young Master. That’s why we took the liberty of knocking, in the hopes that we could finally find him.”
