Chapter 157 - 154: Warmth

The Xuan Snake Beastman grew anxious.

"My female!"

"Don’t even think about arguing," Nan Zishi cut him off. "I’ve forgiven you for a lot of things, but abandoning the cubs... we were both at fault. We’ll bear the blame together."

His guilt confirmed, Xuan Jin temporarily gave up resisting.

Chi Xiao snickered from the sidelines.

Xuan Jin shot him a cold glare.

Nan Zishi finished treating Wolf Ye’s last wound.

Wolf Ye’s cheeks flushed slightly.

’Even though my brother told me Xiao Nan was in the mining area, and we’ve already been reunited, but...’

Nan Zishi gathered the little deer cub into her arms. "Little Deer, you’re tired. Why don’t I help you get to sleep?"

"Mhm." Lu Ming subconsciously nuzzled into her embrace.

In his last moments of wakefulness, the little cub thought, ’Daddy, did you know? I helped Mommy today. I even heard her praise me. Her embrace is so, so warm...’

The sound of Lu Ming’s gentle breathing came from Nan Zishi’s embrace; the little cub had fallen fast asleep.

Lang Xian and Wolf Mu had also had a long day, and seeing Lu Ming asleep, they too started to feel drowsy.

Nan Zishi smiled and asked, "Are Little Xian and Little Mu getting sleepy? Do you want to come over?"

The little chubby wolf’s eyes lit up, and he happily trotted over. "Mommy, can I sleep next to you?"

The chubby Little Wolf Mu gave his father a little shove, found a small corner on the large stone bed to lie down in, and closed his eyes, pressing close to Nan Zishi.

Lang Xian was hesitant, but he still slowly made his way over.

Nan Zishi reached out, stroked his head, and smiled. "You should sleep too."

"Mhm." He agreed with exceptional speed, as if afraid she might change her mind. Then the little one found a small spot on the large stone bed and fell asleep pressed against Nan Zishi.

Hu Bai, Chi Xiao, Xuan Jin, Wolf Day, and Wolf Ye watched in silent, mutual understanding as Nan Zishi lulled all the cubs to sleep.

Such a female master, such a family... it was an unexpectedly harmonious, warm, and happy scene.

After all three cubs were asleep, Wolf Day helped Wolf Ye slowly move off the bed and sit on the floor.

Nan Zishi laid the three sleeping cubs side-by-side on the stone bed, covering them with a Beast Skin blanket.

She kissed each of the three adorable cubs on the cheek.

Then, Nan Zishi joined the five males in another corner of the cave to continue their discussion.

The fire still crackled beside them.

The five males were each sitting in different spots.

Nan Zishi looked them over, one by one.

’They were all so easy on the eyes. Every single one was handsome!’

"Wolf Day, Wolf Night, you said you came to the mining area because you heard there was a girl with black hair and black eyes. Have you found her?"

The Silver Wolf Brothers looked at each other and nodded. "We’ve seen her."

Wolf Ye said, "There’s a female with black hair and black eyes hiding in the mining area. Her name is Li Yun. Actually, it was Li Yun who told us some of the secrets here."

"Li Yun... is she still alive?" Nan Zishi shot to her feet. "Where is she?"

’System 006’s host... a girl from Earth, just like me... Uncle Xiang from Stone Village’s female master... She’s actually still alive!’

Nan Zishi was already desperate to meet her.

Wolf Day asked, "Female Master, you want to see her?"

"Yes, I want to meet her."

Wolf Day and Wolf Ye exchanged a glance. Wolf Day then said to Nan Zishi, "Alright, we’ll arrange it."

Xuan Jin looked toward Chi Xiao and Hu Bai.

Hu Bai sighed. "Chi Xiao and I will leave shortly."

Nan Zishi asked worriedly, "Won’t you be discovered coming and going from the mining area?"

Chi Xiao puffed out his chest and declared, "I’m incredibly fast. WHOOSH, and I’m in. WHOOSH, and I’m out. Unless those Beast Kings are staring right at this spot, they’ll never notice me coming or going."

Wolf Day said, "Chi Xiao, Hu Bai, could you please take Lang Xian and Wolf Mu out with you? They’re not cubs from the mining area, so if they’re discovered, we won’t be able to explain it."

Chi Xiao slapped his chest. "They’re family cubs, so I’ll treat them as my own. Don’t worry, you can count on me."

"Thank you," Wolf Day said sincerely.

Chi Xiao replied, "We’re family. No need for thanks."

Nan Zishi stepped forward and hugged Hu Bai.

Chi Xiao wanted a hug too. After standing there for a while and realizing Nan Zishi wasn’t going to offer one, he decided to ask for it himself. "Little Female Master, what about me? I want a hug too."

Realizing her oversight, Nan Zishi couldn’t help but let out a soft chuckle before stepping forward to hug Chi Xiao as well.

Her small frame was dwarfed as she hugged the towering Chi Xiao.

Chi Xiao, who had been waiting for this all day, was finally content.

Hu Bai carefully held Lang Xian and Wolf Mu. Chi Xiao shifted into his beast form, and Hu Bai settled onto his back with the two cubs.

Hu Bai called out, "Female Master, if anything happens, you have to call for us!"

Nan Zishi said, "I’ll fire a signal flare! You’ve seen them before. If I fire a flare, come into the mining area."

"Okay," Hu Bai agreed.

The White Fox Beastman’s eyes filled with a deep reluctance to leave. "You must be careful. We’ll be right outside the mining area. Xuan Jin, take good care of our female master."

Xuan Jin lowered his hand. "Do you even need to tell me that?"

Hu Bai took that as an answer and gave Nan Zishi one last look.

Xuan Jin opened the cave entrance, and Chi Xiao shot out like a red arrow, vanishing in the blink of an eye.

Xuan Jin turned back into the cave with satisfaction, ready to have his female all to himself, only to see two other nuisances still inside.

His expression darkened.

And just as he’d feared, Nan Zishi looked up at him and said, "Xuan Jin, I want to chat with Wolf Day and Wolf Night for a bit."

Xuan Jin asked in astonishment, "You’re into that? You like having two Beast Husbands at once?"

"Huh? What are you talking about?"

When the innocent Nan Zishi finally understood his meaning, her face turned beet red.
