Chapter 1368: Chapter 1365: On the Brink of War

Dark clouds pressed overhead. Standing at the very top of the base, Bi Xia looked down from on high at the group opposite: Mountain Collapse Neil, Mind Reader Louis, Water Spreader Edie. As for that Mountain Collapse Neil in front, Bi Xia had heard about him from Katrina—he was the older brother of Harry, the one she had killed during her first advancement, and also the person Katrina hated most.

As for the other two... her starry eyes narrowed halfway. She had never seen them, never heard of them. Then, seeing their empty, hollow gazes, Bi Xia clenched her fist. They were being controlled.

"Boss?"

"Have you reached Big Brother?"

"Got through." Meng Chi nodded. "Boss Feng asks if you need him to send people back. As for Mr. Wu, he can go there himself."

"Send what people! I’m not some earthworm you can crush with a pinch!" Bi Xia’s voice was cold. "Given the situation now, they clearly anticipated this long ago. Sending people back is useless. Tell Big Brother, don’t waste effort. I’ll hold the line at the base. He needs to end it fast, rescue Xiao Wu, and then come back!"

"But..."

"No buts!" She snapped her gaze to Meng Chi, pressed her lips together, then raised her hand and took the walkie-talkie. A layer of deep-blue spiritual power covered it, maintaining the "fairy tale." "Big Brother, it’s Little Nine."

"...Little Nine, I’m sorry, I—"

"I get it. If I were in Xiao Wu’s position right now, Fourth Brother probably wouldn’t even say sorry—he’d just go save me." Bi Xia spoke calmly. "What I’m about to say, you need to remember. Everything has to be fast."

"Because of what happened in her childhood, Xiao Wu developed dissociative identity disorder. There are two of her in that body now: one is Chu Wu, and one is Wu. Wu is the violent personality. Once Wu loses her reason, I can’t be sure what she’ll do. But you can rest assured, everything Wu does is for Xiao Wu. She won’t harm Xiao Wu."

Listening to Bi Xia’s words, Feng Zhihuai paused, his sword-like eyes sinking. "Got it. If necessary, that spiritual body..."

"Don’t hurt her!" Bi Xia cut him off, her voice stern. "I’m telling you this not so you can hurt her. I’m telling you because once Wu comes out, all those things Xiao Wu has hidden for so many years will no longer stay hidden. All I can do is give you a heads-up, and also hope that you... don’t hurt Wu. That’s my plea, and also... Xiao Wu’s wish."

"Wu is... the only companion Xiao Wu had during that dark period."

Switching the channel, Bi Xia handed the walkie-talkie back to Meng Chi. Looking at the overwhelming force rushing them below, she drew in a deep breath. Meng Chi pressed his lips together. "Boss, you really should have let Boss Feng’s people come back."

"Come back for what?" Bi Xia curled her lips. "They’ve already cut over all the exits. Unless Feng Zhihuai comes back and shifts the space, no matter how many people return, it’s useless. And Big Brother hasn’t yet reached the level where he can move this many of us."

"Then at the very least, if he comes back he could take you out," Meng Chi said quietly, head lowered. "At least you’d be safe that way."

Hearing him, Bi Xia chuckled softly. "As long as you’re here, I’m not leaving. And with Xiao Wu in danger, I won’t have Big Brother come back just to save me."

"They’ve plotted everything out. Then we’ll follow their setup and have ourselves a good game..."

As her words fell, a voice amplified by spiritual power blared from the opposite side. "Bi Xia! Today, none of you can escape your doom. I advise you to come out obediently and hand over the goods. Otherwise, I guarantee not a single person in your base will live past today!"

Her starry eyes narrowed slightly, red lips parting. "So much bullshit."

She suddenly raised her hand. Deep-blue spiritual power tore through the sky, and the giant flood-dragon shot into the clouds, circling high above and looking down on the people below. Suddenly, its draconic roar echoed; the already overcast sky went completely dark in an instant. A crushing spiritual pressure surged straight toward Neil and his people.

Staggering backward, Neil looked up at the giant flood-dragon in the sky, eyes darkening. He let out a cold laugh, raised his hand, and released his own spiritual body—only for a snake to appear before him. Facing this all-too-familiar snake, the flood-dragon burned with fury. Fuck, it was the same species as the thing that had injured it back then!

Bi Xia narrowed her brows and eyes, the backs of her heels pushing off lightly. In a flash, she stepped on spiritual power and rushed toward the flood-dragon. The flood-dragon caught her the instant she arrived. Suddenly, a black cat appeared in front of Bi Xia. That cat’s entire form expanded, and a white-tiger-shaped figure manifested before everyone. Its originally jet-black body shed its color, white fur rippling gently in the breeze before their eyes.

stood at Bi Xia’s side, the "王" character on its forehead glowing with deep-blue light. Bi Xia raised a brow. "Since when did you go from a second to a tiger?"

lifted its chin slightly. "Just exchanged it from the space. We might lose to people, but we sure as hell won’t lose to beasts. It’s all about looking cool."

With that, the white tiger roared, the flood-dragon cried, and the girl’s army-green uniform stood straight and unwavering. That stunning face carried endless cold as deep-blue spiritual power gradually gathered in her hand, swirling before her chest.

Seeing Bi Xia’s movement, everyone in the base released their own spiritual power. Multicolored spiritual power spiraled through the air. At the same instant, Neil swept his arm out in a grand arc. The battle was about to explode.
