After Gender Transformation, I Was Adjusted by the System into the Demon Queen’s Strongest Maid
Chapter 155 : Construction Suggestions
“Modify it, then modify it!”
She turned around and shouted at the group of gargoyle craftsmen who were still standing there in a daze.
“What are you all standing around for? Didn’t you hear what the supervisor said?!”
“Move all that soil away! Stop filling the pit!”
“And you over there carving! Get over here and grind these words off! Now! Immediately! Right away!”
With Camilla’s command, the entire construction site became busy once again.
Lilia stood to the side, watching as the Succubus Grand Duke—who had just been grieving over her “untimely death”—instantly transformed into the most dedicated foreman. She couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.
“As expected…”
“Right.”
After directing for a while, Camilla suddenly seemed to remember something. She turned to look at Lilia, her gaze somewhat complicated.
“That Forbidden Spell…”
She paused, as if choosing her words.
“You really… don’t have any problems at all?”
Thinking back to last night, even now, Camilla still felt lingering fear.
That kind of world-destroying power was not something a human body could withstand.
Lilia’s heart tightened.
Of course she had problems.
If Hera had arrived a moment later, she would probably have needed that tombstone for real.
But on the surface, she merely shrugged casually.
“If the Grand Duke is curious, I can cast one for you next time to liven things up?”
Camilla’s face turned pale, and she waved her hands repeatedly.
“No need, no need.”
She had figured it out.
This little maid was a monster in sheep’s clothing.
She looked harmless, but inside she was full of schemes—and she held a nuclear bomb in her hands.
Not someone to be provoked.
“Since the plan is set, then the specific construction drawings…”
Camilla quickly changed the subject, pulling out a wrinkled piece of parchment from her chest. It was the cemetery design she had drawn overnight.
“This area was originally planned for an altar. Should it now be changed into a viewing platform?”
“And here, should the drainage system be redesigned?”
Lilia looked at the blueprint and secretly smiled.
This Succubus Grand Duke really got into character quickly.
“No rush.”
Lilia waved her hand and pointed at the monument that hadn’t been polished yet.
“Deal with this thing first.”
“After all…”
She narrowed her eyes, staring at the glaring epitaph.
“Some things are better gone sooner rather than later.”
……
“Chi—chi—”
The harsh grinding sound finally stopped.
Stone powder fell in flakes. The place where the epitaph had been carved became smooth and pristine again. Then new characters were engraved and filled with gold powder.
【White Rose Arena】
Below it was an extremely flamboyant line of smaller text:
【This place commemorates that meteor that cleansed all sin】
Lilia stood in front of the obsidian monument, which was as tall as two people. She looked at it from every angle and finally had to admit—so long as she didn’t think of it as a coffin lid originally meant for her head, it actually had quite an artistic feel.
“Well?”
Camilla’s tone carried an impatient “just say it already” edge. Her purple long dress was already covered in dust, and her meticulously styled wavy hair had become messy. She now truly looked like a construction foreman.
Lilia clasped her hands behind her back and circled the monument, putting on an act. Finally, she reached out and wiped the newly carved character “Arena.”
“Not bad.” Lilia nodded, wearing the reluctant expression of a demanding client. “The gold powder overflowed a bit. Pay attention to details next time. This is Her Majesty’s facade—we can’t look shabby, right, Grand Duke?”
The vein on Camilla’s forehead visibly twitched.
She took a deep breath, as if forcing down all the stone dust in her lungs, then forced a smile.
“As long as the supervisor is satisfied.”
After saying that, she waved toward the distance.
“Natasha! Where did you crawl off to?! Get over here!”
With that loud shout, a figure emerged from behind a pile of rubble.
It was… a rather hard-to-describe female demon.
Calling her a Succubus didn’t feel right—she was wrapped up tightly, wearing work overalls stained with paint and lime. Her hair was a mess like a bird’s nest, and perched on her nose was a monocle as thick as a bottle bottom. Instead of a whip, she held a roll of parchment thicker than her arm and several charcoal pencils.
“Coming, coming! Don’t rush me—there was an issue with the load-bearing column data just now…”
Natasha jogged over, her boots crunching against the scorched ground. She pushed up the glasses slipping down her nose and looked somewhat confused at the human girl standing there with her hands behind her back, acting all mysterious.
“And this is?”
“The client.” Camilla rolled her eyes and pointed at Lilia. “Even though she hasn’t drawn a single blueprint, just listen to her.”
Natasha’s eyes lit up instantly.
That was the special glow reserved for seeing the “gold sponsor,” even though it usually meant endless revisions and the urge to kill.
“Hello, hello!” Natasha enthusiastically extended a hand covered in ink, then awkwardly pulled it back to wipe it on her pants. “I’m the chief architect under Grand Duke Camilla. Just call me Natasha. Do you have any specific ideas for this Arena?”
Lilia was momentarily stunned by the sudden enthusiasm.
Ideas?
In her previous life, she was just someone who watched matches on TV. If she really had to draw blueprints, she probably couldn’t even calculate a load-bearing wall.
But now she was riding a tiger she couldn’t get off.
Behind her were thousands of laborers waiting to start work, and in front of her was a Succubus Grand Duke waiting to watch her make a fool of herself.
She couldn’t lose face.
Lilia cleared her throat and pieced together fragments of the Roman Colosseum and modern stadiums from her memory, then began speaking with a straight face.
“Ahem, first of all, the main structure must be that crater.”
She pointed at the bottomless vitrified basin behind her.
“Don’t think about filling it, and don’t build raised platforms. Use the natural slope to create circular stepped seating. Like… like a pot—the audience sits along the rim, and the fighters are at the bottom.”
Natasha quickly recorded everything on the parchment, her charcoal pencil scratching rapidly.
“A sunken design, using acoustics to amplify the sound—brilliant idea! What about the main viewing platform?”
“The main platform…” Lilia scanned the area, finally settling on a protruding rock at the highest point of the basin. “There. It has to be high, suspended—preferably with a transparent bottom so you can directly see the abyss beneath your feet.”
“You mean a panoramic glass suspension corridor?” Natasha’s eyes shone even brighter. “It’ll cost more, but the visual impact will be incredible! The Grand Duke should be able to afford it!”
Beside them, Camilla’s face darkened another shade.
Lilia pretended not to notice and continued delivering her “advanced concepts.”
“And also, don’t use those dry, boring stone seats. There should be private boxes—VIP boxes, understand? Fully enclosed, with soft couches, drinks, and ideally one-way transparent crystals so you can see outside, but outsiders can’t see in.”
Natasha’s pen paused. She looked up at Lilia, her eyes filled with admiration.
“You’re a genius!”
