After My Rebirth, My Husband Pampers Me Everyday!
Chapter 250: HE DIDN’T TOUCH YOU RIGHT?
Liuxian checked his watch for the third time in as many minutes, already halfway into his jacket by the time he reached the top of the stairs.
"I’m going to be late." He pressed a quick kiss to Guiying’s temple, keys already in hand. "What’s on your schedule today?"
"Limo needs me at Yang Entertainment." Guiying glanced up from his phone. "Not sure what for yet, he wouldn’t say over text."
"Let me know if it’s anything serious." Liuxian’s brow furrowed briefly before he checked his watch again, already moving toward the stairs. "I really do have to go."
"Go, go." Guiying gave him a light push toward the door, laughing under his breath at how flustered he’d suddenly become. "You’re the one who’s actually got somewhere to be this morning."
Liuxian was out the door before he’d even finished the sentence, the sound of the car pulling away from the estate barely audible through the walls.
Left alone, Guiying moved at his own pace, settling at the kitchen table with his laptop to finish the Yuèxin decline email properly before anything else claimed his attention. Wording it carefully took a bit of time, balancing honesty about the biological concerns Liuxian had raised against professionalism, unwilling to burn a bridge entirely in case the science eventually changed.
Satisfied with the final version, he hit send, closing the laptop with a small sense of relief.
Haiyan was already waiting by the car when Guiying stepped outside a while later, holding the door open with a small nod.
"Yang Entertainment." Guiying slid into the back seat, giving him the address before he could ask.
"Right away." Haiyan pulled smoothly into traffic, saying nothing further.
The drive passed quickly, city streets giving way to the glass-fronted building housing Yang Entertainment’s headquarters, the company sign gleaming under the mid-morning sun.
Guiying stepped out the moment the car stopped, moving toward the entrance, waved through security by a receptionist who recognized him on sight.
Near the elevators, Limo paced back and forth, phone gripped tight in one hand, clearly having been waiting there for some time.
"You came." Relief washed visibly over his face the moment he spotted Guiying.
"Of course I came." Guiying studied him carefully, noting the tension still lingering in his shoulders, the exhaustion shadowed under his eyes. "What’s going on? You’ve had me worried since your first text."
Limo glanced around the lobby, then gestured toward a private meeting room off to the side, waiting until the door clicked shut behind them before speaking.
"It’s about Kong Siying." His voice dropped low, urgent. "I found him last night. Or he found me, technically. Called me out of nowhere."
Guiying’s brow furrowed. "Who?"
The name sounded familiar.
"Someone from my past. It’s complicated." Limo dragged a hand through his hair, clearly still processing everything himself. "He’s been through something horrific, Guiying. I need your help figuring out what to do next, and I trust you more than almost anyone else with something like this."
Something cold settled in Guiying’s chest at the mention of that name, old memories stirring despite the new life he’d built since.
"Tell me everything." He sank into the couch, sitting down across from Limo, matching the same steady resolve Limo had needed the night before, though Limo didn’t yet know that particular parallel existed between them. "Start from the beginning."
Limo rubbed his hands together, thinking of how to tell Guiying without looking crazy.
"So, my dad’s ex Kong Siying—"
Guiying’s eyes widened, did he just say Kong Siying? He recognized that name now, from the file Liuxian showed him but wasn’t Kong Siying was marked deceased? Was it a ruse?
He smelt foul play.
"You look shocked, do you know who it is?"
Guiying nodded, he leaned back on the couch.
The string was getting more tangled by the minute, now Limo was also involved.
"Yes, though his official records say he’s deceased. He’s a victim of Shen Zihao. My husband and I are working together to bring him down."
Limo brows narrowed, how did Guiying know about this? Unless
His body moved before his mouth could, rushing to Guiying’s side. "He, that bastard didn’t do anything to you right?" His hands gently pressed against Guiying’s face, the worry in his eyes evident.
"He didn’t touch you right?"
Guiying patted his hands, pulling them away from his face. "I’m fine. He didn’t touch me."
Limo exhaled hard, some of the frantic worry easing out of his shoulders, though he didn’t fully relax his grip on Guiying’s hands right away.
"Sorry." He finally let go, dragging both hands back through his hair instead. "I panicked. Given everything I saw last night, I couldn’t help but assume the worst."
"I understand." Guiying’s voice softened, recognizing the fear underneath the reaction. "But no, Shen Zihao’s never gotten close enough to touch me. I’ve made sure of that, and I intend to keep it that way."
Limo studied him for a moment, something curious crossing his face at how certain that sounded, though he let it go, more pressing matters waiting between them.
"Your husband’s men have him secured. That’s the good news." Limo pulled himself back into focus. "But he needs more than protection, Guiying. He needs someone who can actually build a case out of everything he knows."
"Then we’ll need Bai Feng." Guiying said the name without hesitation. "He’s the best lawyer I know for something like this. The ORF has taken down families far more powerful than the Shens before. Plus they won’t be able to buy or threaten him.."
"Can you get him?" Something hopeful cut through the exhaustion on Limo’s face for the first time since Guiying had walked in.
"I’ll call him today." Guiying pulled out his phone, already scrolling toward the contact. "And my husband needs to hear all of this properly, at least the version I know of. I’m sure his men have already handed him a detailed report. He’s been building a case against Shen Zihao for a while now. This could be exactly what pushes it over the edge."
