After Pampering Her 5 Beast Husbands, the Villainess Struck It Rich
Chapter 215: Five Million Is Just a Small Sum
Chapter 215: Chapter 212: Five Million Is Just a Small Sum
Hearing this, the others all turned to look at Sang Mo.
Hu Yan glanced at Sang Mo, then said thoughtfully, “The Black Domain has more leaders than just them. With those two dead, someone else will take care of things. For now, let’s find a place to rest. The hotel was probably blown up, so we don’t have anywhere to stay tonight.”
Yan Yichen breathed a small sigh of relief at Hu Yan’s words. Although Sang Mo was a cold and distant person who didn’t seem easy to get along with, he had grown used to being around him after all this time. It would feel strange if one of them were suddenly gone.
Sang Mo began to ponder as well. ‘I have no intention of staying behind to take over.’ The only reason he had returned in the first place was because Bai Zhi had mentioned wanting to visit, and he’d used the opportunity to get his revenge.
‘Now that the people who nearly killed me back then are all dead, it all feels rather meaningless.’
Since Hu Yan suggested they first find a place to stay, no one else had any objections.
This entire area had been blown up. The people who were in the hotel just now probably hadn’t managed to escape, even if they ran for it.
Meanwhile, Moerde and his group on the other side had fared much worse. Although Diller had yelled for them to run in time, they couldn’t outrun the speed of Hades’s self-detonation. Countless people were caught in the blast wave and torn to shreds.
Since Diller was carrying Tina, they were the first to escape the blast zone, followed by Silver Moon and Moerde.
Many of the men Moerde had brought with him were blown to bits, unable to get out in time. Only the four of them made it.
Moerde stood panting, his hands on his knees. He had been running for his life just now. If Silver Moon hadn’t pulled him back at the last second, he feared he would have been caught in the blast as well.
Moerde glanced back at the swirling clouds of ash, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and felt his heart hammering in his chest.
‘That was too close. A split second more and I would have been just like the others.’
He could feel his legs trembling. He’d never imagined that Hades was prepared to take them all down with him. ‘No wonder Hades wasn’t the least bit afraid.’
Diller set Tina down, and she immediately ran to Moerde, asking with concern, “Father, are you all right?”
Moerde propped himself up and waved a hand. “I’m fine. Just winded from running so hard. Thankfully, Silver Moon pulled me back, or I’m afraid I would’ve been done for right there.”
Remembering that Silver Moon seemed to have been struck by Gu poison, Moerde quickly shifted his gaze to Silver Moon’s arm and asked, “Silver Moon, how is your arm?”
Silver Moon’s entire arm had turned a blackish-purple, and the discoloration was gradually spreading toward his torso.
From the strenuous exertion and using his superpower, Silver Moon was in very bad shape. Only then did Tina notice how pale his face was, as if he were enduring immense pain.
Then, her eyes widened in horror as her gaze fell upon his arm. “Silver Moon, your arm…”
Moerde said grimly, “Diller, contact a Healer and explain the situation clearly. If we delay treating this arm any longer, I’m afraid the damage will be permanent.”
‘He’s my hand-picked future son-in-law, after all. I can’t let anything happen to him!’
‘Especially since Silver Moon only got hurt because he came to help my daughter get her revenge. If something were to really happen to him, not only would the marriage alliance be off, but his family would surely hold a grudge against us.’
Diller responded, “Understood.”
Silver Moon was unaware of Moerde’s concerns. Hearing their conversation, he followed their gaze to his arm. It looked terrifying. Even though he had tried to deal with it immediately, the poison was still spreading.
Silver Moon’s already pale face now had a bluish tint. He moved his arm and then wiggled his fingers. They were clearly not as nimble as before, having grown somewhat stiff. He frowned, concealing the displeasure in his eyes. “It’s not as flexible as it used to be, but it shouldn’t be a major issue.”
He hadn’t seen the people killed by the Poisonous Insect earlier, so he assumed this was just a minor issue that a Healer could easily fix, failing to realize the gravity of the situation.
After all, in a world with such rapidly advancing healing technology, even severed limbs could be reattached without any lasting effects—as long as you were quick, had all the pieces, and enough money.
From Silver Moon’s perspective, his arm had just changed color a little. It wasn’t like an arm or a leg had been chopped off. It was hardly a major problem.
Silver Moon scoffed. “I just didn’t expect that Beastman to be so unhinged. To think he was a leader of the Black Domain… self-detonating after a couple of hits. Absolutely pathetic.”
He was referring to the recent series of attacks from Sang Mo’s group, but he had only heard rumors about the power struggle between the old and new leaders of the Black Domain and didn’t know the details. Furthermore, as he intended to bond with Tina, he naturally despised Hades—who had once nearly become Tina’s Beast Husband—and took every chance he got to mock him.
Moerde’s expression darkened at the mention of Hades. “I also never expected he’d try to take us all down with him.”
‘No wonder Hades was so calm,’ he thought. ‘He was prepared to die from the start. His initial plan was probably just to take Sang Mo with him; he never expected us to get caught in the crossfire.’
Moerde said, “Hades is already dead, so there’s no way to settle the score with him now. Let’s get to the Healer first. Your arm is more important.”
Just then, Diller, who had been contacting the Healer, put away his Light Computer and turned to them. “I’ve made contact with the Healer. It’s an S-Class Healer, and a Treatment Pod is ready. We can begin treatment as soon as we arrive.”
Hearing this, Moerde said, “Our vehicle must have been destroyed in the blast. I’ll call for another one.”
Silver Moon glanced at the Starship still hovering in the air. “Let’s take my Starship. It should be unaffected.”
It was a small Starship, meant for short trips, and it looked quite conspicuous hanging in the sky.
He then had a ladder lowered, and the group quickly climbed aboard.
Even for a small Starship, the speed was incredible, and it wasn’t long before they arrived at the Healer’s facility.
Because everything had been prepared in advance, there were no unnecessary pleasantries when they arrived. The Healer got straight to work and began examining Silver Moon.
After a few minutes, beads of sweat had formed on the Healer’s forehead. “There’s something inside your arm,” he said. “It’s alive. The moment my superpower enters, it hides. And if I even think about controlling it by force, it starts burrowing toward your heart, getting close to the bone. I was afraid of provoking it, so I haven’t dared to make a move.”
Moerde’s face darkened. “I don’t care what method you use, you have to find a way to get it out! Star Coins are not an issue. As long as you can heal his arm, I’ll give you five million Star Coins!”
‘If that Poisonous Insect isn’t removed from his arm, it will be crippled. A crippled Young Master… at that point, he’d likely have to give up his title, and it would be impossible for him to inherit the leadership position.’
‘Tina would marry him and gain nothing, and she would still have to rely on us for support. The losses would far outweigh the gains.’
‘It wasn’t that he wanted to be so pragmatic, but if he didn’t constantly plan for the family’s future, they would have fallen into decline long ago. Their current standing was built entirely on his meticulous scheming.’
‘Besides, Tina, with her pampered upbringing, wouldn’t be able to handle such a life, and he couldn’t bear to watch her suffer.’
‘Therefore, Silver Moon’s arm had to be saved. Only by saving his arm could he secure everything else.’
‘Compared to all that, five million Star Coins was a trivial amount!!’
