He Lian paused, looking a bit confused, before saying, “Little male! Stop playing dumb!”

He Lian seemed to be falling for it. “Then why were you running?”

Realizing this Bird Beastman was a bona fide birdbrain, Nan Zishi bluffed, “Everyone in the mining area was running. Of course I was going to run, too.”

He Lian stared blankly. “Huh?”

“I said! Everyone in the mining area is running, so of course I’m going to run too!”

‘What is with this Bird Beastman? Talking to him is exhausting!’
