After I Died, the Scumbag Went Mad
Chapter 154: Sebastian Lancaster Will Come to Pick Me Up
Chapter 154: Chapter 154: Sebastian Lancaster Will Come to Pick Me Up
I was standing right by the door when Madeline Quinn burst in.
She stopped in her tracks, staring at me in astonishment. "Cece..."
I was wearing my old clothes, so I must have looked a lot like ’Cecilia Caldwell’.
Even Zeke Shaw was taken aback and cursed, "Julian Fletcher, are you sick in the head...?"
"She’s Silvia Lynch, not Cecilia Caldwell. You’re really insane," Zeke Shaw grumbled as he stepped forward to face me. "Silvia, come back with us for now."
I looked at Zeke Shaw blankly, my expression one of a complete stranger. "You are...?"
Madeline Quinn’s breathing hitched. "Cece, it’s me. I’m Madeline Quinn."
I looked at Madeline Quinn. "Madeline, what are you doing here? Who is he?"
Madeline Quinn stepped forward nervously, gripping my hand and whispering, "Do you remember... are you Cecilia Caldwell, or Silvia Lynch?"
I froze for a moment, a look of confusion on my face. "Huh? I’m Cecilia Caldwell..."
At the side, Zeke Shaw cursed again. "Fuck... Julian Fletcher, you lunatic! What did you do to her?"
Julian Fletcher stepped forward, shielding me. "I told you, she won’t be leaving with you. This is her personal freedom, and you have no right to interfere."
"Cece, he’s a total scumbag. Don’t believe him. I’m here to take you away." Madeline Quinn’s eyes reddened as she reached out to me. "Have you forgotten? Asher is still waiting for you. *He’s* your husband."
"Asher..." I clutched my head as a sharp pain shot through it, and I quickly backed away.
Asher.
Sebastian Lancaster.
"Cece." Julian Fletcher hugged me tightly, glaring a warning at Madeline Quinn. "Madeline Quinn, her condition is extremely unstable. If you don’t want her to die, then stop bringing up things that will agitate her!"
Madeline Quinn clenched her fists, trying to restrain her anger. She looked like she wanted to tear Julian Fletcher apart. "You’re disgusting. Was Cece’s previous amnesia also your doing?!"
Julian Fletcher said nothing. He didn’t deny it, but he didn’t admit to it either.
"Cece, don’t be afraid. Ignore them. Let’s get you back to your room to rest." Julian Fletcher tried to guide me back to the room with his arm around me.
Madeline Quinn was unwilling to give up. "Cece..."
Zeke Shaw held Madeline Quinn back.
I let Julian Fletcher guide me into the room. Before closing the door, I glanced back at Madeline Quinn and gave her a wink.
Madeline Quinn froze for a second, then gave me a subtle nod.
’Did Julian Fletcher really think Victor Quinn was that capable?’
’It was true... the electroshock therapy could cause temporary memory confusion or even amnesia.’
’But this time, I don’t know what went wrong, but it seemed Victor Quinn’s experiment wasn’t very successful.’
"Cece, don’t listen to them. Get some rest. I’ll go talk to them." Julian Fletcher had me sit on the bed and knelt before me, his voice gentle, as if he truly loved me.
I said nothing, sitting there numbly as I watched him get up and leave.
"The ones who want Silvia Lynch dead are from the Lancaster family. Is there anyone in the Lancaster family who can be trusted? If you make her go back, you’ll be sending her to her death," Julian Fletcher warned Zeke Shaw and Madeline Quinn in a low voice. "Besides, do you, Madeline Quinn, really think you can protect her? Or you, Zeke Shaw, a mere traffic cop?"
"Julian Fletcher, you scumbag!" Madeline Quinn looked ready to strike him.
Zeke Shaw reached out and stopped Madeline Quinn. "Given the current situation with the Lancaster family, no one can be trusted. Silvia Lynch might actually be safer here... Look at her. She probably can’t handle any more agitation."
Madeline Quinn’s breathing was ragged. "Julian Fletcher, you didn’t cherish her when she was alive, and now you’re pulling this disgusting stunt. You are truly a repulsive person."
