After I Died, the Scumbag Went Mad
Chapter 300 - 299: Asher and I, Our Lives on the Line
Chapter 300: Chapter 299: Asher and I, Our Lives on the Line
Asher looked at Killian Lancaster and said, very seriously, "It might be your dad."
Killian Lancaster didn’t react for a moment. "Impossible. My dad doesn’t have the brains or the ability."
If Master Lancaster had that kind of skill, there’s no way he would have failed to get his hands on the Lancaster Group by now. He even let Hayden Lancaster sell it off.
’I kind of wanted to laugh, but I held it in and said nothing.’
Killian Lancaster glanced down the empty hallway and walked ahead.
"How did you deal with all those people?" I asked Ace curiously.
Ace looked at me sideways. "Prey."
’The best hunters appear as prey.’
’She’s beautiful, so those men would definitely get ideas. The moment they do, they’re at their most vulnerable, making them easy to take down one by one.’
’So, Ace dealt with all of them.’
"Don’t learn from her." Asher shot me a warning look and covered my ears, afraid I’d pick up bad habits.
’I felt a little helpless. I’d actually used that trick before myself. I’d slashed the guy, and Asher had even broken his hand.’
Ace gave me a venomous look, as if to say, ’Why don’t you just disappear?’
’Right. Clones all hate each other, each one wanting to be the one and only.’
"The VIP dining area is open. You can use your room key to go eat now." Killian Lancaster smiled. "Bro, where’s your room key?"
Asher ignored Killian Lancaster, taking my hand and heading toward the accommodation floors.
"Careful." Ace, walking ahead, heard a noise up front.
She stopped, looking at the empty corridor. The smell of blood was enough to make my skin crawl.
My breath caught. I stared at the sliver of light in the hallway... Zeke Shaw’s door was open! "Zeke and the others!"
My heart sank, and I lost control, running toward the room.
"Cece." Asher grabbed my wrist, afraid there was still danger inside.
He shielded me as he rushed in. His expression turned grim as he saw the messy room.
"Well, well, this door was forced open. Looks like... someone on this ship of ours knows how to pick these kinds of locks," Killian Lancaster said, leaning against the doorframe and gloating.
"Lucas Grant and the others should have all been here, how could something have happened..." I calmed down, looking around nervously. The room was a mess, but there were no signs of a fight. It looked like it had been searched.
I knocked on Lucas Grant’s door and only heard muffled whimpering. It was Simon, the murderer Lucas had tied up, but Lucas and Felix Foster weren’t there.
"Maybe they went to eat," Ace said flatly.
Asher nodded. "They probably weren’t in the room when the door was broken down."
I let out a sigh of relief.
Ace shot me a disdainful look, mocking me. "You can’t even figure out something so simple. So stupid."
I frowned and scoffed. "What would a being with no emotions like you know?"
’Everyone I care about was in that room, including my and Asher’s two children... Of course I was going to be scared.’
"Emotions? Emotions will be your weakness, Silvia Lynch." Ace walked up beside me and whispered in my ear. "You’d better be careful. Soon... I’ll replace you in every way."
’She wants to replace me.’
’Heh...’
’And take everything that’s mine.’
"Fine, I’ll be waiting." I flipped Ace the bird.
Ace frowned, but she didn’t seem angry, just giving a dismissive laugh.
We got into the elevator and went up to the VIP dining area.
A staff member was checking room keys.
Killian Lancaster turned back, a punchable grin on his face. "What to do? I only have one room key."
"Ever hear of respecting your elders? The room key, of course, goes to your big brother and sister-in-law first." I smiled at him, flashed the key in my hand, and gave it to the staff member.
The staff member glanced at it and let Asher and me in.
Killian Lancaster instinctively patted his pocket, and his face darkened. "When did you steal that from me?"
"Right when the genius next to you was doubting my intelligence." I shot a retaliatory smile at Ace and led Asher into the dining area.
"Mommy!" Just as I was about to look for Zeke Shaw and Madeline Quinn, Adrian Lancaster and Stella came running over.
The two little ones threw themselves into my arms.
’These two... when they aren’t showing their true colors, they’re so incredibly soft and adorable. Anyone who passes by can’t help but praise how cute they are.’
’But I know that behind their cuteness lies an uncontrollable terror.’
THUD! Suddenly, the cruise ship was hit again, lurching violently.
I instinctively pulled both children into my arms, and Asher wrapped his arms around the three of us.
"Hand over the list of people we want, or we’ll sink the ship," a voice yelled from the ships following closely outside.
They wanted The Resistance to send out the people they needed.
"Are they here to save us?" Some people ran to the windows, shouting for help at the ships. "Help! Save us! Get us out of here!"
’They’re so naive. To The Genetics Organization, even the rich have a pecking order.’
’A major sponsor like the Astraeus Group is the one they’d prioritize rescuing.’
’They wouldn’t easily give up on a golden goose who can throw a few hundred million at their organization in one go.’
’And The Resistance was counting on that.’
"There’s not much time left for everyone. Anyone who wants to leave this cruise ship and live had better hurry up, find the president of the Astraeus Group, and complete our game." The voice from the broadcast came again.
’This was the perfect catalyst. The ships outside looked like rescue vessels, and the broadcast’s announcement...’
’This would drive everyone even crazier.’
"Eat, drink, and conserve your energy. Quickly." Asher had a bad feeling and told everyone to eat as fast as they could.
Felix Foster immediately grabbed a large lobster and took several big bites.
Lucas Grant gave Felix Foster a disgusted look.
Zeke Shaw was smarter; he grabbed some high-calorie food and put it in Madeline Quinn’s lap.
Madeline Quinn, sitting in her wheelchair, covered the food with a blanket.
I also grabbed two cartons of milk and stuffed them into the little ones’ arms, planning to leave quickly before the crowd rioted.
"Him! He’s the president of the Astraeus Group! He admitted it himself!"
Suddenly, someone in the crowd shouted, then pointed at Asher.
I frowned, warily looking back at the person. He was one of the ones from the medical bay.
’So it’s true, you really have to pull out the weeds by the roots...’
"Grab him! Hand him over to those people so they’ll let us go!"
Someone started to rile up the crowd.
I glanced at Asher.
Lucas Grant, Zeke Shaw, and Felix Foster also exchanged glances. A nervous Mason Carter followed behind them.
Stella Abbott, who had gone to get fruit, came back and followed fearfully behind us, holding the two children’s hands.
"Run! Split up!" I yelled to them, pulling Asher and bolting.
To avoid causing them trouble, Asher and I ran in the opposite direction.
"Cece, go back," Asher said, wanting me to return to the group.
"No way." I gripped his wrist tightly. "I’m not leaving you alone!"
We ran into the hallway, only to be cornered by them.
Asher frowned, watching them warily.
’Having been through so much bloodshed, their survival instinct was now at its peak.’
Just when Asher and I thought this was a fight to the death, a door behind us opened. A hand pulled us both inside, quickly shut the door, and locked it.
