Chapter 260: Chapter 260 [R18]

Liuxian’s voice carried a low, promising edge as the car pulled into the driveway, headlights sweeping briefly across the front of the house before he cut the engine.

Guiying’s pulse hadn’t slowed since he’d said it the first time, and hearing it again did nothing to help.

Liuxian rounded the car and opened his door, offering a hand to help him out, though the moment Guiying’s feet touched the ground, he found himself swept up entirely instead, one arm braced beneath his knees, the other supporting his back.

"Liuxian!" Guiying’s laugh came out startled, gold bar clutched safely against his chest as he wrapped an arm around his neck for balance. "I can walk, you know."

"I know." Liuxian carried him toward the front door without breaking stride, something wolfish tugging at the corner of his mouth. "I just don’t want you to."

The door opened before either of them reached it, Wang Chengli stepping aside with practiced ease, not so much as blinking at the sight of Guiying carried through the entryway like something precious.

"Welcome home," Wang Chengli inclined his head. "Would either of you like anything before you turn in? Tea, a late snack, perhaps?"

"We’ll be just fine." Liuxian’s tone left no room for further offers, already moving toward the staircase. "Thank you, Uncle Wang."

Wang Chengli’s mouth twitched faintly at the corner, clearly reading the entire situation with ease, perhaps tonight the young master and his spouse would finally conceive a child.

Nothing would give more joy than seeing the young man grow his family.

"Goodnight, then." He bowed his head once more before disappearing toward the kitchen, leaving them to the quiet of the stairwell.

Liuxian carried him up the first few steps before Guiying finally squirmed enough that he set him down, though he kept an arm curled firmly around his waist, refusing to let more than a few inches of space exist between them.

"Careful." Guiying steadied the gold bar against his hip. "I don’t want to drop your mother’s gift on the stairs."

"I’ll buy her another one if you do." Liuxian’s voice dropped lower, lips brushing the shell of his ear. "Right now I’m having a difficult time caring about anything except getting you upstairs."

A shiver worked its way down Guiying’s spine at that, warmth pooling low in his stomach as they climbed the remaining steps together, Liuxian’s hand splayed possessively against the small of his back the entire way.

At the top of the landing, Liuxian paused just long enough to take the gold bar from his hands, setting it carefully on a nearby side table before turning his full attention back to Guiying.

"There," His eyes darkened, gaze sweeping slowly over him. "Now your hands are free."

Guiying’s breath caught, heart hammering as Liuxian backed him gently against the wall just outside their bedroom door, one hand braced beside his head, the other tilting his chin up.

"I’ve been thinking about this since the car." Liuxian’s voice came rough, low enough that it vibrated through Guiying’s chest. "Since you told me you weren’t afraid of anything anymore."

"Liuxian," Guiying’s hands found the front of his shirt, fisting into the fabric, pulling him closer instead of pushing him away.

"Say my name like that again." His mouth hovered just above Guiying’s, close enough to feel his breath, not quite touching yet. "I want to hear exactly how it sounds when I finally have you the way I want you tonight."

Guiying’s eyes fluttered shut, anticipation curling tight through every nerve in his body, the door to their bedroom waiting just behind them, patient for only a few seconds longer before neither of them could stand the distance at all.

The hallway wall was cool against Guiying’s back, a sharp contrast to the heat rolling off Liuxian’s body as he pressed closer, finally closing the distance between their mouths.

Liuxian kissed him the way he did everything else—with absolute, unwavering intent.

His lips moved against Guiying’s slowly at first, a deliberate exploration that had Guiying’s fingers twisting tighter into the fabric of his shirt. The taste of him was familiar and still somehow new, the faint trace of the wine from dinner lingering beneath something deeper, something that was just Liuxian.

A soft sound escaped Guiying’s throat, swallowed immediately by Liuxian’s mouth as the kiss deepened.

The hand braced beside his head moved to cup his jaw, thumb stroking along his cheekbone while Liuxian angled his head, taking the kiss from tender to consuming in the span of a heartbeat.

His tongue swept across Guiying’s lower lip, asking, and Guiying parted for him without hesitation.

"Mm." The sound vibrated between them, and Guiying wasn’t sure which of them had made it.

Liuxian’s other hand slid from his waist to the small of his back, pressing their bodies flush together.

The evidence of his arousal was unmistakable through the layers of their clothing, and Guiying rocked his hips forward instinctively, seeking friction.

"So eager," Liuxian pulled back just enough to speak, his voice scraped raw. His eyes were nearly black in the dim hallway light, pupils blown wide. "We haven’t even made it through the door yet."

"Then stop keeping me in the hallway." Guiying’s own voice came out breathier than he intended, his chest rising and falling in quick succession.

That wolfish smile flickered across Liuxian’s face again before he reached behind Guiying, found the bedroom door handle, and pushed it open.

They stumbled through together, a tangle of reaching hands and seeking mouths, and Guiying registered the familiar scent of the bedroom, the sandalwood candle Liuxian preferred, the clean linen of fresh sheets before Liuxian was walking him backward toward the bed.

"Wait," Guiying pressed a hand against his chest, stopping him. "Let me take off your shirt."

Liuxian stilled immediately, though the tension in his shoulders spoke of the effort it cost him. He stood patiently as Guiying’s fingers found the top button of his shirt, working it open with deliberate slowness.

One button, then two and three.

Guiying pushed the fabric aside, revealing the expanse of Liuxian’s chest, the defined planes of muscle, the scattering of faint freckles across his collarbone that only showed in certain light, the way his skin warmed under Guiying’s fingertips as he traced downward.

"You’re so sexy," The words fell from Guiying’s lips without permission. "I don’t say it enough."

Something flickered in Liuxian’s expression, a crack in that controlled exterior. He caught Guiying’s wrist, lifted his hand to his mouth, and pressed a kiss to the center of his palm.

"Neither do I," His lips moved against Guiying’s skin. "Let me show you instead."