Julian Fletcher lowered his gaze. "I will make it up to her."
"Make it up to her?" Madeline Quinn turned to look at Erin Whittaker, who had just returned after having her injuries treated. "Is this your so-called atonement? Trapping someone by your side while their memories are a mess? And keeping your precious first love around at the same time? You’ve got some nerve. Trying to have your cake and eat it too—aren’t you afraid you’ll choke?"
Erin Whittaker had a bandage on her forehead, making her look frail and innocent.
Her voice choked with emotion as she whispered, "Julian."
Julian Fletcher was getting annoyed. He warned Madeline Quinn, "This is my business. It’s not your place to tell me what to do. I suggest you stop agitating her!"
...
I hid behind the door and listened for a while. Once it was quiet outside, I walked to the window and watched Madeline Quinn and Zeke Shaw leave.
’Julian Fletcher was right about one thing: the Lancaster family isn’t safe. For now, this place is.’
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK. A knock came from the door.
I didn’t give permission, but the person came straight in.
It was Erin Whittaker.
She just stood there, speaking tentatively. "Silvia Lynch? You don’t really think... you’re Cecilia Caldwell now, do you?"
I tilted my head. "What are you talking about? Who’s Silvia Lynch? I’m Cecilia Caldwell."
Erin Whittaker’s expression darkened, and she clenched her fists. "Silvia Lynch, stop pretending! You’re not Cecilia Caldwell at all. Because you’re not her, Victor Quinn’s hypnotherapy didn’t work on you. You’re just deliberately putting on an act for Julian Fletcher!"
I smiled. "My, aren’t you a clever one."
Erin Whittaker stared at me, aghast. "I knew it... You’re faking. You don’t have amnesia at all."
"That’s right. I’m just playing along with Julian Fletcher’s little show. He wants me to be Cecilia Caldwell, so I’m letting him have his wish," I said with a soft laugh, walking up to Erin Whittaker.
Erin Whittaker glared at me fiercely. "Silvia Lynch, Sebastian Lancaster is dead. So now you’re setting your sights on Julian Fletcher, is that it? I won’t let you succeed. I will protect Julian Fletcher."
"Such a devoted couple. I’d love to see how you’re going to protect him." The corners of my mouth lifted as I raised my hand and seized Erin Whittaker by the throat. "Sebastian Lancaster won’t die. And if he does, I’ll make sure every single one of you dies with him."
’Sebastian Lancaster won’t die. He’ll come for me.’
Erin Whittaker stared at me in terror, struggling with all her might, but she was surprisingly no match for me.
’Choke her to death.’
’Just like this, snap her neck.’
"Ah!" The moment Julian Fletcher walked in, I let go. Mimicking the way Erin Whittaker used to act, I slapped myself across the face, covered my cheek, and shook my head, crying. "Julian, she... what is she saying? I don’t understand. She mentioned someone named Silvia Lynch... Who is Silvia Lynch?"
Julian Fletcher’s face instantly darkened. He looked at Erin Whittaker with fury. "Erin!"
Erin Whittaker clutched her neck, looking at Julian Fletcher in a panic.
"Julian, she’s faking! She’s Silvia Lynch, she..."
"Shut up!" Julian Fletcher actually slapped Erin Whittaker.
I just watched, the corners of my mouth turning up.
’So this is what it felt like back then, when Erin Whittaker would put on an act and watch Julian Fletcher hurt me...’
’Could this be considered karma?’
"Julian Fletcher, you hit me..." Erin Whittaker covered her cheek, apparently stunned that Julian Fletcher would strike her for my sake. Crying, she turned and ran away.
Julian Fletcher turned back to me, flustered. "Cece... don’t listen to her nonsense. It took me so much to get you back..."
His voice was trembling as he pulled me into a tight hug.
’He said it took him so much to get me back?’
’Heh. How ridiculous.’
"Cece, I won’t let you leave me again. I won’t be deceived by her again. I’ll believe you, Cece... I only believe you," he said, his voice thick with emotion, as if he truly intended to atone for all his past wrongs against me.
’Too bad I only found him noisy now.’
