Chester Pearson’s words left Philip Morgan momentarily speechless.

“Fine, then let’s wait and see. I’d like to see what kind of counterattack Captain Jacobs is talking about,” Philip Morgan said.

As if responding to his words, the superpower duel on the field suddenly changed.

The crushed ice scattered across the ground floated into the air, transforming into thick Ice Spikes. A white, freezing mist slowly enveloped half the arena.

Gold Element spears pierced through the cold mist, striking straight at the Ice Spikes. However, a shocking scene unfolded before everyone’s eyes.

The hundreds of Gold Element spears suddenly snapped in mid-air as they passed through the white mist!

Evander frowned, but he quickly used his superpower to repair the spears.

But the moment the Gold Element spears clashed with the Ice Spikes, the spears were shattered into iron shavings!

“What’s going on?” Philip Morgan asked in shock.

“His Ice Element isn’t just solidifying the Water Element; he’s manipulating the temperature. Under the absolute zero frost, the metal’s toughness weakens, so it’s naturally crushed,” Nina Jacobs explained. The white mist seemed designed to obscure vision, but it actually harbored a lethal strike. “If used in actual zombie combat tactics, this freezing mist wouldn’t just slow them down and control the field, buying time for teammates to attack, but it would also weaken the zombies’ offensive power.”

Nina had always appreciated capable Superpower Users. There seemed to be only a few types of superpowers, but truly talented Superpower Users could produce a myriad of different effects with a single superpower.

Her words gave Myra Lawson quite a bit of inspiration. Despite also possessing the Ice Element, her comprehension wasn’t as good as Julian Wells’.

“You’re right. Actual combat is the ultimate goal, and this Ice Element’s crowd-control ability is indeed quite good,” Adrian Paige agreed.

Nina smiled upon hearing this. “He should have other moves up his sleeve.”

The precise temperature control and layout over the past hour allowed the Ice Element to completely dominate the entire arena. Nina was right. Countless slender ice chains suddenly erupted from the ice layer in all directions. The towering Gold Element shield wall was tightly entangled and, in mere moments, punctured into a honeycomb by the chains.

The entire arena had seemingly transformed into a domain of ice. From then on, no matter what moves Evander launched, they were shattered within seconds.

“This kid named Wells was hiding his strength before, wasn’t he?” Isaac Leopold said. He remembered that in the previous matches, Julian’s performance hadn’t been particularly outstanding. That was why he had made that initial deduction.

“Being weak against the weak and strong against the strong is also a type of tactic,” Nina replied.

The result of the match went without saying. Julian won the selection match with a vote of four to one.

Myra Lawson, Adrian Paige, Isaac Leopold, and Chester Pearson all voted for the Ice Element user, Julian. Evander’s single vote came from Philip Morgan.

Only then did everyone realize that the new judge, Nina Jacobs, hadn’t directly participated in the voting. Instead, she participated by giving scores and providing feedback. Taking the first group as an example, Nina gave Julian a score of 80 and Evander a 70. Her commentary consisted of just a few brief sentences, but her words were sharp and incisive.

“Eighty points. To think I’m not perfect in the teacher’s eyes, it truly breaks my heart,” Julian said in an exaggerated, joking tone.

Compared to the votes, he seemed to care more about the score Nina had given him. However, after seeing those few lines of commentary, he fell silent for a long time. She could actually see his shortcomings.

“These comments are quite interesting. They’re not biased toward anyone,” Sylvia Shawn said.

Although Evander had lost, he was completely convinced of his defeat. Upon seeing Nina’s comments, an expression of sudden realization appeared on his face.

“So that’s it. There are so many ways to break the freezing mist, yet I didn’t think of a single one at the time…” Evander muttered.

Distance, speed, and form could all be used to resist the freezing mist. Although Nina noted that his pacing was fast and his fundamentals were solid, those two sentences of advice were the most pertinent.

“Are you at ease now? She’s not participating in the voting,” Caleb Carter spoke up. He had previously worried that Nina would make enemies because of this, but it seemed he had overthought things.

“Even so, being judged and scored by a peer is a bit… you know, right, Michael?” Marcus Palmer said.

Michael Miller didn’t say anything. Although Nina wasn’t participating in the final voting, her opinions were definitely influencing the other judges.

“You? You think you’re worthy of calling yourself the senior’s peer?” Sylvia mocked in an amused tone as she walked past Marcus.

Marcus wasn’t angry. He chuckled and asked, “Miss Shawn, with this defensive tone of yours at every turn, could it be that she saved your life in the past?”

Sylvia’s figure paused for a moment before she continued walking toward the arena. Nina Jacobs really had saved her life. But she probably didn’t remember it anymore…

The next match featured the Dual Element Superpower User, Sylvia Shawn, and her opponent was the Earth Element user, Marcus Palmer.

Nina was quite interested in Sylvia’s profile because Sylvia was a Dual Element Superpower User with both the Thunder Element and Healing Element Superpowers. Both superpowers required massive energy consumption, yet the Sylvia on the field was a slender, cute girl with twin tails.

“Bring it on!” Sylvia said to Marcus opposite her.

“Don’t rush, I’ll let you lose slowly this time,” Marcus said, completely unbothered.

In a Thunder Element versus Earth Element matchup, if the Superpower Users were to fight directly, the Earth Element would naturally be at a disadvantage. But in a pure clash of superpowers, he believed the Thunder Element was completely helpless against the Earth Element.

“I said I won’t lose to you.” Sylvia had already condensed streaks of Thunder Serpents.

Marcus laughed and simply raised a thick earth wall to block her head-on.

“It’s a pity. Although she’s a Dual Element user, the Healing Element Superpower is completely useless in a match,” Chester Pearson said.

The rest of the match would be a test of whose superpower could last longer. The consumption rate of the Thunder Element Superpower was much greater than that of the Earth Element Superpower. Oddly enough, though, Sylvia didn’t look like she was holding back her strength at all right from the start.

“She won her previous matches brilliantly,” Myra Lawson remarked.

The match groupings this time had been decided by her. The reason she assigned an Earth Element opponent to Sylvia was to see her adaptability.

Adaptability? Nina didn’t say a word after hearing this.

Myra’s groupings were indeed confusing; to Nina, it felt more like a test. It seemed Myra didn’t think Sylvia could win. The reason wasn’t hard to imagine. As the helmsman of a base, she always had a lot of considerations. Even if Sylvia didn’t win this match, Myra had probably already arranged a place for her.

However, the match on the field didn’t unfold the way Myra had anticipated. Nina’s lips curled up. Sure enough, this Sylvia Shawn was not a simple character.

“How could the Thunder Element be that color?” Isaac Leopold asked, his eyes wide.

For a moment, the lightning in the arena actually flickered with a blue and white glow.

“Yeah, white lightning?” Myra had never seen it before, either, even though Sylvia had already fought in previous matches.

“Because of the Healing Element,” Nina answered.

“Healing?” Myra asked, puzzled.

Nina nodded and shared her understanding, “The core of the Healing Element is restoration, regeneration, and buffing. She applied these effects to her own superpower.”

The blue-white lightning was the combination of the Thunder Element and Healing Element Superpowers. It was no wonder Sylvia hadn’t held back her superpower from the beginning; her Healing Element Superpower could maximize the Attack Power of her Thunder Element Superpower. It was a form of superpower amplification.

“So that’s how it is…” Myra realized.

The Healing Element Superpower had always been used to treat wounds, which was why people assumed its targets could only be human. Yet, Sylvia had carved out a completely new path.
